And as for inconsistency regarding "income" two weeks ago Chiangmai were only accepting "pension" and last week it changed to "income", wonder what this week will bring.

Do you have a link to the reports you are stating?...

Assist Thai Visa have stated on their Facebook page that CM Immigration is not requiring any proof of funds source - Just that it be shown to have been transferred from abroad...

  2. I live in Chiang Mai but am interested in buying a used car from a private seller in Bangkok.

What would be the process for transferring ownership at the land office?

Would we go to the Bangkok or Chiang Mai land office? (I doubt I can get sell to come here)

If we go to the Bangkok office then do I need to go to the Chiang Mai office to get it registered here?

How do I also get Chiang Mai plates?

  3. I would line the inside of the box with double layer of acoustic tiles & bubble wrap type of insulation making an acoustic box inside your wood box trying not to let them touch to reduce vibration from being transferee  - And Unlike foam they won’t retain water or humidity or make a nasty fire if they get too hot... Maybe add I layer of engine firewall insulation too...

Or someone who has done a combo at ChiangMai immigration. ????

Ah.. The elusive or extinct Chiang Mai Combo... :coffee1:

As to impugning the integrity of AssistThai Visa...

They have been in business for years providing basic visa & legal services (They don’t deal in scam visas like in Pattaya)... I don’t know why they would make this up and say they couldn’t provide a service that they normally in the past would charge a fee for?...

Link? I don't see that in the OP?  Since the OP contradicts all other extension rules I think the link should come from the OP as it is a new rule.

Look at ThaiVisas Facebook post and thier comments confirming the 65k must come from a foreign source (Which is what Immigration has always said too)...

    You would if you could....

Meaning many enter a hospital unconscious

At that point the doctor tells your wife or ??? you need operation NOW

    cost = x-baht

If at that point you have no representative/wife etc the hospital will ???

That is one I would be curious to hear how it will be handled

Will all the bank account Immigration visa ext. required be available to hospital billing if

    you remain unconscious or worse?

These things will be interesting going forward

I have yet to read on this forum a situation where anyone’s bank account has been turned over to a hospital while the person is still alive and without their consent... 800k account must be in the name of the farrang only (no joint account)... It would seem a court order would be the only way to access the funds without the account holders consent... (I am not considering people who are dumb enough to keep their 800k funds in an account accessible with an ATM card and have handed the pin to a third party)... I have also never heard of any farrang brought into a hospital unconscious in the ICU and not being treated because of financial reasons... On the contrary according to government statistics hundreds of thousands of foreigners seem to be able to be readily treated and released from the hospital without any financial transaction taking place...

  7. We went to Bagan last Christmas and the hotel had electric scooters that were great!... clean and quiet and lasted all day on a charge... Then realized that all the hotels rented them and they were everywhere... I wish we could have the same here...
