@userabcd thanks once again! No worries, I need it for my home country. Question might come up from tax authorities or my bank, although a lot less likely. I'm trying to follow my personal tax consultant and be on the safe side.
-
Ah, so tax identification card is simply the tax ID number... wouldn't have guessed. Clear on the receipt part!
Is there anything regarding a lease or TM30?

Hello everyone,
Does anyone have experience getting "Certificate of Residence" from Revenue department? I would like to get it beginning next year.
I checked the source on http://www.rd.go.th/publish/21978.0.html and I have few questions:
- "A copy of tax receipt." is required - what is it and how do I get it?
- "A copy of taxpayer's tax identification card." - what is it and how do I get it?
- Is this source on RD website up to date? Are there any other documents required in practice
Kind thanks,
Matt

Hi guys,
I have started a private limited company early this year and I have more than 5 staff now. I am thinking about buying a group insurance. I'm sure the team would appreciate since this question often comes up, especially during interviews from candidates.
Does anyone have any experience in this and can recommend an insurer?
I reached out to AIA and EasySunday and got some brochures. It seems that EasySunday is quite user friendly and also has an app for employee to see nearby clinics and for employer to track things. Sounds good in e-mail.
Any info on this or experience much appreciated! It's the first time I'm doing something like this.
Thanks,
Matt

@AJBangkok thanks for the info! I did some research after my post and indeed this is what I understood made sense as well (dividend after PIT effective 30%+). Thanks once again.

Hi guys,
It's my first year running a private limited company in Thailand (or any company whatsoever). I will make some profit end of the financial year which ends November 2019 so in 2 weeks. If profit is more than 300,000 THB then it's taxed and the company will exceed that.
Question is if I can pay myself and my employees a bonus? Anyone has any experience in doing so?
I would like to avoid any problems with audit so any experience shared would be beneficial. I'm not experienced in this manner. I also have only 2 weeks to reduce taxable income.
Thanks,
Matt

Hi guys,
We've been operating already in Thailand since January this year as private limited company in the digital space. We've grown from 0 Thai employees to 6 and we keep growing. Looking at the BOI available materials we could qualify potentially for a decent status giving us tax incentives as well.
My question is do we really need to be a "new project"? Would we need to create a new company and pitch for a business from day 0 or could we potentially convert existing company with a track record into BOI?
Kind thanks,
Matt

That is also very bizarre to me, especially since UPS does not want to deal with the parcel. Otherwise I would have thought they just want to overcharge...

Hi guys,
My girlfriend shipped her suitcase with personal belongings to Thailand via UPS. It looks like there were some items that are not easy to clear. I received this from UPS:
QuoteI’d like to informed you that after opened your package (“bill of sight” process), there found a lot of things are not match with invoice showed.
Especially, packages have included a kind of medicine and Waterpulse Water Fossal, which restricted by Thai customs regulations.
Pls note, UPS cannot do customs clearance for medicine, and the doctor certificate is required for Waterpulse Water Fossal.
Another way, you have to find out the alternate agent (non-UPS) to run customs clearing for this shipment.
Thanks. *Attached.
Can anyone recommend what to do? Is it possible to ask customs to destroy the questionable items? If not, does anyone know what would be easiest and cheapest way moving forward? On top of all the customs clearance I will be charged 200 THB per day for storing items so I'm looking for a quick solution as well!
I'm not sure if this is the right forum, but there was a similar topic here a while back.
Thanks,
Matt

@yankee99 Thanks for the comment. Do you know of any bank where getting a corporate debit/cc card is possible?
-
Hi guys,
Is there any bank that issues corporate credit/debit cards for private limited companies operating for less than 6 months?
At the moment, I have many business-related payments that I pay for online with using my personal debit card. Then, I reimburse as part of personal expenditures. I also pay a lot of money for Google and Facebook ads using the same process. It would be nice to get some cash back % if possible since I'm spending 300k+ every month using my personal debit card.
I'm currently using Bangkok bank and I was told that my business needs to operate for 2 years before a card is issued.
Any help or advice would be helpful!

@JoePai What is Xero direct? if you mean to contact Xero directly I tried to find contact information on their page regarding general inquiries but I could only find media contact. Can you share how did you contact Xero directly? Kind thanks!

