  1. For those of you who have cancelled your True Satellite - Keep your dish!... Know that you can go to any Big C/Tesco (And 7-11 sells a box) and buy a satellite box that can connect to your existing dish cable... this will give you a bunch of free channels (mostly Thai - But a few English)... They run about 800-1,500 baht

I have this one with a small dish and get about 40 free channels:

  2.  Typ123... if your AC is like most you will find on the top of the inside unit there is a removable door that can act as a filter or give you access to the inside of the unit where you will find filters... remove this door... in the Filtrete package you will find some double stick tape... put a few of these on the outside of the door... then stick the filter mesh over the outside of the door... cut the filter to match the door... then replace the door with the filter mesh showing on the outside...

  3. I have a pair of these

they came with an extra Hepa filter and HomePro stocks additional Hepa filters...

you up can also shop at the Lazada.co.th site

Also... I add a sheet of the 3M Filtrete to the outside of the hepa filter... this I change every two weeks... I don't think it makes it work better but saves on cleaning/replacing the Hepa filter

I'd hesitate to try that... I've seen, on several different occasions, police actually pull riders from the bike, or pull the handlebars over. I have all the required documents that they could ever ask for, just in case, but so far usually only get asked to produce my Thai license and then get waved on.

  5. I like how they have taken a que from Immigration and made it a "One Stop Shop"... setting up a table nearby table where a senior officer will take your money as to save you a second trip to the police station

  6. If on your commute you can avoid riding your bike on the Chiang Mai/hang Dong highway a bike would be fine...

Both the Koopville 9 and Kad Farrang Moobaans are easy and nice bike rides to Kad Farrang Market...

You might check out a row of new townhouses near the North Hill golf course... my guess is you could rent one cheap...

Here is a nice place you could rent for the first month:

  7. There was a Garmin store in Pantip but it seems to have closed... Does anyone know if they relocated?...

What I am looking for is a dash mount puck for my Garmin like this or a sand bag type?

  8. We will be escaping Chiang Mai Songram to Koh Chang... The plan is to fly to BKK rent a car and drive to K Chang... we would like to do a one night stop over on the way (we want to have diner at the seafood restaurant at the end of Jomtiem Beach road)... we would like a nice hotel with a balcony sea view for 1-2,000 baht - also close to a coffee shop that is open in the morning... suggestions of a hotel and coffee shop would be appreciated
