  1. Can be done online, register (upload 2 docs: passport + colored book), then file. Screenshot of record is sufficient proof of compliance. Quite a few threads on this new TM30 website. https://tm30.immigration.go.th/tm30/#/external/security/register/reg-web But it might be simpler to file in person? https://www.pattayamail.com/latestnews/news/chonburi-immigration-bureau-tightens-address-reporting-442911
  2. Based on that Pattaya Mail article it does sound like Pattaya-Jomtien and Sri Racha Immigration offices have made a "procedural" change which contradicts the Gazetted rules from 2020. must now have a TM30 immigration receipt in their passport issued after their most recent entry to Thailand by air or land or sea. A TM30 receipt issued before the last entry to Thailand will be regarded as out-of-date and no longer acceptable. The article goes on to say that Foreigners in other areas of Thailand need to check the specific regulations of TM30 in operation there. So this new procedure may not apply in every office?
  3. It looks like they just slid Russia over into the 90 day column. temporarily, in the Bilateral section What about the Russians who are already stamped in? Can they get automatic 60 day extensions? And can this 90 day permission to stay be extended? The problem with these ad hoc, random temporary visa extensions is that they give people little time to prepare/plan a trip. So the net effects are probably limited. The biggest shocker in this announcement was that Srettha plans to meet with Putin tomorrow. Maybe this visa extension thing is a gift Srettha can hand to Putin for some goodwill? An informed source told Thai PBS World that Srettha will meet Putin on Wednesday afternoon, after he attends the opening ceremony of the Belt and Road Forum. On Thursday, before he leaves Beijing, he will also meet Chinese President Xi Jinping. It will be the first such meeting for both leaders. https://www.thaipbsworld.com/thai-pm-will-meeting-with-putin-in-beijing-on-wednesday/#:~:text=An informed source told Thai, such meeting for both leaders.
  4. I haven't seen a single person standing (in Bangkok) even before COVID. And I've been to ~ 30 movies, some quite packed. AFAIK it is not required by law. The text on the screen says something like "kindly request you stand". Yes, way back in the day some ultra-Nationalist may have filed a charge against someone who didn't stand. I'm surprised there hasn't been a crack-down on this. Round up a few people, charge them and scare the rest on the people into compliance. Thai people have very outlets to express their feelings and opinions - without being jailed of course - so they take them where they can.
  5. Maybe not but some of the published figures have Thailand near the top of the table for deceased (28) and held hostage (17). Perhaps they were placed in the most forward farms?
  6. The RTAF "bought" one A340/500 from TG for $50 million back in May 2016. The RTAF has operated that aircraft as a VVIP service, it flew mainly between Germany and Thailand. So the RTAF has/d qualified pilots, just not enough for these increased service intervals to TLV. I think they're fishing for potential pilots who could get re-qualified in short order?
  7. Khaosod English/FB UPDATE: The Air Force said on Saturday after dispatching its first flight to Israel late last night it's looking for Thai Airways pilots who can fly Airbus A-340 to Tel Aviv to evacuate Thai workers. The Airforce said they don't have enough pilots to fly the plane and need commercial pilots to help to ensure adequate crew resting time as over 5,000 Thais stranded in Israel want to return home. I think the aircraft will be returning to UTP?
  8. LY84 BKK-TLV yesterday... https://www.flightradar24.com/data/flights/ly84#326dcfe6 The RTAF A340 (HS-TYV) is a military flight so this makes routing more challenging, when factoring in getting permissions with short notice. For a commercial flight it would be easier, more direct. I infer that the 9-country route is necessary until they can negotiate the more direct four-country route?
  9. More like nine countries... Laos, China, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Turkey, Cyprus
  10. I think your wife should file a TM30 for you. But as this has not come up in your previous extensions of stay applications it may be that your office does not require or enforce the need for a TM30? If the Imm office is nearby maybe both of you could stop by and ask about the requirement to file a TM30. Your wife could register on the new online site and then file a report for you, or file in person. https://tm30.immigration.go.th/tm30/#/external/security/register/reg-web
  11. Some recommend using 31/12/2039, which may be the latest date which that field will accept. I used that date. Party like it's 2040. I have no doubt that it works, but it appears to be a potential loophole which someone may exploit, and then we'll be jumping through a different hoop. Or maybe maybe someone will be verifying the supporting documents? Note that some offices apparently process on-line 90-day reports automatically and give an instantaneous approval.
