  1. Yeah, that brown floater is not "the truth". And if it's floating isn't it already on the surface? So make them public. If not, why not? He's got more excuses than a 10 year old with no homework to turn in.
  2. We're always advised to wait for the results of the investigation before jumping to conclusions. I'd like to see the results of the autopsy, especially cause of death and a drugs panel. Cannabis still isn't as inexpensive as methamphetamine. It is illegal to sell cannabis to someone under 20 YO. Arguments over money are probably 1A or 1B here as excuses for violent behavior, Love being the other. Given what I perceive to be the rural location, I'd submit that cannabis was always available; locally grown, low potency. I doubt this lad was venturing to the nearest dispensary. If forced to jump to a conclusion I would guess methamphetamine (use/abuse/withdrawal) is more likely as the drug causing this sort of violent behavior. from the linked article... The police searched the boy’s room and found equipment used to smoke cannabis. So he had what, a lighter, rolling papers, a bamboo bong (which can be used to smoke other things). Note that there is no mention of actual cannabis, which I guess makes sense if he didn't have any money to buy some. I'm certain the authorities will track down the source of the cannabis and prosecute the seller for illegally selling to someone under 20 YO. There has been a lull in the scary anti-cannabis "stories" (fan fiction?) lately. Interesting to see an increase now. They need a really big story to close the deal.
  3. Ruangkrai Leekitwattana, as previously reported, is pressing the EC to investigate some discrepancies in Pita's various filings re: some land sale(s). https://www.nationthailand.com/thailand/politics/40028623 I'm sure Ruangkrai will be along shortly demanding a Proctologist's examination and report. I hate to stoop so low but wouldn't mind someone closely examining Ruangkrai's personal filings over the past 20 years. I find this ability for anyone to file a grievance directly with (one of) the enforcing authorities vexing. There is no filter. But I get that it is a remnant of the Thai "legal" system ca. 1805 (Law of the Three Seals), although the provisions to make a charge based on status dates from much earlier times.
  4. Fine. What constitutes "half of an allegation"? So what does Turley propose? A Special Counsel to investigate? What? Just the IRS case? Or Hunter Biden's entire life? To what end? Hunter Biden should pay more in taxes and penalties? Less? No one goes to prison to misdemeanor tax offenses.
  5. How could the Biden Administration, aka The Government, facilitate censorship, or suppress free speech, ahead of the 2020 election? This is a big allegation to make. I assume he's bringing receipts. and not just flapping his gums.
  6. I have to admit that very generally speaking we are collectively excellent at telling people what we don't like or want. And with an election 16 months out it is easier to be picky. Chief Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes retired at 90. Senator Strom Thurmond served until age 100. Current Senator Chuck Grassley is 89, Sen. Feinstein 90 (maybe not the ideal example?) and Mitch McConnell is 81. Age shouldn't be an issue.
  7. Twenty years and counting for me. No issues at all. I've changed my mailing address at least four times in those years, all done online, and while I do have a current DL which matches, I have never ever been asked for it. Access/registration for some services may require things like matching address on a credit report or a current utility bill. Maybe register for mySSA now, even though you are not receiving disbursements. It is possible to register and access mySSA via ID dot me. Maybe look into a mail forwarding service in NV? If you have a Thai bank account already consider setting up a standing wire transfer order with Fidelity, these require a Medallion guarantee best done in person at a Fidelity branch.
  8. When they start using these anthropomorphic parables you know they want to give you quick look behind the curtain. In this case, Anutin is the Clever Monkey, just trying to get across the river.
  9. FWIW, a "present" vote is not a vote for or against a candidate. It merely indicates that the legislator was present. An abstention is also not a vote for or against a candidate. My point was that honest, sincere, noble Senators would recognize that they really shouldn't take the power of the people away from them. It's no better than a coup as both can be labelled as "legal". Interesting point. I was under the impression that a vote required a majority of the National Legislative Assembly, which is made up of the House of Representatives (500 MPs) and the Senate (250 Senators). Section 79 The National Assembly consists of the House of Representatives and the Senate. But you are correct, only the House of Representatives is mentioned. It's not mentioned under Joint Sittings (Sec. 156) In 2019 Senators had a vote, they voted unanimously for General Prayuth. I can only think this is an issue with the translations? Or the versions used for the translations? For example all the versions I see mention the 350/150 split rather than the 400/100 split now used. Or that we're missing something.
