Most likely they just steered her to an open kiosk, which she may not have seen, which are available to anyone and everyone. She's just a garden variety tiktok world pathological liar whose life would be meaningless (to her) if she didn't put on her little show on a regular basis. It's actually quite sad that she's got nothing else going for her but her looks and her bs stories. Now picture the kind of relationship such a person would be in, likely just a transactional relationship not based on honesty and love but on the superficial. Looks aren't enough to sustain a good long term relationship. No thanks. There are enough beautiful Thai women with big hearts and not an ounce of phoniness to them.

Phone banking apps are generally safe and useful for basic things. I have been using them ever since they came out without any problems, going on 10 years. That includes a monthly transfer from Kbank mobile app of 50,000 baht to my US bank. I'm also careful and never open unknown SMS or email links. There was nothing in this story that would point the finger of blame to the bank mobile apps. This appears to be hacked phones used to access bank accounts online, or to access previously used merchant transactions, which would not necessarily involve the mobile app. If user names and passwords are obtained for the account itself the account could be accessed directly through the bank without the mobile app, and that is where the bank's liability comes in, when their security does not catch the attempted fraud. If malware was installed because someone opened a malware link in an SMS code then that's where the trail begins. But this article is sadly lacking in details.

Russian Man Wreaks Havoc at 7-11 in Pattaya’s Walking Street
Jonathan Swift replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
The tourist police are where they always are, stationed in the middle of walking street. I saw them over the holidays. Were you there, at the crime scene, do you actually know what you're talking about? Incidents like this can happen very quickly, remember, the tourist police are on foot. It doesn't take long for a criminal to escape a crime scene. Let's change your user name to "clueless". -
I believe in law and order, but if I saw a man hit a woman under these circumstances you might have to hold ME back. The owner will pay a small fine, and the Russian will have learned a lesson. Or not. Some people never learn. It's probably not the first time he ever hit a woman, probably not the last. If he's an alcoholic and a mean drunk, plus a typically pleasant Russian, he will continue.

Remember, this is a Russian, generally arrogant, snobbish, not very nice people. Thai people don't like them and for good reason. I once caught a Russian stealing my freekin laundry basket, caught on video, and he acted like I was insulting HIM. I got him evicted from the apartment. I believe that he slapped the girl's face. That's the likely thing that would lead to a beating. Just my humble opinion.

Will Thailand’s new residency visa achieve results?
Jonathan Swift replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Rich people tend to be notoriously stingy and tight with their wealth, so does it make more sense to get $10 from each lower income person or try to get $100 from each wealthy person, if there are 10,000 low income people for every single wealthy person? I'm just making up numbers for the sake of illustration. By low income I mean anyone who's not rich. This is basic common business sense across the board, but these people seem to just endlessly speculate without being connected to the real world or knowing much about human behavior and the cultures whose money they seek. -
Will Thailand’s new residency visa achieve results?
Jonathan Swift replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Doing it without an agent is pretty easy once you know the ropes. I don't like the idea of placing such important matters in anyone else's hands, plus the money saved is significant, around a few hundred dollars. But that's just me and my way, not everyone has equal skills with bureaucratic systems. -
You don't have to use the 800,000 baht in a bank method, you can also use the 65,000 baht per month income method which requires a bank statement showing that income once a month for one year. Regarding your terminology, "the 1 year extension of permission to stay in Thailand on the underlying Type O visa", my visa very specifically states "non-O-retirement visa" . There is most certainly a "retirement visa". Regardless of your terminology, the extension and the visa are commonly understood to be the Non-O (type O) retirement visa. Attached is a photo of my Non O retirement visa, which you refer to as type O.

Here's how I've done it for the last 4 - 5 years. You don't need to do anything more to prove income, you don't need to show your home bank or any Wise PDFs or anything else. If you want to gather a bunch of extra redundant files just to "be safe" that's up to you, but not necessary. I transfer my monthly "income" of 67,000 baht from my US bank to BKK Bank once a month around the same time, using Wise. A couple weeks before my extension I order a printed one year bank statement that shows all of those transfers as international transfers. On the day of my extension I get a verification letter from my BKK Bank and update my passbook as well. The verification letter and passbook update needs to be done within a day of application, so I just do both on the same day as the application. That's it.

You can get it on the same day, if you've got the money to throw away you can use a service, but you end up participating, they just walk you through it.
