If you live fairly centrally you can manage without a bike, or car, although it's a big help to get around. I think the baht buses are great, and cheap. I lived here for 2 years before i got a bike. If you are not used to riding though it can be dodgy. Ride as though every one is out to kill you.

Philippines is going to fill up
Henryford replied to georgegeorgia's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I will take your word for it as you have been to both places. I would find it hard to believe cheaper than Pattaya though. I get beer here 50-60 baht, farang meal 199 thai meal 70 baht, baht bus 10 baht, car insurance 6000 baht, visa 1900 a year etc. I don't use maids, laundry, guards etc so don't see where the savings might be. Groceries maybe? but then i don't spend much on those. Hookers might be the only reason if they are cheap. -

Frozen state pensions are a bummer but getting a extra few pounds on my massive 131 GBP a week pension wouldn't be enough to switch countries. Maybe if i was just retiring i would opt for the Philippines but it is along way from anywhere and i doubt any cheaper than Thailand. If i moved anywhere it would be Cambodia. -
It was a joke but i have no doubt they will see this as an easy way to increase income in the future as they have in western countries.

Because soon it will be increased to 13,500

What documents is the juristic condo person required from the owners.

The guy is obviously renting under 30 days that's why he is making such a fuss about it. Needs to be booted out. -
Got mine a week ago 558 baht

Of course it's their business. They are there to protect the co-owners interests from rogue landlords. -

Why don't you want to give her these documents, unless you are breaking the law and renting for under 30 days. It is good she is trying to protect other co-owners/tenants. -
Those tour buses are a real PITA, they cause many of the traffic problems around Pattaya. As for baht buses i never have a problem. Apart of Christmas/New Year i don't think i ever wait more than 5 minutes. One of the best things about Pattaya, quick, cheap transport anywhere in the (main part of) town.

I bet there is no one at the southern end of Jomtien beach, where they extended the beach. Not a single tree for shade and a roasting hot 60 yard walk to the sea.

Swiss Expat Critically Injured in Scooter-Car Crash in Pattaya

I would disagree. I would consider the dual carriageway to be the "main road" and thus have right of way. Anyone entering from the minor road over the railway line should give way. In any event i always proceed with great caution at that intersection and would never cross unless the way was clear. -

No charging option in condo - Need advice

How many condos would be happy to install a gasoline pump in an underground car park just below occupied condos? That's what most people think about the idea of EV charging stations in their condo. -
