Yes, try that and /or get a ticket sorted out on a direct flight home to Greece. some empathy needed here. He has obviously tried and failed with Thai doctors. Hopefully he has a friend to accompany him at least for a ticket and help to check in. He could have assisted help at airport if booked. That’s what I would do.

Poll If war breaks out with Cambodia what will you do?

If anything happened anywhere, I’d just stay out the way , or in a case like the last coup in Myanmar, leave at once. I’m not that person who joins in the chaos . -
Travel Cambodia Advises Citizens to Avoid Travelling to Thailand
geisha replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Cambodians are important to Thailands workforce. They accept the worse jobs and work conditions, that most Thais refuse. Without the Burmese and Cambodians I dont know what Thailand would do. The Burmese of course come out better of the 2 countries, as they often speak very good English. -
Report Thai Teen’s Harrowing Escape from Cambodian Scam Operation
geisha replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Comes at a very suitable time in my view. Though I know from reading online that Cambodia does absolutely nothing to stop these call centers. Hun Sen being one of the worst criminals, his origins were with the Khmer Rouge . Myanmars government. Min Aung Hlaing must be one of the worst and most cruel. -

Crime Indian Workers Illegally Operating Tour Services in Pattaya
geisha replied to Georgealbert's topic in Pattaya News
As a family on holiday told me, the bare foot bare backed guide tried to explain to them how the boat trip would continue, and told them to get on the boat and the *hostages* would take care ! This was actually written on the pamphlet, we had a good laugh. -
That place is the prize winner for scams. Nothing new. Some tourists I met and talked to at the Jim Thomson house compared their experiences. They said after 30 mins being shouted at and repeatedly asking for 5000 B they turned and left, as everyone should but it’s a morning lost for them and a bad experience of Thai curtesy. Jim Thomson house is on the contrary, fabulous, I went in the 90 s it was quiet then, now there’s a constant file of people , but it’s really beautiful, a treasure. The government should have a word with the Thai floating market. Anyone wanting to see a real floating market which actually works, is Cai Rang in the Mekong Delta , it’s amazing, loved it. Vietnam has some treasures too.

Report Activists Accuse Thai PM Paetongtarn of Crimes Punishable by Death
geisha replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Good lord, the article has taken Thailand back to the century when kings rode elephants into battle or whatever. The PM called the army * opponents *. So ? Where Thailand is concerned they are. Hun Sen offered to make public the call which was seemingly quite innocent. Storm in a tea cup. More proof that the Thai are a country of adolescents. -
Politics Thai Opposition Demands House Dissolution Amid Coup Concerns

Such a shame that a fair election cannot happen in Thailand. Hopefully Thailand is strong enough to do the right thing and bring in real democracy. If not, then Thailand will stay in the dark ages and never evolve. -
Analysis Thailand in Trouble: Expats Exit as Vietnam Steals the Show
geisha replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I don’t think Thailand needs more tourists. On the contrary, Thailand is a mess. If you’re an expat you sort of get used to it, and certain things that bother tourists don’t interest you ! But for people who have been to Thailand before, especially a long time ago, it’s not paradise anymore. The world is big, loads of interesting places to go for tourists, not always the same old. You’d swear the sun only shines in Thailand, far from it, the once beautiful beaches have been totally invaded and polluted, and the Grand Palace is something to remember yes, for its kilometer long queues, a sour welcome, and scams galore. That’s the way today’s tourists look at it. And let’s not mention the in your face prostitution, it doesn’t exist, does it ? -
Economy Bangkok Minimum Wage Rises to 400 Baht from July 1
geisha replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Who can live on this amount ? I don’t wonder a minute why girls ( and boys) end up in bars etc. With 3 to 4 thousand going on lodgings, some share yes, but not all are single, some have a partner and or kids. 2 wages ok, one person living alone is hard. I think it’s disgusting, I know a lady of about 30 working in my usual’4 star hotel. She looks after her mum and her mum looks after her daughter of 6. She holds onto her job for dear life , lives in the slums, and wouldn’t dream of working in a bar etc. She told me she earns more in hotel room cleaning than in shops or 7/11 because of tips. I always tip when I think people deserve, accordingly. I also leave lots of things for her family when I leave. -

Moving a family to Pattaya from Bangkok thoughts?
geisha replied to DonniePeverley's topic in Pattaya
I stayed in Phuket for 20 years , albeit 5 EU winter months, and 2 years Hua Hin. I much prefer Pattaya, although the beach water is dirty. I swim in the pool. You don’t have the sex workers unless you go looking for it. Don’t take the kids out to certain soi’s , and avoid the center town promenade i. Plenty other places to walk if you wish. Then you have Central Festival , Terminal 21, big supermarkets, good restaurants. Traffic you have anywhere in Thai cities, Phuket is worse, and Hua Hin on a weekend too. Chiang Mai pollution is famous, Hua Hin boring, and Phuket highly overrated and packed to the rafters. A nice house in a quiet area of Pattaya , plenty suggestions above. Question, where would your wife work, area , can she drive ? -
