Hey!!! I love it. I absolutely cannot believe I have never even heard of this guy. Interesting that Fagen and Becker were the ones who got him signed. Awesome funky music with hilarious lyrics. He must have caused quite a commotion in his day. Music was definitely more fun back then.
Just listened to a bunch of his stuff on YouTube (boogie til you puke, dare to be fat, hey mr president, Pizza Hut woman, fruit picker Saturday night and...what could well be the perfect song for Expats here...
Thanks again for turning me on to something so cool.
You’re welcome, yes they were good musicians with funny, edgy, ironic lyrics. Definitely weren’t shooting for top 40’s. Check his bio, family and education for a laugh if you’re interested.
You could see them any night in Washington D.C. clubs for years. I left “The Rootettes” his backup girls off the title, they were the cherry on top.
Rootboy has an expat song, lol “I’m not to old for you”
Another one from here is Big Joe (Maher) & the Dynaflows if you like blues. Had them play at a friends house at the holidays one year. Nice guy, classic blues man.

Preventing high volume manufacturing of meth would start with limiting the availability and surveillance of the precursor chemicals supply chain. Maybe someone can pass that along to the authorities.

I’d surely point it out or if nobody in the cue give it to the cashier, free investment in good karma.
Wife and I were riding the bike through rice country and I thought I spotted a bill in the road,,kept going but then stopped thinking I’m sure that was money and she laughed and said she saw it too but didn’t talk,,,we went back and sure enough ฿20!
Nobody to return it to so she took it home and put in her princess shrine for good luck.- 3

Somehow their daughters still manage to get houses, cars and motor bikes from the 'know it all farangs' who married them...
Reminds me of the joke where a little boy shakes his penis at a little girl and says “I’ve got one of these and you don’t!” In response the little girl lifts her skirt and says “with one of these I can get all of those I want!”- 1

Is there that many here? LOL. I never looked nor cared quite frankly. I fly up in mountain areas or on islands. I have some very nice drone vids and aerial pics of the landscape here in Thailand. I share with family and friends.
Actually if remember correctly I read there are over 40,000 temples. -
Disrespectful posing that might offend Buddhism.
But the report of her being caught up with included one of her more provocative poses.

Maybe it’ll work until the dry season or the farmers pump all the water out for their crops.

Wow.. Big sinsod. How much was she making before you married her? I paid for the dad's bad knee and I help him out a little every month. My dad has his own pension so he's ok. I just hope I can get over to see him soon. Visa issues are a real pita. For me and for her. I really need medical care in the usa too. I think I'm going to have to go to india.
Edit; My best investment I guess is the engagement ring I got my wife. She's my best friend. Our relationship isn't "easy" but any relationship worth keeping isn't. She's a good person and she really cares about me. Without her I don't think anyone would here.
Less than $8k Sin Sod and wedding cost was far less than a dignified U.S wedding which none of her family and friends could have attended so what would be the point of having it there was my logic. The newlyweds money was over ฿50k which covered 2/3rds of the wedding cost and was a pleasant surprise coming from people I didn’t know in an Issan rice farming village. I don’t know how much she was making before we married but it was less than she was making running a pad Thai shop alone in Bangkok as the delinquent credit card notices showed up after her name and address went into the amphur registry. The ones she thought were forgiven because they didn’t know where to send the notices, lol.
We do what we can afford and it’s nice you helped her father. What goes around comes around and you’ve got her to share your life with.- 2

Food stall success equals Thai must have items in my opinion, som tam, noodle soup, meat on a stick, sesame dough balls etc. and yes there’s a lot of competition. Hot dogs and burgers as good as she serves them are a novelty here especially to the issan diet so I wouldn’t expect as many repeat customers per week as the above mentioned menu providers might get.
If you can justify the 30% Food Panda surcharge why not just raise the cart prices by some amount and increase her profit on her existing volume of sales. Old customers may complain but new ones won’t know the difference. It’s a mobile cart so move around
for new customers until the price increase isn’t an issue.

Jumped the White House fence and said he was “looking for the center of the universe”
is local folklore along with “Rootboy Slim owes me money” for some of old timers.
