  1. How many jurors in a Delaware Civil case? Six, eight, twelve? How many in the negative? One or two? I'd settle (as Fox), or at least try, given it only takes one, or two jurors, to totally muck up the works. And who knows how Tucker, Sean and Rupert come across on the stand? HUGE roll of the dice. I can see any of these three having a "strawberries and metal-balls" moment on the stand. Or Tucker screaming "You can't handle the truth!" And as Dominion I might settle for $5 B (3X plus a kicker), and a bunch of written apologies from the Fox & Friends. Reason: see "works, mucking up of", above.
  2. Yeah. Makes about as much sense as the Second Amendment. I mean if you replace "guns" with "muskets" which required ~ 30 seconds to re-load. IMO, the Second Amendment should be interpreted in "originalist" format, so what ever weapons were availble then (~ 1780) are covered by the Second Amendment now. Tri-cornered hats, and well-regulated militias, are optional. And yes, if you really want a canon go for it.
  3. See also Bond v. Floyd https://supreme.justia.com/cases/federal/us/385/116/ The Supreme Court, in a unanimous decision, ordered the Georgia House of Representatives to permit Bond to take his seat. The Court held: Though a State may impose oath requirements on legislators, it cannot limit their capacity to express views on local or national policy. A majority of state legislators is not authorized to test the sincerity with which another duly elected legislator meets the requirement for holding office of swearing to support the Federal and State Constitutions. The State may not apply to a legislator a First Amendment standard stricter than that applicable to a private citizen. Although the present SCOTUS might not vote 9:0 given a similar case?
  4. First it was "Soft" power. Now it's "Wet" power.
  5. Yeah, I was taken back by the size of the fireplace. In Texas no less, where he probably has to crank the air after he lights the fireplace? But I was reminded of the fireplace in Charles Foster Kane's Xanadu.
  6. I think fully-automatic (single trigger pull firing multiple rounds) firearms will eventually be legal in all states, given the SCOTUS make-up and the majority's interpretation of the 2A. The first step is the removal of the bump-stock ban, overturned by the 5th Circuit 13:3, and which the Biden Administration/DoJ will appeal to SCOTUS. And SCOTUS will affirm the 5th Circuit's opinion. Biden appeals ruling against ban on gun bump stocks April 7 (Reuters) - President Joe Biden's administration on Friday asked the U.S. Supreme Court to hear its appeal of a lower court ruling against a federal ban on "bump stock" devices that enable semiautomatic weapons to fire like machine guns. In January, the New Orleans-based 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals sided with Cargill, concluding that the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), a U.S. Justice Department agency, impermissibly reclassified bump stocks as machine guns, which are forbidden under U.S. law. https://www.reuters.com/legal/biden-appeals-ruling-against-ban-gun-bump-stocks-2023-04-07/#:~:text=In January%2C the New Orleans, are forbidden under U.S. law. After that it's a slow (or fast?) march to fully auto weapons, and I can't see how any weapon could ever be banned. This would include grenade launchers, shoulder-fired missiles, drone-mounted firearms, drone-launched ordinance, etc. Even though I am not associated with a well-regulaed militia, you can't infringe on my right to own, use, walk around in public with any "arm". The National Firearms Act of 1934 banned the machine gun. https://homicide.northwestern.edu/docs_fk/homicide/laws/national_firearms_act_of_1934.pdf
  7. Depends on where they are on the grift scale. If they monetize their "beliefs" then they do not believe them. If they're just the normal useful idiots, then yes, they believe everything.
  8. I still think Fox will settle before the trial starts, but after the jury is selected (at this point). The question is, does Dominion want to settle, and what terms would they require? Presonally I'd demand a 7/24/265 continuously repeating chyron with the words: "We're lying sacks of excrement so believe us at your peril." And the occasional "Joe Biden won the 2020 election, so move on with your lives."
  9. The biggest issue with Justice Thomas', and his wife's, behavior is that the Framers assumed that SC Justices would be honest, noble and faithful to their oath. So they had no checks/balances (save the unlikely impeachment) on Supreme Court Justices. And now, of course, there is very little faith in the objectivity of SCOTUS. If Chief Justice Roberts had an ounce of integrity he would resign - this corruption, and the politicization of the court happened on his watch, and the same goes for Clarence Thomas.
  10. Uh-huh. Glean: obtain (information) from various sources, often with difficulty. Every article on this hack, including the one linked in the OP, mentioned the Mor Prom app/database. I found those with very little "gleaning". :rolleyes
  11. Could be. I signed up for my two GV numbers many years ago when I was in the U.S. and used existing mobile phone numbers for registration/verification procedures. I'd recommend asking a family member/friend to enroll in GV on your behalf.
