Or visit for a holiday at this time of the year. How many will read about the pollution & make a mental note to never visit, whatever the time of year?
Me. I had a visit planned to Chiang Mai over Songkhran but cancelled, and will probably never visit again.

I’m surprised that the uncertainty about tax on money brought into the country isn’t mentioned. I think this will potentially have a massive impact on the attractiveness of Thailand as a retirement place.
Does anyone know how this will work yet? I can't believe Thailand will tax income from say the UK which has already been subject to UK tax.

Thailand has nothing to offer tourists, Vietnam is better in every way.
The Viets don't hate white folk, they don't put the wrong stamps in your passport, the beaches aren't infested by sand flies, there is more to see.
If I didn't already have a Thai house, wife, kid, I'd not be here.
Unless you want to stay more than a month. No long stay visas.

The long haul flights are a nuisance, they are no longer party animals, they need to be around constant affordable healthcare. They used to come to thailand for 6 months. Now they come for 2 weeks. If tgey come at all.
Where are they going to? the wet cold islamic republic of the UK?

Is that to incinerate all the Russian tourists? good idea Phuket.

Maybe it's because Thailand is starting to crack down on illegal workers or people who try to avoid the (rather easy) immigration procedures. Thailand is still an easy, cheap destination for legitimate visitors.

If you don't want to invest in your own wheels, the ride-hailing apps like Grab and Bolt provide very reasonably-priced taxis. Don't forget that you also have the expat food shop by the Machanu statue, and I believe there's another one in Jomtien Beach Condo, though I've never been to it myself. Depending on where in Jomtien you are, the market on Soi Wat Bun might also be handy for you.
I think Foodmart has a very good meat section and bakery, better than Lotus's. Some of their other stuff is a bit more expensive but worth it for the convenience. Want fruit/vegetables Ratanakorn market is 200 yards away.

It is illegal in Thailand to use your horn unless you are preventing an accident. I have a lot of times when I am preventing an accident.
Really? or did you just make that up.

At least Bangkok still has some nice parks and green spaces. What do we have in Pattaya a few square metres of grass at Lan Po.

That's why i never go to Pattaya beach. I am sure they cut down all the trees to force you to pay for the deckchairs to get any shade. I go to Jomtien beach which has a few trees left but sure they will go soon too.

One day water fights would be enough, now many businesses suffer, Thais go home to avoid, people stay home instead.
I'd like to see which businesses actually made more money the Songkran week, 100s made less money
Yes would be interesting to hear from the business community. I haven't been able to go to a bar or restaurant for 9 days. I guess many like Nickys on Soi Buakhao just close up and take it as a New Year holiday.

Many countries in the region would like to see Israel wiped off the map and all it's population killed. Of course Israel would be justified in using nuclear weapons in that situation.

I had this in the past and it was due to some services i had used in the past and they were able to claim small fees without my permission. I had to go to a True office and get them to block tham all.

I have bought 3 new cars in Thailand for cash. I always got a discount, 1 yr free insurance and a few freebies. Maybe BMW/Mercedes think that only peasants ask for such incentives.

I keep mine at 800k with a buffer all year round. I know it wastes money i could get on interest elesewhere but it keeps it simple with no chance of slip ups if i forget to top up at the right time.

Look on Youtube. One of the vloggers here Ride4Kicks did a video on a driving school located next to the Bangkok Pattaya Hospital. Seemed professional and much better than the standard "school" you would find in Pattaya.

China is looking to flood the world with their over capacity of crap EVs. Thailand no doubt will be happy to accept anything if it brings in some cash.

In March 2020 i had a root canal and crown fitted on a tooth at the back of my mouth, cost 16,100 in total. I think that's a better option than extraction. I think it took 3 visits. Now maybe 20,000?

Who doesnt tip?

For bars and restaurants i would tip around 10% upto a max of 100 baht and for small bills under 60 baht nothing. Assuming the service is OK of course any problems they get nothing. If they don't bring me the change it's nothing. 20 baht tip for the hairdresser.
