  1. Found the Sherrings link, but cannot find the Mazzars link. If you or anyone has that handy I'd appreciate a repost. Thank you VERY much. I did not realize that those brackets were stair-stepped. I should have deduced this based on the bracketing in the table. Does anyone know if receiving banks will make any deductions upon remittance? And will Immigration require a gross or net (after any potential tax deduction) monthly figure for the 65,000 requirement? Is there any deduction for medical expenses?
  2. Can you elaborate on how you arrived at this ~3,600 THB per month tax figure? At 65,000 per month that puts you in the 20% Thai RD bracket, which is more like 13,000 THB per month.
  3. The convict has millions of admirers who are truly concerned about the health of their 'leader'. IMO, the convict's family is doing a disservice by leaving them wondering about his health status. At least say that he is recovering as expected and will be up and about quickly after this most recent operation.
  4. Just to be clear, they were caring for crops, picking fruit. The Thai government - not this one, but the Prayut regime - made this mess by agreeing to supply 25,000+ workers to Israel. And the Ministry of Labor "facilitated" the supply of Thai citizens. After two Thais were killed in a previous (May 2021) Hamas rocket attack, it was said that Thai workers would no longer be allowed in the areas close to Gaza. Obviously, that didn't stick. The current government needs to be doing more, a lot more. Both to get these folks home and to clear their debts. Where else are there a lot of Thai workers in potential jeopardy?
  5. The obvious candidates are a joint replacement, or maybe a rounding off of his square noggin? The question remains, why have a surgery like this here? At the Police Hospital? And not some top-of-the-line hospital elsewhere, either in Thailand or another country? Unless it was some sort of emergency? In that photo where he was on a stretcher supposedly heading for an MRI he looked a bit distressed. But I guess if it was an emergency they might have taken him to Bumrungrad, or his own hospital Praram 9.
  6. Time to take a pillow to this scheme. Like the submarine "deal", this "scheme" will end badly. I think PArliament, the judiciary, and the anti-corruption agencies will all align against this one. It's dead.
  7. Thanks for fixing this.
  8. I think the most recent projection was for February 2024, for release. I suspect something closer to New Year's, if not sooner. Full pardon for an end-of-year present, or home confinement through Feb.
  9. Hardly seems fair to grill the current Defense Minister, just because he has been left holding the bag (which is devoid of cash because his predecessor took it already). But what can you do? Now who was the Minister of Defense when this deal was struck? Oh, right, Prayut Chan-Ocha. Maybe question him.
  10. I too enjoyed this three-part prequel. I was sure I wouldn't but I was hooked. And yes, the soundtrack certainly stood out, right from the get-go: I Feel Love by Donna Summer. https://screenrant.com/the-continental-soundtrack-song-guide/
  11. I'd recommend booking an appointment for the grace period, just as a backup.
  12. I'm beginning to think that the convict is in much worse condition than we've been led to believe. This is his second operation in ~ the last five weeks, according to press reports and his daughter. It was reported ~ 19 Sep 2023, by the convict's daughter, that he had an operation "last week" (week of 10-16 Sep 2023?) It is amazing that when people start questioning the legitimacy of his hospitalization, instead of incarceration, some medical issue or treatment arises. Strange because he looked quite vibrant and healthy when he was on his jet heading into DMK.
  13. There were a reported 30,000 Thai workers in Israel prior to the hostilities. So ~ 10% so far (incl. students), long way to go. Israeli employers are said to be offering Thai workers financial incentives to stay and work. While the PM is encouraging everyone tor return home.
  14. So what makes Russians deserving of 90 day visa exemption?? My guess would be the Bilateral Agreement made between the two countries in 2005 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The Russian FM at the time was Sergei Lavrov. So Thais can visit Russia without a visa, but are currently limited to 30 days unless Russia has also extended the period? The change for Russians from 30 to 90 days was done because of the winter weather in Russia, we were told.
  15. Yeah, I'm not a lawyer nor am I familiar with Thai laws regarding a patient's privacy. I will only note that the convict is incarcerated and in the care of the State. As a prisoner, these rights may not be 100% applicable. All I'm asking for is that the convict, his family, his doctors, and the Minister of Justice get together and release some information. For example, is his condition improving? Stable? Deteriorating? More information will assure the public that the convict is not receiving special treatment. The lack of transparency causes confusion and mistrust for the public.
  16. Bodies Netflix I'm 4 eps in and can recommend this. Can't comment much without spoiling, better to experience it with no foreknowledge 9/10. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QrJUDWRDTos Enjoying Bosch: Legacy S02 Freevee. 4 eps in, two released per week. Classic Bosch. 9/10 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bZpfJIpH0No As with John Wick, Lance Reddick is missed. Also enjoying Lessons in Chemistry, Apple TV+, but few here might find it interesting.
  17. Srettha seems to have also assumed the role of Minister of Foreign Affairs. I mean it's no worse than the clown show that preceded him, but still.
  18. From the linked article... The Knight’s Ring tradition was initially introduced by Pol Gen Phao Sriyanon, who served as director-general of the Police Department from 1951 to 1957. The Knight’s ring, made of gold and adorned with a police cap emblem, was a symbol of recognition for law enforcers who demonstrated courage in suppressing crime and contributed significantly to the progress of the force. However, the Knight’s ring tradition was discontinued after Pol Gen Phao fled to Switzerland following the 1957 coup and subsequently passed away in exile. Pol Gen Phao Sriyanon's Wiki https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phao_Siyanon Police terror Phao was promoted to the position of director of the police in 1951, by which time he had become one of the country's all-powerful triumvirate. A client of the CIA, Phao received funds and hardware to build his personal fortune, as well as the expertise of US paramilitaries such as James William Lair to turn the police into an alternative force to oppose his military rival, Sarit Thanarat. Phao established an intimate circle of police officers, known generally as the "knights of the diamond ring", which was notorious for its treatment of opponents of the government and the police generals, even resorting to assassination and murder. Their crimes were many: He sounds like a wonderful person to represent the finest of the RTP.
  19. My guess? "Approximately" ten. The remaining ~ four passed away in Songkhla?
  20. I think they need to release some details on the convict's medical condition(s). Yes, I know they've invoked privacy concerns but the convict is a public figure, and the public needs to be assured that the "system" is not being bent in his favor. I recall many times when Rama 9 was hospitalized when Doctors gave lengthy briefings on his condition. Even general statements like "his health is improving/stable/getting worse". Radio silence on this matter does no one any good, even the convict.
  21. You do realize how Monarchs are chosen, right? The fake nature of "Respect" here, and it's all for show, and its abuse, is part of the Thai social contract. Without it, society would collapse. At least that's what the the folks near the top of the pyramid want you to beleieve.
  22. Has there ever been a final report on the sinking of the HTMS Sukhothai?
  23. You have a previously filed TM30 on the old system? Right? That should (may?) be sufficient. And you could try to refile on the new system, seems like you didn't get through it on your first try, based on your details in other threads?
