Lots of businesses suffer from false reviews ! It’s nasty, disgusting and illegal. I’ve seen people kicking off because they found the bill expensive ( it was, it was excellent and the prices were printed on the menu outside and in ). Another made a huge fuss because the coconut water in his coconut wasn’t cold enough. The best one was a man who was refused take aways in a restaurant that doesn’t cater to this. A hissy fit , practically in tears because his little girl wouldn’t have her meal , as he left he threatened to give them very bad publicity, which he did the next day and for a few weeks after, accusing even racism. All the customers booed him as he left , which probably angered him more .

Not sure it's about younger, generally women 40+ in the UK start refusing sex to their husbands.
Going by the sort of men you often see in Thailand , I think a lot of women are breathing a sigh of relief that they’ve gone .

“Despite benefiting from the restaurant offering a convenient access passage, Alexander was asked to stop using it …”
in what universe does this make sense? If he was asked to stop using it, how could he benefit?
sometimes it just pointless to read any news article posted here. There are so many contradictory statements, none can be trusted. SMH.
Exactly ! Why couldn’t Alex access his condo ? Did he have to go through the restaurant , which sounds crazy? Was there another option to enter his condo ?

I always thought that it was the person reading the scan that was important, not just a cheap scan that might be read by someone less qualified in that particular field.
Yes, find the best specialist for your problem. It will be him who diagnoses your scan. The interpretation is very important.

I do hope this is followed up and taken as high as possible. Hopeful that the poor lady has friends that will kick up a fuss. Would be good if the National papers got hold of the story and answers from the police on why they are ignoring this tragedy.

I remember second hand genuine watch shops on floor 2? of MBK and second floor of Fortunetown. There are sellers in Kaidee that post watches they have for sale (both new and used) so maybe you could reach out to them.
Having them in Thailand without having paid importing duties and VAT on them though could be a hindrance to some shops, but I guess not many.
I was actually looking into Tag just today at Jomashop.com. As prices of used watches in Thailand are about the same as new ones abroad...
There are waiting lists in France for most of the high end watches so the second hand shops and online are doing well.

I've got 2 absolutely mint Tag Heuer watches both F1 which franky are sitting in boxes unworn
One watch I've worn 5 times in three years (funerals weddings) and the other just once lol in same period
They are sat in secure drawer frankly doing nothing ! Whilst not high end designer watches per se both are 23% more expensive new today for identical watch
I’ve seen a shop on the top floor of a mall a few years back, but can’t for the life of me remember where. It struck me as it all looked perfectly kosher and I fancied a watch there.

It appears the lady lived alone. Didn't the maid live-in? Seems not, the article says she was informed the next day. So she didn't discover the body, then who did? If maid/friend for 17 years, why didn't she live in when her boss had cancer? How did the lady have a gun? A lot of unanswered questions.
What a load of rubbish. Not every maid lives in !!! I also have a kind and trusting home help. While I do have relatives, she will be on the list alongside.

does the maid have to pay FRANCE inheritance tax on the 50 million before getting the money?
No, the inheritance is in Thailand.

Been a few times. Last time I was there was over 15 years ago. There are some beautiful areas but found the place expensive (comparable to Bangkok) and the taxis have always been a rip off. Just found other areas of Thailand equally as scenic but without the hassle and cost.
Phuket was certainly a lovely island. The beaches are still some of the best compared to the ugly coast sand and water of Hua Hin area and Pattaya . The hills around and the views are scenic. So is the countryside for those that dare leave the towns and beaches .It is the people who ruined Phuket. From the local authorities that don’t give a damn about the failed infrastructure, to the local mayors who just think about their pockets, and last but not least, the rif raf that immigration is welcoming onto the island. Crime is rife, the traffic and noise unbearable, and now all the Russians buying up the island and pushing prices up through the roof.

The buses keeping their engines running for 2 hours while the tourists go shopping/ food. Alongside the night market on Jomtien beach road it’s pure hell, stinks the whole area out. They should be heavily fined for pollution. Wishful thinking.

Well it's not for the lifestyle!
Depends how much money you have ! I know most of our South of France second home owners live in the UK. Must say the UK weather is awful.

There is an element of irony here - these people either directly or indirectly have been making immigration difficult for the British for years and now want a forever British visa themselves to avoid criminal charges, only in Thailand!!!
Why do you think it’s only Britain that is difficult ? Most of the main Eu countries have stringent visa rules ! Usually taking a few years and then you risk being rejected. I suppose lots of people wanting a UK visa is because of the lesser language barriers.

If I recall right, there were reports of Joke and the woman behind the alleged illegal gambling operation being caught on video singing karaoke together at some party... And I thought, from reading various past Thai news reports, some claims that the investigating police had found financial ties between the Joke group and the gambling group.
But at this point, hard to know what is true and what is political maneuvering and infighting.
All in all, though, I stick to my long held view that people don't get to the top of the RTP hierarchy in Thailand without having gotten messy along the way.
Some of what previously has been alleged:
AND
Alleged , Hearsay, rumors, gossip. Funny we are not hearing anymore about the online Gambling story ? Where is the proof Surachate was part of it. As for the party/ karaoke, there were a lot of well known Bangkok personalities there including RTP and lawyers. Everyone participating were invited months in advance and the party well publicized. Lots of false info around...

Not at all ! So far there have been only accusations against Surachate. It will take real proof for myself and many others to believe otherwise. He has certainly knowledge and proof of a lot of things concerning the RTP and government. I’m quite sure that this proof is in safe hands probably outside Thailand. One thing he is not, and that’s stupid .

I think the "pumping station" at the beginning of Walking Street claims top prize...for gut renching smells.
How about the drain near Royal Garden Plaza ( 2nd rd) in front of the big dirty Chinese restaurant selling roast ducks on the corner ! I give that one top marks, I hate to think what’s down there.

See all those businesses that lay a mat over the metal grill on the sidewalk? (especially massage shops). That's open sewer, not rain drains. They are trying to block the smell.
They’ve been doing that since I remember, 1984 , I thought it was to stop the rats popping out !
Why get the bus to Bangkok?
in Pattaya
Posted
When I go to my hotel in Bangkok from Pattaya , I take Bells. Picks me up at home, then big bus to BkK , and the mini bus to hotel. Very comfy and good service no waiting or hanging about or carrying. If I go to the airport I take a taxi. But I must admit I feel safer in a bus. For a few years now though , I ask a lady driver taxi who doesn’t use her phone while driving.
