  1. Reason du Jour: Change in crew haircut rule aimed at protecting police working in deep South https://www.nationthailand.com/thailand/general/40031852 There's always more to the story, no clue what it might be with this one?
  2. Based on my limited experience I think that message shows while you are creating a new record, after which you would SAVE it. Maybe it shows during Search activities, but I don't remember.
  3. Not sure that makes sense? You can only "search" the Check In date back 7 days (error message provided), whereas the Date of Inform fields can be widely adjusted. Not being able to search more than seven days back hardly seems like a "main search criteria"? But I am often wrong.
  4. I thought that the record search was done via a date range in the Date of Inform fields? From, To. That works for me. To me it looks like that range can be greater than one week? On the old system the search range was limited to one week.
  5. I think VAT was 10% back in the '90s. Since 1997 it has been lowered to and kept at 7% annually. This figure was rolled over for "one more year" through 30 September 2024. https://aseannow.com/topic/1306538-cabinet-agrees-to-keep-vat-at-7-for-another-year/ Chuwit claims that Srettha was adept at dodging taxes. And other sordid deeds. https://tna.mcot.net/english-news-1217536 https://www.nationthailand.com/thailand/politics/40030328
  6. Undercover officers, RTP or ISOC were exempted from the haircut regulations.
  7. Every day opposition to this scheme increases. It will be interesting to see who blinks first. Some talk yesterday about "the rich" being excluded. I think Srettha is way out of his depth here, he - I think - really believes that this will stimulate the economy. And "believers", who are often wrong, are unwilling to compromise. It will be easy to stall this, either via the legislature or the courts.
  8. I do not think it is outside the realm of possibilities that.. Banks withhold some percentage (10%? 20%) of any/all funds remitted to accounts from off-shore and forwards that to the RD. Immigration requires a document from the RD before any extensions are processed.
  9. Weird that this is such a recurring thing with the RTP. https://www.khaosodenglish.com/politics/2017/11/20/new-buzz-cuts-imposed-thai-police-soldiers/ And strange because the current "904" cut style was said to be ordered from on high.
  10. It looks like El Al is operating TLV-BKK, at least six flights per week (X FR). Some Thais are returning to BKK on this flight today. Plenty of seats available. I assume many of the Israeli tourists here flew in on El Al, and have a return ticket in hand. I understand that some/many may not wish to return in the near term.
  11. I think the days of apps for Immigration are over. And the bulk of the TM30 filings are done by hotels, via the Excel upload feature. ~ 18 million international arrivals to date. Just use a browser, on a phone. The 90-Day Immigration eservices app is dead. Sec 38 is dead. Obviously that TM6 app is dead.
  12. This is the bedrock of the Thai Social System, based on Sakdina and codified with the Law of the Three Seals. Granted, it is abused, but what's the point of having power if you can't abuse it? It will NEVER change. Why would the Powers-that-Be allow it?
  13. Me too, but their process has changed, IME. The return envelope showed up - I could not track it - and I noticed a second EMS sticker pasted over my original EMS sticker purchased at the PO. After that I just added 40 baht in stamps to the return envelope and wrote "Via EMS" on it.
  14. While leaping into action is admirable, I have to ask what these 800 officers were doing before being assigned to this crackdown. And will those tasks go unattended while the illegal gun trade is mopped up? Will the drug trade expand, not that it can very much as it seems to be running at full capacity? Have all the Influential People been categorized? I think there is pressure to make it look like the government is "doing something" about the gun supply, so this may be more theatre than anything else.
  15. I'm not certain that RTAF (ex-TG/HS-TYV) A340 is air-worthy? It was deemed unacceptable for the PMs vacation to NYC; he needed a TG A350. I think it was used in May to ferry that hit-man (Mathew Dupre) from Vancouver back to Thailand for prosecution? And then the last flight was in August for a MUC-BKK flight. But maybe it's OK for a flight to TLV?
  16. People plan vacations well ahead of their departure, very few travel on a whim with short notice. I doubt this decrease is due to last-minute cancellations, owing to security concerns.
  17. The government is deeply involved in the labor supply to Israel, so it is good that they recognize their responsibilities regarding the welfare of these tens of thousands of citizens. Hence the Minister of Labor is involved in dealing with the resulting problems caused by this attack. Israel signs pact to recruit 25,000 more Thai workers The governments of Israel and Thailand signed an agreement in Jerusalem today (July 13) to recruit a fresh batch of 25,000 Thais for agricultural work in the Middle East country, a press statement said. https://www.nationthailand.com/business/30391209 https://israel.mol.go.th/en/info/labor-information
  18. Selective application of the law, with significant punishment, keeps the public in line. This way you only have to jail a small percentage of the population, while frightening the rest into self-censorship. All individual rights "guaranteed" (cough) by the Constitution are severely limited, and open to "interpretation". Section 34. A person shall enjoy the liberty to express opinions, make speeches, write, print, publicise and express by other means. The restriction of such liberty shall not be imposed, except by virtue of the provisions of law specifically enacted for the purpose of maintaining the security of the State, protecting the rights or liberties of other persons, maintaining public order or good morals, or protecting the health of the people. So Thais have the right of free speech as long as they don't say anything.
  19. New entry point Bangkok Div 1 https://bangkok.immigration.go.th/en/onlineservice-and-publicguide/ Queue Online leads to the link I provided.
  20. Khaosod English reported yesterday there were "about a total of 30,000 Thais in Israel", with ~ 5,000 in affected areas.
  21. https://gov.immigration1.queueonline.net/appointment/login.html?v27 works for me, submit email, get OTP, then make appointment.
  22. Make a "plan" to go to CW tomorrow, but change your mind in the morning. The next report date slip will show up with your EMS driver. ???? So you bought a 37 baht EMS slip for your return envelope at the post office when you were mailing in your paperwork? If so, that tracking number is not applicable. They will stick a new EMS slip, with a different tracking number on it, over yours for the return trip. So there is no way to track the return envelope.
  23. The 'Newest' TM47/90-Report Website is coming up on the second anniversary, that can be gleaned from the top-most pinned post. I think that the a New Passport requires one to file the first 90-day report in person. After that you can file on-line.
  24. Not sure about that calendar image I think that was from the old site's/app's user's guide? Here, the User's Guide for the new system says... Submit a request in advance before the due date for the next report within 15 days. https://tm47.immigration.go.th/manual/IndexForeign.html https://tm47.immigration.go.th/tm47/#/login
  25. What is your reporting office? Some, many, most seem to turn around on-line filings quite quickly, a few days at most. But there is an acknowledged problem at CW. I think I've seen a report or two here or on FB which indicate some improvement in response times at CW, but waiting to see more.
