That is just the way it works here,, False pricing is endemic in Big C and Tesco, where the price on the shelf's often bear no resemblance to the price on the bar code. I don't even check anymore, its pointless. It's not unusual, so it's Caveat Emptor,  buyer beware' !

At Big C and Tesco, if a price is in doubt, you can at least check it at the “ check price barcode reader” before you go to pay.

I'm English, I don't want to include any Scots or Irish in my nationality.

1972 at basic Royal Air Force training, we are completing some paperwork, a brave soul asked the Instructor what nationality he should put down on the form, we had English, Welsh, Scots and some from the Commonwealth, the reply , which I recall vividly today, was that from today you are all BRITISH.

The subject never came up again, unlike on TVF.

Unless it is a free to air channel a vpn will not enable to watch it.

A VPN isn't something magic that bypasses a subscription.

I don't think there are many VPN services that have a SA server either

Zenmate, which I use, has a server in South Africa.

The BTS I travelled on yesterday had big crosses on every other seat and were not occupied. It was a pretty new carriage, didn't even have station maps on the walls, so maybe more seat crosses are on the way?

I suspect that a very high up official has cornered the market on Big Red Crosses, other colours may be available, for an additional cost.

What nonsense, since the problems with the virus started, our local temple/ villagers have been going, crowding into the temple, just the same as always.

Masks/ social distancing, dont make me laugh.

Strangely enough, our area, which has the highest concentration of temples in Thailand, has seen it very quiet at all the temples. It seems that the Monks are keeping the public out almost completely, after morning prayers are over.

Like many things in Thailand, stuff just doesn't last, but water pipework in my experience is the worst, closely followed by electrics.

I've lost count how many broken pipes, leaks that I have had to either repair, or be replaced. Now we're not in Thailand full time we always have the local 'jack of all trades' ready to respond to any reported fountain or flood.

In the rest of my life from houses I've either owned or rented in the US, China, Singapore, Taiwan, I can only ever remember two water events

You would think that when they install  water meters outside a property, the final 2 foot should be made of thick stainless steel pipe. Strong enough to withstand a hit from a weedwhacker.

Having a few issues here recently and 'my man' has gone from being super responsive to just flat out never answering(via the Telgram app) almost overnight!

Im starting to think that my guy might not be there any more?

also wondering if connected to Covid 19 and no sport???

What issues are you having?   Serials and Movies are very stable.  TV was poor over the weekend, but last night was stable. They did post about this via Telegram.

I have always felt that addiction was more to do with genetics. I have been on heavy painkillers for months, and after surgery stopped immediately with no withdrawal problems. When in the military and overseas I would drink almost daily with the guys and usually get pretty much wasted. However, I was always able to quit immediately upon return to the family without any problems. I have also dealt with others (including in-laws) that if they started to drink could not stop.  Most of the men in my family tree are military veterans with most having served in combat. Another reason I think it may be genetics is that none of them have ever had an alcohol, or drug problem that I am aware of.

Drinking in the Military when I was drinking, was a must do activity. Anyone who refrained was basically a marked man. Interestingly, I was never promoted after I gave up alcohol. In BAOR we had a hospital which had a permanent ward open for alcoholics.

This is the machine I use... Nowhere near commercial grade but very adequate for a small restaurant (which we have) or home use.

I got it on sale in U.K and brought it back with me, cost equivalent of 11,000 baht.. In Thailand about 30,000+ !!

    IMG_20200423_072317[1].jpg

That, sadly , is the machine I had to leave behind in the UK when I moved over here. Using a Minimex ES here, without any milk attachments as I drink only black coffee. The wife can add her milk herself. It is a wee bit temperamental with type of bean, dislikes the very dark roasted type.

I have a Starbucks espresso maker purchased here in 2008 for 18000 baht....there were none for sale in stores at the time. It is still going strong, but prices have come plummeting down, so for 10-15000 you should be able to get a great one.

I find Starbucks coffee to be very insipid and hate to drink the stuff unless I am on the road, although I am preferring Amazon coffee at PTT stations as it is stronger.

For home I buy Bon Cafe which is available in many supermarkets. They do a blend called 'crema' for about 175 baht for 250 grams.

They do other blends also good down to about 110 baht....and it comes ground or beans. Makro sell it.

I like my coffee and like you price is not really the deciding factor. I have tried Illy, which I liked in the States but it is too finely ground to work with the Starbucks machine.

My favourite coffee is Segafredo, but I have not seen it for sale here in Thailand.

Boncafe outlet in Udon Thani has this for sale.

  11. A good bean to cup type machine is a must, if money is not the problem. You then have the option to use beans or pre-ground coffee. Beans is a matter of taste, experiment as others have already said. Minimex have a couple of good machines available in Robinsons with their brand of coffee available via mail order.

    Why should they stop it?

    It is a money maker.

None of us, except complain about it, will concretely do something.

    It will not stop me to consult and post, and that's what 99,99% of us will continue to do;

    and they know it.

As I read your post, another 2 pop-ups appeared. In the last 2 minutes the new AI is appearing

every 20 seconds. I have read the forum rules, but they have locked the threads, and some time ago. If they need money to fund operations, let them ask the membership. I also read their policy on ad-blockers. Currently this site is unreadable, unwatchable etc.

As much as my head is less tolerant of alcohol I honestly don't trust people that don't drink unless they're quite old, infirm or alcoholic. People that are not alcoholic but suck on cigarettes but don't drink. That's a weird one.

31 years dry, without outside assistance, never smoked a cigarette in lieu, you can trust me.

  14. I am like you, prefer my own company, and being tee-total and a non-smoker keeps me away from bars where others may try to become my best pal. My wife, however, is the exact opposite, and will speak, at length, to all and sundry. I avoid shopping with her for that reason. I find a slight nod of the head, will suffice, and walking away very fast, does the trick.

I went to Prachuap Khiri khan and the children’s playground near the pier has gone ,the one in Ao Manoa is useless and dangerous ,the one at the football ground is half missing and broken ,there is nothing for children

Here in Sri Chiang Mai, I cannot let our 2 , 5 year olds play on the Tessabsn provided play area. Broken plastic, with sharp ends, foul water lying in base of slide, missing components to tubular access, broken steps. The local Boss has a brand new Mercedes!! The play area is right outside the largest school in the area.
