Thailand to tackle declining birth rate as national issue
bamnutsak replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
This calls for a "Super" Committee. If people felt positive about the future of the country they'd be inclined to parent more children. -

Thai cabinet to decide on Chinese-built submarine purchase
bamnutsak replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
This tub has been officially named HTMS Money Pit. There is no money in the 2024 budget for this folly, so I'm not certain what the "cabinet" can do? -

Given the weather issues I would suspect Trump supporters would walk through a nuclear blast zone to get to make the 7:00 PM deadline. Desantis and Haley "supporters" lack that fervor.

Does using a VPN impact online banking?
bamnutsak replied to BananaBandit's topic in IT and Computers
How many times did you access your account successfully in this period? Two times? Twenty? Why do you need to use a VPN? https://international.schwab.com/expatriate-essentials https://www.reddit.com/r/Schwab/comments/rsw57n/schwab_is_removing_email_as_a_2fa_when_logging_in/?rdt=39122 It looks like Schwab offers several 2FA options. Proprietary token, Symantec app. The simplest may be using the mobile app? https://www.schwab.com/content/htc-mobile-verification -
At this time, medical cannabis is limited as a treatment to six conditions, per the Department of Traditional Medicine (DTAM), within the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH). DMS’s guidance for the use of cannabinoids product. Medical cannabis benefits for six conditions include: neuropathic pain, chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting, intractable epilepsy, spasticity from multiple sclerosis, AIDS-related cachexia, and palliative care conditions May be beneficial for conditions including generalized anxiety disorder, Parkinson disease, Alzheimer disease, and demyelinating disease Might be beneficial for cancer treatment, but more information and research are needed To expand the medical cannabis treatment program the Minister has a lot of work to do. And to restrict or eliminate recreational use, Cannabis flower (any production, sale, possession, use) will have to be re-criminalized.

Reporting office? I would register for the NEW TM30 system, and file a NEW TM30. After that, you may be able to use the 90-Day reporting system successfully. For the current report just go in person. Does your reporting office require an appointment? Seems like you could go on Monday. But yes, the grace period is seven calendar days so you'll be fine.

What's your favorite strain for work, sleep & going out?
bamnutsak replied to shocky2012's topic in Thailand Cannabis Forum
Understood, but that's the nature and evolution of the current market here. IMO, one can do a bit of research on strains, and then start looking for those strains from reliable suppliers. All that can be done in an hour or so. Not as easy as having your maid sort it out, but not really that challenging. -
What's your favorite strain for work, sleep & going out?
bamnutsak replied to shocky2012's topic in Thailand Cannabis Forum
Likely Durban Poison, a legendary pure Sativa. Maybe look for other Sativa-dominant strains, like the OP mentioned: Jack Herer, or Sour Diesel, anything with "Haze" in the strain name. In theory, local Thai Sativa landrace would give similar feelings. -
Rejected at Nong Kai border for unknown reason

Can you elaborate on this assertion? -
Rejected at Nong Kai border for unknown reason
bamnutsak replied to siwiek's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I think the BP requirement is a result of the TM6 being "retired". There may be a mandatory field for arriving flight information (carrier/flight no.), and IOs are instructed to verify this. I would think a mobile BP would be acceptable provided it showed your name and flight details. -
Doesn't this violate medical privacy "laws"? As critics get closer to "looking behind the curtain", more details are leaked, and the condition(s) become more severe. Who do they think they're fooling? I mean, other than themselves.

Senior labour official denies DSI’s allegation of human trafficking
bamnutsak replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
And let's not talk about the 30,000 Thai workers trafficked who were "encouraged" by the government to go to Israel. Very shady dealings there as well. These workers are among some 30,000 Thai nationals living in Israel and working mainly in agriculture. Among them, about 5,000 are in the immediate vicinity of the troubled Gaza Strip. During the government of Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-o-cha, Thai workers were encouraged to participate in the “Thailand-Israel Cooperation on the Placement of Workers (TIC)” project to work in the agricultural sector. This cooperation has been running for 17 rounds. https://www.khaosodenglish.com/politics/2023/10/09/thais-have-been-supported-to-work-in-israel-before-the-attack/ -

I remember a story in The Nation from 2017 which said there were 100,000 undocumented Thais in the U.S. There are some accomplished Thai "Dreamers" (DACA). https://www.thaipbsworld.com/thai-among-dreamers-celebrating-us-court-ruling-over-daca/ I think many are concerned about Human Trafficking as a result of relaxed or visa-free travel for Thais to the U.S. Thai Woman Pleads Guilty to Her Role in International Sex Trafficking Conspiracy https://www.justice.gov/usao-mn/pr/thai-woman-pleads-guilty-her-role-international-sex-trafficking-conspiracy Thirty-Six Defendants Sentenced For Their Roles In International Thai Sex Trafficking Organization https://www.justice.gov/usao-mn/pr/thirty-six-defendants-sentenced-their-roles-international-thai-sex-trafficking I think the Ministry of Foreign Affairs should probably lead the charge in appealing to other countries to allow Thai citizens to travel visa-free. Having the PM popping off is probably not helpful.

TM47 - 90 days - "first time"
bamnutsak replied to glegolo18's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
This may be reporting-office dependent, so share that or go ask in person. IME, CW, in the same circumstances, no. I was able to successfully file on-line. There have been some indications (my opinion) that having filed a TM30 on the new system leads to seamless and quick TM47 on-line application and approval. YMMV.
