Pita says the aim must be to stop “old power” succession
bamnutsak replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Not sure, you need the same Kool-Aid that luckyblock token drinks. I'm more interested in his pitch that Pita is a "Manchurian Candidate"? Much better than some reality-challenged buffoon here suggesting Pita was a "Ivy League Trojan Horse". -
Pheu Thai to Seek More Support for Next PM Vote
bamnutsak replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Prawit is the sentimental favorite, payback for his years of suppression, and has climbed to the top of leaderboard significantly today. PTP will have to give up the PM, but will demand significant troughage in return for laying down. Bonus: Thaksin gets a Royal Pardon and can return home, unscathed, in this two-player deal with management. MFP will need to be erased, using the "Law", "Courts" and "a commission or two". -
From the article, which is a bit one-sided and apologist for the regime (and riddled with errors and falsehoods).... However, the current Prime Minister General Prayut Chan ocha, in 2020, announced that the lèse-majesté provision would no longer be enforced at the personal request of His Majesty King Vajiralongkorn or Rama X. He reversed course later that year in the face of street protests which erupted in the middle of 2023 demanding constitutional reform and which became increasingly violent with intense clashes seen in Bangkok with officers of the Royal Thai Police. This clearly highlights the issues with 112. Enforcement is capricious, and the current status of of enforcement is divined by Prayut, on any given day. So the public may be confused as to what's acceptable today vs. yesterday. And any citizen, presumably of a certain status and political leaning, can file a complaint against any perceived "enemy". The court cases are opaque to the public, and the outcome is pre-ordained. People are held for weeks, months without bail, while convicted seditionists (Suthep + Gang) are released on bail within 30 hours. The sentences are barbarous. ( The obvious exception being the recent acquittal of five charged with impeding the Queen's motorcade, which was hailed as a "landmark" decision.) This "law" is used to intimidate anyone who is deemed to not be suitably subservient. If an institution is not strong enough to withstand a hand gesture, a crop-top, or the words of a 15 YO young woman then Houston, we have a problem.

Ever classy and responsible comment. "You" should sacrifice yourself to save "Me". The 14 m MFP voters appreciate this cowards' willingness to sacrifice them. What a buffoon. And should PTP jettison their voters too. So some party with a million votes can remain in power.

AN Original Trump wants to execute people who engage in human trafficking.
bamnutsak replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Would this before or after a trial? And why didn't he take this action when he was president? -
Yes. They have. Believe me, as simple as these reforms are they can NEVER EVER be allowed to adopted. MFP also ran on a few other issues: breaking up monopolies, alcohol liberalization, military reduced, military conscription eliminated. Maybe a few more. https://www.thaipbsworld.com/is-move-forward-partys-policy-platform-giving-the-markets-the-jitters And since the election additional things to be done: https://www.nationthailand.com/thailand/politics/40028134

House Speaker Clarifies His Role in PM Vote Session
bamnutsak replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
MFP got sandbagged by not securing the Speakership role first. Nothing "heartening" about his "appointment". I don't think there was any furore when Wan Noor was nominated. If he had an ounce of self-awareness he would realize he's not up to the task and should resign. I would expect a major blunder again on Thursday. -
How to store ‘sticky weed’ in Thailand?
bamnutsak replied to truthfix's topic in Thailand Cannabis Forum
I assume your cannabis is properly dried and cured. In which case a mason jar with a Boveda (62%) pack should be fine, stored at room temp, but out of direct sunlight, for 4 - 6 months. Yes, there will be some loss in flavor/terps. How long are you planning on storing your cannabis? -

Thai political parties resist joining Pheu Thai-led coalition
bamnutsak replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The MFP will be disbanded long before then, with members subject to 10 year - lifetime bans. Some will be jailed for 112/116 charges. -
AN Original Republican calls to impeach Biden increased.
bamnutsak replied to Social Media's topic in World News
I've taken some heat for not mentioning Impeachment statistics, as that is part of the topic here. Trump remains the all-time leader in Impeachments with two. This is a record most fans agree will never be broken. There is some pressure on Commissioner McCarthy to expunge one or both impeachments, but most expect the best he can do is require asterisks next to trump's "records". Meanwhile Joe Biden remains Impeachment free throughout his career. -
Thai political parties resist joining Pheu Thai-led coalition

A Constitutional Crisis will not make an acceptable Birthday Present. Pressure will be brought to bear for a workable solution on Thursday. They can't leave that session without a government. Sheesh even Hun Sen can decree a new government, while Thailand squabbles about how to ignore the will of the people.- 22 replies

AN Original Republican calls to impeach Biden increased.
bamnutsak replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Indictment Standings - Mid-Season Current leading Republican Presidential Candidate - 2 Trump leads in this category coming out of the All-Star break. And he's on a streak, with at least one more indictment expected this week. And many expect this streak to continue with multiple "fake-electors" indictments due in other "leagues". Several managers in other leagues (Russia, RSA, Qatar) have expressed interest in a trade for trump before the trade deadline. Meanwhile, reliable three-tool utility player Joe Biden continues to propel the ENTIRE team (country) forward to another winning season. Sadly he remains indictment-free this season. -
Bhumjaithai Party will not join any coalition with Move Forward
bamnutsak replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I think he would welcome the FM/MoFA posting. This would round out and burnish his CV. I can see Newin also demanding that son Saksayam keep the MoT portfolio, and clear up any kerfuffle there regarding misappropriation of funds. -
Pheu Thai will try to get its candidate selected as PM next Thursday
bamnutsak replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
While there is pressure to get this done before the holiday on 28 July, and a potential 5-day weekend (Asanha Bucha Day, Tuesday 1 Aug), I can't see PTP being successful unless they agree to many, many terms with the Senate. And if they choose to acquiesce to the Senate they will doom themselves as a political party. No win situation. Maybe they can scramble after a No vote, and put something together in order to save face at the last minute? -
House Speaker Clarifies His Role in PM Vote Session
bamnutsak replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
He's incompetent, and should resign. He was the wrong choice. Back in 1996 maybe he was OK as Speaker. Now? Seems he's three steps behind.
