  1. Trump broke precedent of no USA president meeting with NK dictators. How was that strategy working for the world? Trump gave nothing more than the respect of meeting face to face and downsizing or delaying some joint military exercises with SK as a de-escalation gesture. Sanctions remained and others have been increased.
Carry on with the Orangeman Bad narrative and he may not get re-elected but on the other hand the media and those mocking him may just be fueling his winning just like they did in 2016.
I don’t hear as many questions if he’ll finish out the 4 year term lately. The conversation seems to have moved to will he get 4 more years.

  2. Isn’t it funny - a country where so called “public servants” paid by our tax money play children’s games and don’t feel the need to inform the public - who has every right to know why thousands of people are moved to so called “inactive posts” - doing nothing - for political reasons while still leeching on our tax money!

I can’t see many Thais agreeing you have a right to anything here, even if you were to achieve citizenship you’d still be a foreigner.
The taxes you pay are considered part of the privilege for living here along with dual pricing at temples and parks.
  3. I wouldnt have thought rural land has appreciated up here at all, not unless its within 30km from a decent size city. Anywhere where there is little work or anything to do the land may be valued at whatever but near impossible to sell. I do agree with you though about the village loans and the inabillity for small subsistence farmers to survive. Village I lived in the lady owned the processing depot loved to loan money to people with small farms, particularly 5 or 6 in a row. Id hear them say she was stupid. They of course wouldnt even make the first payment. At more than 10% a month interest over even a year a small loan would have increased to a point where it could never be repaid. Shed show up with the bikies one day and give them a day to clear out. I never felt sorry for them as their own intentions were bad and they thought they were cheating the loan shark

Maybe I used rural wrong as it’s 10 km from Muang Phon and there’s nothing but rice fields and villages of 200 or 300 people in sight which makes 250,000 baht a rai pretty steep.
  4. Up here in rural Issan a lot of money is gotten from bank borrowings against land titles to pay off other bad debt or buy toys and as the price of rice fields in the sticks has skyrocketed there’s begun to be a lot of legacy land being sold creating new wealth.
Recently an older friend of ours, the local tinker sold 8 rai on the edge of a vintage tiny village for 2 million baht. Someone’s invested in bringing in a lot of dirt, put up barbed wire fencing, a few open lean to buildings and stocked hay. Looks to be some type of livestock, cattle farm coming.
The price of a standard razed lot, maybe 25m x 75m (guessing) inside our evolving little city is going for 4 million baht and it’s away from the roundabout prime area.

  5. And what makes you think they do not exsist. Bacteria and virus did not exisist until they came up with the insteruments to see these things

You mean like the time she called me in the USA a bit freaked out because every morning she left the dip bath water box upstairs full and each night when she would go upstairs it was half empty and nobody else had been inside our home,,there must be something supernatural happening?
Turns out she would leave the shower spray hose in the box and there was a leak in the supply piping under the house that was siphoning the water out of the box.
One ghost killed as eventually she understood the disappearing water mystery but only one. All the others are alive and well .

  6. Speaking directly to the iPhone it’s perceived as a quality device and the ecosystem, iTunes, iMessages, FaceTime etc are feature distinctions from android would be my understanding.
We have standing offers to buy my wife’s used phone in the future as they know I will upgrade hers every few years. Currently a niece has dibs on the X I brought months before they were available in Thailand.
Her brother got the 6 and a friend took the 5 before that.
We sell them for more than the Apple sellers will give me on a trade back and people are happy to pay because they know her and feel confident she’s taken good care of it.