  10. IMO senators should vote present or abstain in upcoming votes for Speaker and PM. To ignore or go against the will of the people will have grave consequences, both in the short-term and in the long-term. How can senators stand in front of the public and claim they know what's best for the country, and voters do not. And that voters wasted their vote for nothing.
  11. Back when he was with PTP (2017) he filed a petition with the Revenue Department implicating Prawit in some financial shenanigans. Pheu Thai party lawyer Ruangkrai Leekitwattana said on Sunday he would file a petition to the Revenue Department to look into its records to see whether tax was collected from Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwan’s cheques. https://www.nationthailand.com/in-focus/30309579 Now he's Prawit's sock puppet.
  12. Thanks for highlighting the lopsidedness of the election, and the resounding stomping of the legacy military parties (the Dems are toast) by MFP and PTP.
  13. It is amazing that unelected Senators are interfering in the formation of a government, by publicly speaking about whatever happens to lurch into their brains. General Akanit Muansawad is close to sedition in his attempts to influence who gets nominated for PM. His job as an appointed Senator is to debate candidates IN SESSION, and vote.
  14. Prayuth did not stand for election, hence he did not receive any votes. Palang Prahcarat won 116 seats Pheu Thai won 136 seats Yes PPP had 23.34 % of the votes, while PTP had 21.92% There are only two (2) directly elected offices in Thailand: Governor of Bangkok, and Governor of Pattaya. Thailand's military and police are always on stand-by for protests.
  15. Someone should file a Defamation suit against this clown. Why does have any standing? Why are his complaints considered legitimate?
  16. Thanks. Do you feel like you need these to sleep occasionally - a couple of nights per week? Or do you see yourself using such a product every night? It would be good to get a report on how you are affected when you do not consume a gummy. Given that these are illegal here - no THC extracts - we'll have to rely on illegal imports. I can't see that changing anytime soon. If anything THC might become more tightly controlled. And I'm not sure if CBN (for the THC:CBN products) extraction is legal here. A lot of people are looking for sleep aids, preferably something safe and natural.
  17. Clearly they didn't poll the student activist organization known as "Bad Student", who claim that their first dictatorship is School. Uniforms, like prostration and mandatory hair-styles, are vestiges of the past and not proven to enhance the educational experience. All the reasons given to support uniforms are flawed. Every student knows who is richer/poorer and where they fit in the Thai social pyramid. A uniform is not the Great Equalizer most readily claim. And then there are multiple uniforms: standard, sport, scout, paramilitary which increase cost. I'll give it up for a polo shirt, shorts or slacks (unisex, skirts optional) and choice of footwear. Control of hair-styles has been liberalized and society hasn't collapsed.
  18. Chonlanan Srikaew is a physician and in leadership of the Pheu Thai Party. He is vocal in his opposition to Cannabis liberalization, as is PTP in general. MoveForward is also anti-Cannabis. He has been expressing an interest in the Minister of Public Health position, for PTP and presumably, himself. If that happens it is likely that he will relist Cannabis as a Narcotic on day 2, but still allow some few strictly controlled medical applications (mostly CBD based) as things were pre June 9, 2022.
  19. He's slippery. And while he wasn't charged and convicted like the Suthep Gang, he did attend the Bangkok Shutdown protests and called for the the Yingluck administration to resign and for Parliament to be dissolved. He'll neve be able to get rid of the stench. Believe me, he'll be back at the first scent of unrest.
  20. I'm trying to assist a neighbor with their 90 day report online. They are registered on the system, but they have a new passport with which they entered the country (~ 8 weeks ago). And they subsequently renewed their ext stay/ret at CW ~ 6 weeks ago. I assume they will have to do this first report with the new passport in person at CW? However, to use the online system for their next report do they have to re-register with the new passport, or can you use an existing 'account' with a new passport? And a side question, is the old TM30 (associated with the previous passport) still valid? Or should a 'new' TM30 have been filed on the most recent entry with the new passport? (same address)
  21. Probably smoking crystal meth. That's what Italian Fridge Guy was up to when he lost his S**t. Dropped the pipe or tipped the torch, pants on fire, flames, panic, fire extinguisher.
  22. Replied. I think those are fake, by that I mean real candy with no THC. The THC versions are labelled TRRLLI
  23. So recent experience indicates that the average door-to-door processing time might be six weeks. Which aligns with the stated target ("five to six weeks") by the USEMB/BKK. Previously, ca. 2021 and before it was more like two or three weeks. I wonder what part of the process changed? Six weeks is fine, certainly better than if in the U.S. (with or without expediting), just need to be aware of that for planning purposes re: extension renewals, travel, etc.
