I received email and FB Messenger confirmation from Immigration Division 1 that it is perfect.

This happened to me once in Pattaya years back.  I took my tickets, passport , photo , the condo address etc to immigration in Jomtien and declared myself, had no problem. Don’t know if I was just lucky I think they’re probably used to owners not wanting to declare.

And WHY the "journos" of Thailand never ever print follow up stories of these incidents were resolution between the cops, airline, CAAT, and any judicial action possibly taken by the courts?

With this happening a bit too often, I rather think they should have a hefty steward standing next to the doors who would be able to hold off an attack such as this.
I myself had an awful experience on a Lufthansa flight about 12 yrs back when a drunk nasty character created havoc after take off ! After 10 minutes of terror he was handcuffed to the back of his seat and his seat neighbor and myself were moved to the pilots rest area due to a very full flight. Needless to say he was arrested on arrival . Frightening .

  3. I was in Bali last April. It was awful ! A beautiful island with beautiful people once, now ruined. The abuse of land/ buildings etc is horrendous.  The one big supermarket overrun with pushy Russian ladies and their Balinese staff. Nearly every Russian family I saw there had a Balinese nanny  night and day. In one five star hotel there were numerous long stay families with their Balinese staff. They’re not all draft dodgers, a lot are very rich Russians planning a new future and getaway in countries that still accept them.

Same is happening in Thailand. Once your kids are in school you’re Visa happy , no matter what your age, which is why we’re seeing more younger families than before.

I never really understood the fuss about counterfeit goods to be honest, especially the expensive stuff like rolex watches,   Those in the market for a genuine Rolex would never settle for a fake from a  market, and if buying from a reputable outlet are unlikely to be conned into buying a fake.   Likewise those looking to buy a cheap fake would never consider buying a genuine one.      So I don't see that the existence of fake Rolex watches has any effect on the sale of the genuine item at all

Personally I wouldn't waste my money on either a fake or a genuine Rolex, plenty of perfectly good watches around at a fraction of the price. I feel pretty much the same regarding any over priced branded luxury items

If the roads of fashion were flooded with counterfeit goods, ( some very well copied) the people who do buy expensive bags/ watches/ Chanel / Dior etc would not like it and the market would sink. Imagine buying a popular 5000€ bag and you walk into a restaurant and every girls got the same ?? That’s what fashion is all about, imagine having dozens of Lamborghinis flooding the streets , sales would immediately stop. The fashion industry in France , Italy, US, Uk generates millions of specialist jobs, and a lot of money ,that’s the difference, quality instead of quantity, hard work and craftsmanship goes into these products.  The rubbish that pours out of mostly China, India, some African countries is factory made and often uses child labor and people who earn a pittance. And the badly / mass made products end up in the bin after 6 months and eventually landfill.   Remember the shoe scandal of the people  that bought shoes who ended  up having burnt  feet from illegal chemicals ?

So if you put 100 Thai women in a room, all done up, you could seperate the underage women?

What about if you were a young tourist and not been here long?

True, where I spend my summer months in a S of France beach resort, we often wonder about the age of girls off for a night out in the discos. I swear lots of 16 yr olds look over 18. That is what they are aiming for to get  into the clubs.
Ive never heard of British in Britain being known for abusing underage  girls, except in some areas where there are groups of men who are born and raised but UK not the country of their ethnicity. I don’t live in UK but follow news daily.
Of course, Thailand is known all over the world for cheap sex, Patpong, Bangla and Pattaya Soi 6 being plastered over the internet . You reap what you sow.

  6. I think travel insurance laws need to be completely reviewed. Most are very confusing, illegible, and the cause of much heartache.

What they insure and what they do not should be in large print under the Title of the said insurance. Exclusions in large red print.

Lots of companies contracts are worded in a way to attract as many people as possible but with no guarantees in the case of an eventual illness/ accident.

Rumblings in my area from locals are not good, there is a lot of Russians here, Im now starting hear Thai's complaining one of the things they are doing is renting villas and then sub letting or part letting, I know of one case now and the owner is not happy, he let his 2 bedroom pool villa, there is now 12 Russians living there and they are partying every night people turning up all night long, loud music, now the neighbours are complaining,

He tells me he has called the agent and they are not interested which is normal down here, the owner obviously is not wanting to confront 12 drunk Russians.