  12. It is disappointing that Imm/CW isn't more forgiving given there is some issue processing on-line 90-day reports. Yes, I understand that rules are rules. It would be good to understand why your application was rejected, given it was a copy/paste from the previous successful filing. Twenty days doesn't give you much of a cushion, just two-ish which if they occur on a weekend/Monday holiday could lead to a fine. FWIW the FB gurus recommend cancelling the Pending application on-line just prior to filing in person.
  13. They must have some visibility into load factors from airline bookings and hotel bookings. I'm not sure how much a promotional campaign, or having entertainment venues remaining open until 04:00 will have on this upcoming High Season? I mean most people have made their travel plans already. Based on all the activity in the past week or so revolving around tourist promotions I do smell fear and desperation.
  14. Maybe they do surveys of tourists to identify things that can be improved? And maybe a significant number of tourists expressed an interest in entertainment venues remaining open later? And maybe more tourists will come to Thailand because of the late-night entertainment opportunities? But I doubt it. This is being pushed by the operators of these venues. And that's fine. Just don't pretend it's about "tourism". My concern is that folks who work in these establishments are not exploited. Pay them more than minimum wage, pay 1.5x for the extra two hours. Provide extra for transportation (home after work when transpo options may be limited).
  15. Similar near instantaneous approval of my registration, which leads me to believe that no verification was actually made. Hopefully this will not lead to problems down the road. With the old system my vaguest recollection was that it took some number of days or even a couple of weeks to get approval, maybe there was some check at local district/sub-district government offices.
  16. Police Regulations re: refiling of a TM30 in the case where a foreigner returns to the same address were Gazetted 16 June 2020, effective 30 June 2020. http://www.ratchakitcha.soc.go.th/DATA/PDF/2563/E/141/T_0001.PDF 2.2 When the host Owner or occupant of the dwelling or hotel manager The notification according to 2.1 has been processed. Later, the foreigners traveled to stay at other places from time to time and returned. Staying in the same place of residence within a period of residence that has not yet ended. Landlord Owner or the occupant of the dwelling or hotel manager No need to notify again. Foreigners according to the first paragraph shall include foreigners who have received A visa that can be used multiple times to travel outside the Kingdom and re-enter according to age. Visa inspection and aliens who are allowed to re-enter the Kingdom according to their original rights (Reentry permit) https://www.mazars.co.th/Home/Insights/Doing-Business-in-Thailand/Legal/Notification-of-place-of-residence-Form-TM302 I understand that offices can implement policies and procedures which appear to contradict the written policy.
  17. https://www.ais-amazingthailandsim.com/ Terms & Conditions International call via IDD prefix 00300 starting at 1 baht Not allow to change main promotion Not allow to convert Prepaid to Postpaid Not allow to port out To maintain the service quality and to offer efficient services to all our users in general, the company reserves the right to manage our network as deemed appropriate. The company reserves the right to change the details without prior notice. I think you get 8 GB of data complimentary over some trial period, but having trouble finding details so soon after announcement. Maybe some limited number of call minutes?
  18. Big Joke has been given a new portfolio: Head of Security and Special Affairs. And replaced in his old position. Not sure but this may be a mini-sidelining? According to Archayon, Surachate “Big Joke” Hakparn, who was previously in charge of investigations has been put in charge of security and special affairs. The post left vacant by Surachate has been filled by Pol Lt-General Than Chuwong, the spokesman added. https://www.nationthailand.com/thailand/general/40031580
  19. Meh. They can blame the powerful people who stopped this.
  20. I think any potential tax liability is tied to your tax residency in Thailand? More than 180 days = potential liability. Maybe just expand on your "point", and plans.
  21. Maybe stop being coy and just tell us what your Plan B is? It's back there, on the back burner bubbling away, just look in and tell us what you got cooking.
  22. Most holders of the levers of power here (legislative, business, financial, judicial, academic, ultra-royalists) seem to be against this scheme. Maybe Krungthai Bank is on board as they will manage the disbursements. Might it survive in some limited fashion as a welfare scheme? Maybe. But the original proposal was flawed and no one really believed in it, so it's toast.
  23. OK, so that's your Plan B? Assuming you have fixed expenses in Thailand with a spouse, you'll be adding additional expenses living in Laos for 185 days. You may spend more doing that than potentially paying some taxes in Thailand?
  24. What is your Plan B? Live in Laos for 185 days each year?
