  1. Hey Nick, if you don't like these US companies focusing outside the US then I suggest you buy enough shares to sack the board and set your own policy. Until then, your chance of influencing the board room decisions of corporations is negligible. Complaining about it will only make you bitter as there's nothing you can do about it. And no point blaming others for being more competitive either. That's a situation every American can take credit for.

BTW, if you don't have enough money to buy a controlling stake in IBM then that's nobody's fault but your own.

  2. world's tallest airport control tower.......world's tallest elevated train track........world's tallest elevated highways.

Bangkok is sinking, and then there's rising sea levels due to climate change.

Maybe Thais actually do plan for the future after all.

  3. Ouch Wolfie.

Wikipedia: "The benevolent dictator is a more modern version of the classical "enlightened despot", being an undemocratic or authoritarian leader who exercises his or her political power for the benefit of the people rather than exclusively for his or her own self-interest or benefit, or for the benefit of only a small portion of the people. A benevolent dictator, for example, may focus government priorities on matters of public importance, such as healthcare, education, or general city infrastructure. He may be committed to peaceful relations, rather than wars or invasions of other states. He may even allow for some democratic decision-making to exist, such as through public referendums."

I thought I was being complimentary.....must have been a little too subtle, eh ?