On Phuket , the Russians have been doing this “ sub letting” for quite a while now. It’s become unbearable, wherever you go, rude, hostile people in the shops and restaurants . They also have many “ jobs” apart from the villas/ condos, driving their kind back and fore the airport, shops etc. Travel agencies, massage and probably a hefty online business going not to mention bitcoin where one such Russian was running things in Kata.

It is the downfall of Phuket and tourists won’t forget their last holidays there.,

Apart from tourist or education visas, what other visa options do you suggest for those under age 50? Thailand Elite membership, never a cheap option, is now really expensive.

Exactly, at one time in my life I was under 50, had a very good job in EU that allowed me to travel over long periods ( seasonal). There was no other option for me to stay without extensions or border hops, and there are still not today. Also, for those over 50 , not everyone wants a retirement visa if they are still working /have business in another country. Lots here seem to think that some are working illegally when they are not.  And as said , there is no legal limit to entries by air. So if there were a limit, like with land entries, this would not be a problem.

  9. I think the station is the entrance to Hua Hin, and should be given a lot of good thought. It’s a beautiful station, what they do not need to do is pile a load of thai kitch to spoil it all.  Everyone has their photo next to the Hua Hin sign inside. Keep,it smart. If needed , a pretty coffee / tea shop with some authentic cakes/ biscuits/ tarts , which could also sell a few tasteful momentos . I’d rather see that just outside the entrance and nicely done, maybe olde worldly , as is the original station.  The problem with Thai ideas is that they copy everything and everywhere.   It would be useful in showing foreigners and Thais ( who wouldn’t go inside otherwise) , people arriving and departing. No “ I love Hua Hin” t shirts please.,

  10. Crikey, all this fuss. String him up for 15 Baht ? I’ve taken taxis in Bangkok for 40 years and only once had a problem with the amount asked from airport !  Try taking a taxi in Pattaya  or Phuket and see what you get . I’m just wondering why this tik tok fool ordered a taxi to drive 1 km ??? Really ? Just a set up to try and get on the screen in my opinion. I doubt very much that a taxi would loose money/ time over  a 1Km fare and keep smiling.

  11. Had a “ normal” massage once in Jomtien near Thepprasit  . The girl who could speak English said she also did condo visits , her boss was Russian, and had bought many condos there.

This was about 10 years ago. I was very surprised then. There’s loads of Russians working in Pattaya area, and what about the Russian gogo’s ??
Everyone knows Phuket is  overrun with them, adding to the big downgrade.

  12. I flew with them in the early 80s. Times were different and long haul still exciting for me. Flight’s weren’t overcrowded. No complaints then. Since the first ever Emirates flights , I’d given up Thai forever. Such a difference. Then I stopped using Thai for domestic too, especially after a particularly rattling flight from Phuket to Bangkok where I thought the ancient 747 was going to fall apart. I would never even consider using Thai again even if their rates were competitive.  I now use Swiss or Lufthansa for EU/ Asia which are absolutely splendid! And Singapore Airlines when needed.

Unfortunately, she isn't going to go to a class with several other people.  Private training or just a couple other people, maybe.  She would probably prefer to be left alone in a gym to do her own thing, or with a friend.  I would love if she did a Pilates or Yoga class.  But pretty much any class setting is a no-go, for her.  Also, she doesn't speak Thai so even private training would require some English-speaking.

She is in great shape so it isn't a fear of being judged critically in that sense.  I think.  She gets upset when people look at her 'too long'.  Like...angry.  Yeah, I know.  Trying to work on this as best I can.

I appreciate you brain-storming with me, here.  But I think either a semi-unused gym or possibly private training out of someone's home are the only options she might use.  And even the private training will require some convincing.

After reading that I think she has a serious problem which should be addressed. She’s not Thai, so Asian or ? Is she overweight/ underweight or it psychological? Why is she anxious/ afraid to be with a few ladies or group for example ?

  14. Think I’ve seen a ladies group gym ( not sure of kind) after the BKK bus and Foodmart area. There was even an advert about it. Surely with a few women she’d be ok ? Otherwise look for private home exercise groups for ladies. There are also many online things you can follow alone in front of tv. Half an hour a day of that and an hours healthy walk outside does wonders.