Hello,
Which bank would you recommend for a corporate account? I'm using Bangkok bank for the last few months since opening a company and I'm looking for an alternative. It would be great to have a credit card as well.
Also, does anyone know which Thai bank has integration with Xero? accounting software
Thanks in advance!

Thanks for all the replies. The signature would be to sign a B2B contract for ~30 to 100k a month. So it's not a real estate type of deal. Nevertheless, fair point on Kerry express. I just realized it now.
I will use PandaDoc then to automate the contract process and make life easier for my future clients.
-
Hello,
Can I use an electronic signature to let clients sign the contracts? running a B2B
I've always used this back in Europe because there's no good reason to use physical signatures anymore. But I'm not sure if the contract is binding here if I use the same solution as I did before.
Thanks in adavance!

Hi guys,
Is it possible to have SSO as a shareholder/director of Private Limited company?
I set-up a company, got a work permit and now my lawyer is telling me that I cannot have SSO, but my accounting office tells me it's possible and they charge 1,900 for SSO registration. I'm confused.
Can I be covered by SSO? if so, how?
Do I have an obligation to be registered or it's up to me?
Thanks,
Maciej

Hi guys,
What's your experience looking for the best talent in Bangkok? What are the best channels?
I'm starting an analytical/consulting company. I'm looking for smart, motivated grads or people with up to 2 years working experience. It can be a business/engineering background but English working proficiency is required.
Two other questions:
- How much would a top grad cost?
- Is there a chance to find talent that speaks English very well, but has not gone through any private schooling? i.e. high school / costly uni programme
Thanks in advance!

Hi guys,
Has anyone tried obtaining SETV from Australia? Couldn't find a report. I wonder about actual requirements and success rates.
Thanks,

For anybody who might care about the procedure in Taipei, Taiwan:
1/go to a very crowded Thai office between 9 and 11:30 am
2/hand in: the form (with one photo), your passport, copies of the important passport pages, copies of the airline ticket booking (they never asked for a hotel booking, though I filled in the hotel address on the application form)
3/pay 1,200 New Taiwan dollars = a bit more than 1,200 baht
4/pick up your tourist visa the same day between 4 and 5 pm
last few reports of people trying to get a SETV in Taipei resulted in denial.
- what's your nationality?

Thanks for replies! I got VEE at Pedang Basar.
I was bit stressed though. I picked a line with a lady who was cheerful, smiling and joking with another officer. But her mood quickly changed when I have shown her my passport. She was flipping back and forth and it seemed that she wasn't very happy with my first page. On the first page, I had my SETV extension re-stamped from the previous passport. She asked me to go to to a room where several officers were at their desks. They also didn't like my first page pointing at it with fingers. In the end, I was asked only about onward travel ticket but not cash. I showed them. After several minutes of IOs talking I was let in.

Interesting itinerary. Looking closer at the dates and destinations I don't think METV makes sense here. Apart from METV being a bit of a hassle, the 180 days of METV starts running from the day it was issued. OP could apply for METV only in the U.S, but then he would waste time on METV by being in Europe and Japan. The time spent in Thailand after being in those two destinations would not justify getting an METV. Btw, this site can be helpful to understand more about Thai visas including METV
I think a mix of VEE, SETV(s) and extensions would be totally OK.
It would not seem like you're living in Thailand full time, and if you have 20k baht on you + good story to say about your finances (potentially if asked) you'd be fine. We don't know your full passport story though, but I think you would've mentioned it if you felt it was important.

Non-B visa - advice needed - running a small business
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits

Hi guys,
I need some help in understanding what are my options, given the current state of affairs. I want to avoid leaving the country, as it would mean in ideal scenario 28 days of quarantine (back in my home EU country and back in Thailand). I'm very worried about leaving my business here behind which is heavily reliant on me and my business partner. My situation is the following:
I understand that I will have to leave the country before my visa expires. The way I understand the situation is that I cannot apply for 1 year visa at Thai Immigration because I don't have 8 Thai employees. I would need to have 3 months worth of Social security paid for 8 Thai staff to apply. Is my understanding correct?
What would you do in my scenario to either avoid having to leave the country, or minimize amount of days spent outside of Thailand?
Thanks,
Matt
