Don't waste your time learning the language, don't need it in Bangkok, Pattaya, ChiangMai, with Google translate and google lens it makes it simple

I agree. It's useful to know a few phrases and numbers etc but in the main cities you can get by fine without knowing Thai. With the new Samsung AI apps you can talk to anyone.

Will be amazing exact in the middle of high season: people smoking legal on christmas, last day of the year, to then be arrested, fined at a court + deported on 1st jan '25? This together with the taxes, I guess all clears up fast around happy new year, will make my decision easy, to leave Thailand for Vietnam with my family.

Already figured out the new school, housing, visa and more. It is all easier and better for people who actually contribute and employ. Smoking weed would also be the exact same as you can already do that here everywhere in Vietnam too. Same to buy good indoor.

A fine, if it is not a bribe, legally by court on the first time, is only a 100 dollars anyway. And the only time that happened so far was when a French guy was growing hundreds of plants in his garden in Hanoi lol.

I will laugh so so hard, if Vietnam decides to open medical shops, in 1-2 years from now, while Thailand fked up, again.

You are going to leave, with your family, just so you can get stoned?

  3. I recently sold my Canon 80d and was thinking of getting a mirrorless camera, maybe the Sony A7 IV or the Canon R6ii. But prices seem to have risen a lot in recent years. Either of those with just one decent lens is well over 100,000 baht. Not sure i want to invest that much in a system especially as the photos i get from my Samsung S23 Ultra are, for the most part, excellent.

The contract is made when you agree the purchase in Thailand, hand over you credit card and and the merchant provides the goods or services you agreed to buy. That settlement is made later elsewhere is not relevant. It is not correct to say the cash never reaches Thailand, the merchant is paid is he not.

I was merely raising the question, who knows. Is there a line on the thai tax return to show all purchases made via a foreign credit card?
