i am looking for a place to buy wheat germ in BKK.
especially a place that would sell larger or bulk quantities.
i found it as a 120g jar, i dont remember the price. but i am using this in an exercise plan that would have me using half of this jar a day...so i need to buy in larger quantities.
thanks

I tried GOLDS MARKET in Silom and the little area inside Pargon Grocery Store. They had some, mostly Jasmine & Rose, but not many others.
I am looking for Essential Oils of:
* Yarrow
* Orange Peel
* St Johns Wart
* Ginseng
thanks

i recently bought one that I saw on sale at villa market.
however, it has quite a strong oil base. so, after i used it, it took a lot of effort to get the oil off my skin.
and then the shower floor was very slippery from the oil. all in all, somewhat of a mess and in the end not worth the hassles.
so anyone can recommend a product (and where to buy) that doesn't leave an oil on your skin? or rinses off easily?
thanks

I'd like to learn some massage or accupressue techniques to relive headaches.
Can anyone recommend a place in BKK? Or perhaps a book instead?
I dont want a full massage course, just enough for this specific purpose.
thanks

is there a service that handles this especially for teachers?
is it even necessary to file?
my employer deducts from each check...does this take care of it without any further action by me?

Thanks, that was initial thought, but it's always good to get input from others.
the dollar is only going to keep getting worse. either convert it to baht. or if you are uncomfortable with that, convert to a (more) stable currency like euros.

two friends this month had problems on checkin coming to thailand.
friend one. british passport. checkin at london to fly to bkk. had tourist visa and one way ticket on EVA to bkk. EVA made a fuss that he could not board having only a one way ticket and tourist visa. insisted he buy a ticket on the spot out of thailand before he be allowed to board.
friend two. USA passport. checkin at San Francisco to fly to bkk. no visa, planned to do visa on arrival (30 day) and then some travel around SEA. airline United. checkin counter made a fuss because his return ticket was 65 days out and united said could not board without thai visa because return flight beyond the 30 day visa-on-arrival. he told them he planned to travel around SEA and they demanded to see proof (ie tickets) that he was leaving thailand. he doesnt have them yet because he is buying them here. in the end he convinced them to let him board by insisting on talking to a united supervisor and making a scene.
does this just reflect general airline skittishness about risk? in neither case did the airline offer them the "waiver form" which says they are responsible if they are not admitted into the destination country (i have done this form for other countries, so i know it exists, but neither friend was savvy enough to know to ask for this).
or is thai immigration getting stricter or what?

I have Non-B visa that I got on my own before I looked for work (because I was looking at investments/franchises).
Then later I started working and got a work permit. This extended the visa for another year.
Now I want to change jobs.
Will canceling and getting the new work permit cancel the non-b visa?
Is there a way to do this that it doesn't cancel the non-b visa?
The reason is, I have almost 2 years on this visa. And only need one more year and I can apply for permanent residency.
If I the non-b is canceled and I get a new one, I have to start over.
thanks

I read their website about visiting (http://www.aidstemple.th.org/visittemple.html)
and it says to call their Bangkok office before coming.
But the phone number on the website is too short and doesnt work.
anyone know the right number? or can steer me towards how to visit?
i was thinking of going and staying there a few days (hence the websites suggestion to call their bkk office to check first)
thanks

I've heard there is a miniature golf course at Seacon Square (http://www.miniaturegolfer.com/tha_courses.html)
Anyone know if this information is current/accurate?
Also, anyone know of any (other) miniature golf courses in BKK? Seacon isn't the most convenient for me....
thanks

I've been looking around for powdered milk. Anyone seen it?
In Thai, it seems to translate to something equivalent of "milk dust". So in stores I am often directed to powdered non-dairy coffee creamer or to the baby food section for dehydrated milk based infant formula.
I am not looking for infant formula, just regular un-enhanced powdered milk that I can add to a recipe.
thanks

Hi
I just got a Nikon 35mm FM2 camera second hand.
I am looking for a basic photography class that would go over using the camera, developing my own film, etc.
Anyone know of such a thing here in BKK?
Oh and the course can be either in English or Thai.
I know in the USA, community colleges always had short courses like this.
Thanks

Influenza (flu) Vaccine
in Health and Medicine
Posted
every year the flu vaccine is adjusted/changed to match that year's flu strain.
so, my question is, when does thailand usually start offering the vaccine ?
i went fairly late in 2007 and got vaccinated in October 2007. so i wonder when the 2008 virus formula will start being offered?
