Thick haze shrouds Bangkok and vicinity this morning
bamnutsak replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
PM probably regrets leaving Davos, where the AQI is a whopping 26. -
And this is a daily flight, with each day probably close to being overbooked, so passengers pile up quite quickly. And you've got to get that aircraft back in service ASAP. Looks like it (HS-TKV) departed +26:45 as TG917D https://www.flightradar24.com/data/aircraft/hs-tkv#33a48997 Aircraft is a Boeing 777-3D7(ER). https://www.planespotters.net/airframe/boeing-777-300er-hs-tkv-thai-airways-international/ropv79

So the sticker thing has been addressed and eliminated? I assume trucks overloaded with meth and illegally imported pork are free to pass.

Define "lots". Sales to people under twenty years old are currently illegal. The situation you "highlight" simply requires ENFORCEMENT. Both on the cannabis front and the truancy front. Of course, it is, what a silly thing to "point out". What "point" are we missing? Young adults under 20 should not be consuming cannabis, meth or alcohol.

Been there, done that.

https://www.nationthailand.com/thailand/tourism/40034718 Data from U.S.-based vacation rental company Airbnb has Vietnam absent from the list of top 10 favorite winter destinations for Chinese tourists this year, while Thailand now ranks number one. Japan came second on the list of 20 most searched countries by Chinese tourists for 2023-2024 winter holidays. The statistics come from searches on the Airbnb platform by mainland China users from Jan. 1, 2023 to Sept. 30, 2023. The searches were for winter outbound stays with check-in dates between Dec. 22. 2023 and Feb. 29, 2024. https://e.vnexpress.net/news/places/vietnam-absent-from-top-winter-destinations-for-chinese-tourists-airbnb-4701652.html#:~:text=Data from U.S.-based vacation,Thailand now ranks number one.&text=Japan came second on the,for 2023-2024 winter holidays. Not seeing a distinction between hotels and condos in other articles referencing this "data".

Does using a VPN impact online banking?
bamnutsak replied to BananaBandit's topic in IT and Computers
So you can successfully log-in ~ 50% of the time using a VPN? If so, not sure the VPN is the issue? Which 2FA options do you use? I'd try NOT using a VPN, and use the Schwab app for 2FA. Schwab also supports SMS for 2FA. Do you have a US-based SIM registered with Schwab? -
"Suggested" by whom? Thai law and enforcement are "flexible", so we'll have to see how the Police are advised and directed. The current draft does stipulate a 60,000 (up to) baht fine and up to one year in prison for recreational use. You'd need to possess cannabis to recreationally use it. Thailand has already moved on to hard drugs, so no worries about Cannabis being a "gateway" drug. If anything, Meth (Yaba) is the sole gateway drug here. I don't think so. The message has been very, very, very clear, consistent and concise. Absolutely no recreational use. Medical use ONLY. No need for guessing.

This is called, among other things, Weed Salad. Not something I'd do, a bit like mixing three or more different wines. Can you do it? Sure. Why? Even if you stumbled on the curated blend of the century you can't replicate it. As long as you enjoy it that is all that matters.

Does anyone know where he is now? Has he been formally released? It will be interesting to see how they manage the reveal, in the final episode of this Lakorn, when that happens. Maybe a bedside interview, where he can be made to look tired and 'recovery'. How soon before he's back to his arrival condition? A few months? Three decisions from yesterday showed that this country currently has no rule of law to uphold. https://www.thaienquirer.com/51579/opinion-three-disturbing-legal-decisions-highlight-erosion-of-rule-of-law-in-the-country/

Probably not, pretty sure most TG aircraft top out at Business class these days; and it looked like J in his photos. Hopefully, when he returns to Bangkok and leaves his "wallet" in the taxi, a fine upstanding taxi driver will return it.

He did fly commercial on this trip, he made a big deal about that on his social media.

Fixing Thai education is not just a matter of money
bamnutsak replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Peel 30% off the top for graft, theft, and kickbacks. It's not the most corrupt ministry; seems like everyone feasts on this one unlike the usual where only a few top dogs get the bulk of the skim. That's why the comparisons with other countries' metrics (money spent/results) are so bad for Thailand. But then this is the goal, so let's give them a Thai "A" as a grade. A Thai "A" is a D+. -
Juvenile violence sparks national police chief’s call for tougher laws
bamnutsak replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
This knee-jerk response, building more prisons, to increased crime rates is to be expected from the Police, and the powers-that-be. That's the only box they can think in. God forbid they improve the education system or the judicial system.
