What adaptations in Thailand of Western foods do you find strange and/or unappealing?

... salt in fresh squeezed orange juice, coconut ice cream served in hot dog buns, American fried rice, condensed sweetened milk on thick pieces of white bread toast, or how about those black colored "horse urine eggs"?

More than half of those on your list aren't even western to begin with? Orang Juice is culture specific? Century Egg is western?

If the condo block has a hotel license the you as a owner are allowed to do STR,

that's a generous interpretation, in a mixed used condo there might be part of the building that's operating as a hotel, with separate entrance, check in desk and separate facilities like pool and lounge area, the condo residents can't access the hotel's lounge or pool and vice versa... the hotel there applied for their own license, just being in the same attached building does not grant you the right to that same license

if it's a timeshare condo type of set up where you could pool your room into the hotel and guest got check in through the hotel's reception, use the hotel's maid for housekeeping then yes, you are part of the hotel

I thought it was obvious that "the owner" is a reference to the person who owns the complex/the freehold

In a fully occupied condo everyone holds the freehold

the only case where someone owns the freehold and you don't is that your condo is leasehold, in which case you shouldn't have to pay for any repairs at all

in a new build, there might be a case where the developers hold the unsold rooms that makes him the majority, or in some condos with mixed retail/hotel space, whoever holds those might always have a bigger share of the title and can always vote anything in their way at the committee

I have been told that the owner does not like being contacted and keeps his contact details a secret........how do I find contact details of the committee

What owner? are you leasing the condo? if you own the condo you're the owner

The owner on the committee and their unit numbers/contact details should be available at the juristic person office

  5. was the high insurance premiums on teslas still due to the previous gray-market imports with the full import tax and then the grey-dealers even had some parts in they imported themselves with very high markup

even if the owners of thai market teslas went to these dealers for parts like replacement windows due to the long wait from official tesla shops, this shouldn't affect insurance companies at all as they probably wouldn't approve repairs like that

it's been almost 2 years since Teslas start selling officially in Thailan, why's the insurance on teslas still high

Do you have a link for that? Certainly not mentioned on any of the many websites I checked yesterday.

sorry, yes it's a paid holiday - same as paid sick leave and annual leave that's normal in Thailand i forgot that it's paid as in no deduction if you take the day off

What I meant was that you don't get paid extras 1.5 times the normal rate if you have to come to work on that day,

otherwise you can take the day off with no deduction from your normal salary - a paid holiday if you consider it like that

  7. the law was from an era where the bikes are slow to accelerate and would be a hindrance on slope such as bridges

modern bikes handles these overpass and underpasses just fine

but bikes filtering between cars can be a problem, in Bangkok, the overpasses can be narrow with no shoulders, sure if traffic is slow enough or at standstill there's no danger

this gives me a chance to ask: my tenant is using the 3BB 4 G package. the modem is about 5 years old (it came free from 3BB). he wants to sign up for the 5G package, called Super Hi Speed: download speed is 2,000 GB and upload speed remains at 1,000 GB. cost 1399 + VAT. my question is, do i need to upgrade the modem? the 3BB service centre says 'no worries' , but my tenant is going to be doing musical studio work which will be uploaded and downloaded. any advice, ? thanks.

Are you sure this is 4g as in connected via sim card (mobile phone) rather than through a fiberoptic cable? some package come with sim card you can use on the phone and tablet when out and about as well and might be labelled '4g' as such

2gig down and 1 up sounds like wired broadband package, usually the provider, 3BB, AIS will provide appropriate router unless you ask for a package with no router to use your own, which is really for people who knows what they're doing
