Cheers joe, so the 60 day options is not possible unless i get the 30 days first ( lame rules).
-
Sorry i forgot to mention, im from the uk, im now thinking to just apply for a covid extension over the 30 days as this gives me the time i require here and less hassle to go and get another extension.
-
Joe, ive only been to thailand once this year, you have confused me, i haven't done any extensions this year. I would rather get a 60day extension to visit my wife over 30, is that not possible?
-
Thanks jack

Joe, so i can get a 60 day extension on my current VOA 45 days right?
What docs etc do i need?
-
Dr jack54, yes a visit to see my wife and kids and stay maybe another 40-50 days but my 45 days that i initially got are coming to an end soon hence why i need the extension.
-
Thanks tonray, ive done extensions in the past but with all the rule changes that happen so often, its best to get confirmation from reliable members like joe as you mentioned, im assuming the fee is also still roughly 2000bhat for the 60day extension?

Hi all / swaadee kap,
I entered thailand via a 45 day visa on arrival and would like to get an extension.
Im legally married to my wife and have 2 children here in thailand.
What options do i have in terms of getting an extension and what documents and paperwork would i need?
I plan on getting my extension at aranyaprathet immigration and my wife called in to ask if they were issuing extensions and they said they were which is a relief as i don't want to travel to BKK to get an extension.
Any help appreciated.

Hi all swaadee kap,
Can anybody point me in the right direction as to what the rules are on taking back fishing rods/gear. I live in the UK and want to take back some equipment but everything is to large for my suitcase (rods). Am i allowed to check in fishing equipment separately and if so can anybody tell me what i can store my rods in so they dont get damaged? Will i have issues with customs in the uk if i want to bring back my gear to use in the uk? I will more than likely fly with KLM and i cant seem to find any info about checking in oversized stuff?
Any help appreciated.

Greetings all, swaddee kap,
Are ASQ travellers allowed to take duty free purchased liquor to their hotel rooms for quarantine?
What if i was to bring UK purchased booze in my luggage? Surely this won't be a issue, but i would like to make sure.
Cheers guys.

Do the currency booths at heathrow give thai bhat?
Can anybody else confirm the booths are still open please.
-
Greetings all, swaadee kap,
Can anybody point me in the right direction with regards to if the currency exchange booths are still open at swampy? If not whats the best way to obtain thai bhat if travelling from LHR to BKK? My ASQ hotel doesnt have a exchange service and i doubt they will allow me to make an ATM withdrawal.
Thanks for any help in advance.

Depends on the Embassy, can range for hours to weeks (some embassies holding off on issuing those far in advance applications).
thank god I've received my decision quickly.
thanks for all the help and input everybody.

all booked up and submitted.
How long should I expect to get a reply from them in, with regards to them approving my COE and issuing it?

You can change your reservations and etc but you have to inform the the embassy to get the COE changed.
You mean if i already have the COE allowing me to fly to bangkok, then i would have to inform the embassy right? I just have confirmation of pre approval.

Have a look through a FB group I've been keeping an eye on, reviews/pics from people in the ASQ hotels, helpful bunch of people if you have questions and the hotel reps monitor the group too. In fact, results of a search for Amber Hotel: https://www.facebook.com/groups/298606387906884/search/?q=amber hotel pattaya
I could live with this view from a balcony at Best Bella though:
Yes, go for it, sooner you leave the better IMO, unlikely they'll start closing the border again ... but it's been a funny old year+
Thats is a lovely view indeed, do they let you order stuff from 7-11? I want to leave asap rather than in 2 weeks just incase something changes as you mention mate, u defo sure it wont cause an issue if i submit earlier bookings vs when i told them i intend on leaving on pre approval?
Thanks again for your input and help.

Congrats!
Best Bella has had fairly consistent good reviews. Can't say the rooms look that crash hot to me but given you're locked in for 14 days straight now the large water view balconies certainly would be appreciated I would imagine: https://thaiest.com/bookings/alsq/best-bella-pattaya
cheers mate, will check that hotel out, anybody got any experience with Amber Hotel Pattaya? looks good for the price.
Quick question with regards to my COE, Can I book a flight and hotel earlier than the dates I intended/gave them on the pre approval form online, as I would like to travel by the end of next week?

Update 2:
To my amazment, I have received an email confirming my application already! The jobsworths aint actually being jobsworths for once!
Time to crack open a beer and look for a nice hotel in Pattaya with a sea view hopefully :)) and flights obviously.

Update:
I finally got it to work, by just leaving the vaccine section completely blank. I plan on getting my second jab and taking a vaccine passport print out with me and if I get questioned, it clearly says no vaccine needed for asq anyway so technically I'm doing nothing wrong, il tell them the issue I had with their website! I got a 6 digit code in an email and it says I should get a response within 3 working days.
It says at the bottom in red when I received my 6 digit code:
Very Important: gives the info about the 3 days and then 15 to upload the ticket and hotel.
Under it gives a link to the coethailand.mfa.go.th website and click confirm trip menu?
do they mean after I've uploaded the ticket and hotel documents??
Thanks for all the input guys and il keep this thread updated and let everybody knows what happens.

The vaccine bit should be east type, date if your trying to fill it in with a future date ie Sunday that could be your problem????
I tried that also by just using the date of my first jab, but no luck ????

Sorry but out of ideas in that case, haven't seen/read of anyone else having this issue so far.
Im baffled as to why its asking me for a cert if i selected asq bangkok at the start of the ceo pre approval.
Stressful to say the least.

Yes I'm uploading the passport and insurance docs like this perfectly fine, its just the vaccine cert it keeps asking me for which is causing the issue when you click the save and submit it just reloads the page and asks for the cert which members mentioned is not needed.

Save is send and you have to attach everything twice as I found out on the million time????
so I need to upload all the documents in each section twice? ridiculous!