  12. If, according to hard-line republicans, life begins at conception, and abortion is murder, why not just ban ALL abortions? And why not charge anyone remotely associated with an abortion with pre-meditated murder? Why is Gov. DeSantis and Florida going for a six week abortion limit? Are they condoning murder? Florida Senate passes 6-week abortion ban backed by DeSantis TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) — The Florida Senate on Monday approved a bill to ban abortions after six weeks, a measure supported by Gov. Ron DeSantis as the Republican prepares to launch his expected presidential candidacy. https://apnews.com/article/abortion-florida-desantis-election-637711bac2e45fd71ff9e3340fd95f3c
  13. More "hospitality"? Justice Thomas’s Wife Sets Up a Conservative Lobbying Shop Feb. 4, 2011 WASHINGTON The wife of Justice Clarence Thomas, who has raised her political profile in the last year through her outspoken conservative activism, is rebranding herself as a lobbyist and self-appointed “ambassador to the Tea Party movement.” An anonymous $500,000 donation to start up Liberty Central came from Harlan Crow, a Dallas real estate investor and Republican financier, Politico reported. Mr. Crow, reached by phone Friday, would not say whether he was the source of the money. “I disclose what I’m required by law to disclose,” he said, “and I don’t disclose what I’m not required to disclose.” https://www.nytimes.com/2011/02/05/us/politics/05thomas.html Inside the consulting firm run by Ginni Thomas, wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas Virginia “Ginni” Thomas, wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, runs a little-known consulting company. Some campaign watchdog groups say it could create yet another conflict of interest for her husband. “It’s very problematic,” Richard Painter, chief White House ethics lawyer in the George W. Bush administration, told CNBC in a recent phone interview in response to Thomas’ private consulting work. https://www.cnbc.com/2022/04/05/inside-the-consulting-firm-run-by-ginni-thomas-wife-of-supreme-court-justice-clarence-thomas.html
  14. A court has lifted any restrictions on Chuwit attacking the BJT party, and their pro-cannabis stand.
  15. This has about the same chance of passing in the next Parliamentary session as the Cannabis Control Act.
  16. I think this was the Mor Prom app/database, so quite a bit of detail on vaccinated foreigners as well.
  17. Washington judge orders FDA to not suspend abortion pill approval A federal judge in Washington state on Friday ordered the Food and Drug Administration to not roll back its approval of a widely used abortion drug, siding with a group of Democratic state attorneys general who challenged dispensing restrictions. Driving the news: The decision directly conflicted with another federal judge's ruling at almost the same time that put the FDA's approval of the drug, mifepristone, in jeopardy nationwide. The developments left the agency in an unusual legal bind and increased the odds that the matter will be considered by the Supreme Court. https://www.axios.com/2023/04/08/washington-judge-abortion-pills-texas Great, again an unchecked SCOTUS gets to tell the FDA how to approve drugs for safe use. Republicans are so far out over their skis and out of touch with the population they will become irrelavant.
  18. Taibi didn't seem ready, or committed, to be Elon's tool.
  19. Skin color seems to be the primary issue, in the case of the Tennessee legislature, given the reults of the explusion votes.
  20. I think that it is good that Tennesseean Republicans are showing both their constituents and the whole nation what racism and facism looks like in real time. You have to face a problem before any healing can take place. And we're far, far, far from aknowledging the "original sin". So I say thank you to these Republicans, for showing us who you really are. “When people show you who they are, believe them the first time." Maya Angelou “The Arc of the Moral Universe is Long, But it Bends Toward Justice.” Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. (longer in Tennessee)
  21. I'm sure Chief Justice Roberts will conduct a full inquiry, as he did with the Dobb's leak, of Justice Thomas' dealings.
  22. It doesn't matter what I call it, and until details are published (never) I still contend that it is no more or less problematic than all of the giveaways the Prayut regime has handed out in six-ish years. 14.5 million people are currently on the dole. UTN (Prayuth) is also pushing more/increased welfaer payments. PPRP (Prawit) is pushing increased welfare stipends.
  23. He is not opposed to legal cannabis. If he were he would not rent out space in his Davis Hotel to a Cannabis Dispensary. He is opposed to the Chidchobs with whom he's had a running feud for decades. He also craves attention. Like most things here these feuds are more about family, clan, which part of China your ancestors came from, failed business dealings....
  24. And of course, the Notifications we receive. "Somebody" seems to react to evey single one of my posts. somebody reacted to a post in a topic Chuwit vows to continue his crusade against the Bhumjaithai Party and marijuana despite order I assume it's some "engagement" tactic (setting) meant to encourage participation.
  25. At least he "urged" and didn't "threaten".
