  1. There are lot of anti-vax farangs running around from Europe with only 10 day quarantine. Why would they let these people in to Thailand without legitimate exemption? At any rate, Bangkok is getting nuts. People are so xenophobic.
  2. Some people think it's cool others think i have covid of course. I actually saw a Thai security guard wearing something similiar today. So it is the future that everyone will be protecting their lungs. Why bother wearing a mask if it barely workers?
  3. Where do you live? I have bought some in Krabi and Hatyai. Maybe you can order it from these people below or just as the local pharmacy to order you a box or two. The best generic product is called Liobac (400 baht @200, 10mg tabs) and the best place to buy it is The Diamond Pharmacy in Bangkok.
  4. i've been using a 3m respirator with p100 filters. This is very useful. Works very well. Dual use for covid and smog. I think there is an even better filter for smog. Everyone stares at me even more than usual, lol. I always put it on when i walking around Bangkok, especially the main roadways. You can figure that a main road way has 2-3 x the amount of toxins in the air compared to the side streets at least in Banglampu. A major problem is lack of pollution control in the vehicles. Too many scooters too. It is actually more comfortable than those fabric masks. The key is the rubber mask seals around your face perfectly. While regular masks are about 10% effective vs 80%. This mask can save your life. Your skin will absorb a lot of toxins from the air too. Good idea is to cover up as much as possible, hat, arm wear etc. Then scrub your skin down to remove all the build up of chemicals. I was just in Kathmandu and Baktapur. Unbelievable amount of smog. I was only in Kathmandu for 18 hours, took the taxi to Baktiapur. Blankets of smog everywhere. All my cloths absolutely stank. Even my backpack and things inside. Lucky you don't live there, the whole country is bad. p100 mask proved itself in tough conditions. btw, situations seem to have improved. https://aqicn.org/station/ศาลาว่าการกรุงเทพมหานคร-(กอ.รมน.-กรุงเทพฯ) https://earth.nullschool.net/#current/particulates/surface/level/overlay=pm2.5/orthographic=99.65,13.39,3297/loc=100.616,13.701
  5. Stop eating Thai food. It is full of 1) Sugar 2) Meat 3) Oil
  6. Omnicron has a special present for these people, “At this time, we think about 75% to 80% of hospitalizations are unvaccinated," he said. "It could be as large as 40% of the population that has not yet either been vaccinated or had a previous infection with coronavirus up until now,” he noted. “So, we have a large pool of people who can still present with overwhelming infection and severe disease,” he said. https://www.voanews.com/a/south-africa-readies-hospitals-as-omicron-variant-drives-new-covid-19-wave-/6340912.html
  7. Hardly any tourists in Banglampu. Lot of sad faces. Like it is my fault. Beware of scams too. Lot of people buy like cheap oranges for 30 baht a kg and then set up and try sell them for 70 baht etc. Avoid small unknown sellers these days.
  8. Ya good deal for everyone to get the fake test. Keep in mind Thai's are desperate, the ASQ i stayed at seem sketchy, The test result came from the Hotels front desk, the test was done by someone at the front of the hotel when we arrived, i googled the private hospital and found they charge 3500 baht for the test. Who would know if the test was fake? The hotel is gate keeper, so if you run away they would report you maybe. They had my money through wise.com so no way to get a refund. An extra 2000 baht if too hard to resist. They are only human.
  9. I would buy LioBac or Flexobac brands in Thailand only. There are 400-600 baht for a box of 200. "Using narcotic pain or cough medications together with other medications that also cause central nervous system depression can lead to serious side effects including respiratory distress, coma, and even death."
  10. It is also nice have an update on how cases are in a city and where. Cases seem low, so at this point it does not seem to be much of problem. Unless they are lying....
  11. Basically for 3900 baht. Everyone tests negative! Hint: It's Scamland. Your PNR is fake! Then email you a fake test and pocket the money. The are the gate keeper.
  12. I paid $118 for one night at a place that claimed to be near the airport and have 24 shuttle to the airport which were both lies. It says on the web site. It was in the middle of nowhere and i had to pay for the grab to the sky train. I complained to the manager who could care less, they could even flip the 80 baht for the grab. Thai's really have a poor sense of business always ripping farangs off. Not will to make a little concession. You know this happens all the time. It is like the airlines when they give you a cheap price on the web site then when you get there it is like oh btw you need to pay another 1000 baht for your luggage. What were you thinking?
  13. Looks like the Thaiger as been reading my post, god bless the old ozzie man! Only 71 cases in the entire province. https://thethaiger.com/coronavirus/covid-19-sunday-4704-infections-27-deaths-provincial-totals Prachup is not my fav, but ok for a day or two.
  14. Yup, i've been using a 3m respirator with p100 filters. This is very useful. Works very well. I think there is an even better filter for smog. I always put it on when i walking around Bangkok, especially the main roadways. You can figure that a main road way has 2-3x the amount of toxins in the air compared to the side streets at least in Banglampu. A major problem is lack of pollution control in the vehicles. Too many scooters too. Useful for covid, everyone stares at me even more than usual. lol. It is actually more comfortable than those fabric masks. btw, have you noticed that those masks n94 are also filled with toxic chemical from the melting process in manufacturing? You need to wash them before you wear them. You do not want to live anywhere north of Surathani in Thailand during the smog season, it will not be worth it. Worse as you get older. As we learnt with covid : your lungs are actually outside of your body. Once those particles get lodged in your lungs they may never get out. You will regret it when you are older, i've had some damage already. Believe me it is an unpleasant feeling when your chest clamps up. Asbestos is around building sites too...
  15. I was surprised to see the cases are much higher in the south. I have also been censored on Tripadvisor and told i was a liar etc. Data is not readily available. Here ais site i found, they call it 'viral pneumonia" LOL, https://ddc.moph.go.th/viralpneumonia/eng/index.php# Lacking specific data. Obviously people need to know the status of an outbreak in their area.
  16. Seems information is being hidden. Are most people vaccinated in town? Also i was suprise to see the cases are overall highest in the south of Thailand vs Bangkok and the north. I am think this does not effect tourist so much rather Thai families.
