If the Thai uncles are as rich as the OP says they probably own the casinos in Cambodia.....so where's the problem ? Just ask for the money back, or even better still, call up the uncles and complain that you were cheated in their casinos.

"The victim did not know at first she had been raped because she thought it was part of the rite"....."a rite using candles to touch her naked body".
This is sounding pretty weird. Hard to image an 18yo woman who wouldn't know when she was being raped.

Actaully Plus, The Camrys and Tianas are "Airport Limousines". I'm referring to the junk being driven around and passed off as roadworthy....usually green/yellow or red/blue in colour.

You cancel UBC because you find Thai soaps and dramas more interesting.

What's the point of upgrading the libraries when, for the most part, I hardly ever see Thais reading, or when I do they're reading comic books.
Is this yet another example of an ill-considerd government initiative which will only result in those involved becoming enriched ?

Hey Nick, if you don't like these US companies focusing outside the US then I suggest you buy enough shares to sack the board and set your own policy. Until then, your chance of influencing the board room decisions of corporations is negligible. Complaining about it will only make you bitter as there's nothing you can do about it. And no point blaming others for being more competitive either. That's a situation every American can take credit for.
BTW, if you don't have enough money to buy a controlling stake in IBM then that's nobody's fault but your own.

there is a secure parking area just before the border on the right hand side at Nong Khai. Costs 40Bt I think.

here's a theory....the guy with the orange day-glo front fence is trying to prevent a drunken driver from ending up in his front yard. Plausible ?

as my ol' gran'pappy used to say...."get the dollar, honestly if you can, but just get the dollar".
-
it won't change any time soon, and certainly not in your lifetime.
I doubt any Americans holding equity in US corporations which are promoting globalisation will be complaining or calling them traitors.

I think it was EGAT (or maybe TOT since they are next to each other) on Chidlom which caught fire, or the substation/transformer behind the building, in addition to the fire on Rama 3.

IBM doesn't give a sh_t about America or Americans. They only care about making a profit, or more specifically, delivering the ROI which the investors demand. They don't really care how or where this is done, as long as the numbers are achieved. If business is good then the choices are usually better, but if achieving the ROI meant sacking every American employee then IBM would do it.

I can't wait until the daughter's boyfriend moves in and starts shagging her best friend......

Me too.......can't wait for the sequel.

world's tallest airport control tower.......world's tallest elevated train track........world's tallest elevated highways.
Bangkok is sinking, and then there's rising sea levels due to climate change.
Maybe Thais actually do plan for the future after all.

Dear Mr. Wolfie,
your favourite movie wouldn't happen to be "War of the Worlds" would it ?
Ever see the ending ?
-
sshhhh....just keep it quiet....they're sleeping now, you know.
-
The odds against making it to 200 posts are increasing by the minute.....unless those Mods actually try to catch up on some sleep.
There.....are we back on topic now ??
-
Will you settle for a Honda Wave....previous owner was a little old lady who only rode it on Sunday mornings......about 3am on Rama IV road.
-
Build critical airport infrastructure which is missing from the new site.........
What time do we tee off ?
-
WOW...against all the odds this thread has racked up 96 posts so far without the Mods closing it. Truly amazing.
Any takers for making it to 100 ?

".........the partial revenue will be spent to renovate some areas of Suvarnabhumi Airport.:
And what areas might they be I wonder ?

Ouch Wolfie.
Wikipedia: "The benevolent dictator is a more modern version of the classical "enlightened despot", being an undemocratic or authoritarian leader who exercises his or her political power for the benefit of the people rather than exclusively for his or her own self-interest or benefit, or for the benefit of only a small portion of the people. A benevolent dictator, for example, may focus government priorities on matters of public importance, such as healthcare, education, or general city infrastructure. He may be committed to peaceful relations, rather than wars or invasions of other states. He may even allow for some democratic decision-making to exist, such as through public referendums."
I thought I was being complimentary.....must have been a little too subtle, eh ?
-
Jet, I doubt ther'll be much deliberation.....TV is to remain a benevolent dictatorship, no doubt.

cclub75 got it in one....Suwarnabhumi will in all probability be closed completely to effect repairs which could take years. In fact, it's probably cheaper to move the air force to Suwarnabhumi and expand Don Muang.
