  1. Thailand has signed the treaty which also includes the treaties to avoid double taxation. Signing of this treaty means that the country where the world income falls according to the treaty may also levy taxes such as income tax. Means that if Thailand wants to be able to collect income tax, it must cancel this treaty or grant the foreigners permanent residency.

Canceling the treaty will not be a logical step, so it could be good news and mean to be able to get this done all foreigners get a permanent residence permit, which puts them on a par with the Thai as it is now the case with a permanent residence permit. With this provision Thailand acquires the right to be able to collect the world income.

A point of attention is that people who make use of this must have the choice of law on the legally concluded marriage and associated with it, because after 10 years, according to international law, this automatically transfers to Thai law if this choice has not been made.

How soon preflight is the covid test? Seems odd to arrive and be positive straight away, unless he cheated the test

one can be tested negative an if tested again in one the test can be come positive. in average 6 hrs after infection there is a chance you can be tested positive.

flight time is about 10-12 hrs and you are tested before that.

  3. what is costs? Just made the cost of one call and after that never have had any problems since 2014. The ones who ask for coffee money or tea money even had to give it back including the other food extras.

Call I made was just to the responsible local immigration office and all was smooth arranged in just a few hour. this was not possible under the previous administration that was replaced.

Probably it is the way things are handled by people who complain about this,  my experience business wise as well in private when you ask me based on the experiences over past years I have to conclude that the the 'corruption' levels now are about the same as in the west.

Like in the west it is too they prey on the weak, change your attitude and show respect as well that you asare to be repsected too.

  4. as long is the model to earn money from tourist like Thai do you can look around and see the impact at other countries with lock downs.

you have to reform the economic business model and apply to 80/20 rule.

also you when you not do the lockdown then accept you will have other problems the next 4 years. and probably not get any tourist due to this. that you will feel harder then just a lock down of 3 to 6 months

  5. problem you face is generally a shortage of power. as in shortage of current. this is because the power line grid part that you are on are probably over it capacity. W= U x I (W= power - U = Voltage - I = current) and since W is now fixed due to grid space limitations then when you have more current needed you get a drop mostly like a click. because when a compressor or light or other device switches on the internal resistance is 0 ohm so a huge current will start to flow the n rapidly the internal resistance build up and the devices operated at it's designed parameters. This is also the moment  old light bulb flash and stop working you can add a capacitor or much better solution is to add an on-inline power supply unit not an online power supply unit. the online power unit make that the sinus as wel the the power is nice and when short of input the battery will add to make the output correct.

advantage it that you protect the equipment, the disadvantage is you need to add a safety braker to prevent possible electrocution. since you are using a device in a situation it actually is not designed to operate in.

From the governmental standpoint, you could be correct. But at the individual level, the first time around, people at least in Bangkok were willing to abide by the social distancing, store closures, and mask wearing. (Remember, right before Covid, people here were already wearing masks because of PM 2.5.  That might have given Thailand a built in advantage.)

look at the mess the Dutch government made with it intelligent lockdown and the not listening to the experts who warned that they did do all to fast. ignored the Indian and other mutations problem in the UK, ignored the German warnings about the by passing of the vaccins bij the mutation as they see a rise in more then 400 fully vaccinated people still got seriously sick. The result in just two week increase infected from nearly a few to now more than 10345. The Dutch have a high percentage of people fully vaccinated. and Still the want to have the Dutch population take vacation and to travel abroad to hot spots in Spain, Portugal and other places. Spreading the mutations in a world where most poele are not vaccinated. Many places seen that the elderly who where the first start to have declining protection rates of the vaccines and also made that Israel is looking for the third booster and the vaccine manufacturers apply for permission to have booster as third jab after 6 month. Sinovac even by the European Agency  is put at the same level as the others, therefore is used in several European countries too

When you know is happening this then in this perspective all is different them most here claim it is.  just put things in perspective and we all know the Thai views, visions and additudes too as well that is it is very well know it always easier to blame then to think and put things in perspective. Do not forget that not so long ago it was Thailand that was best of the class and put as an example how all should do it by the WHO. The same Thai who blame and complain now are the same Thai who not so long ago laught about the world how they struggelt with SARS-CoV-2.

  7. Only complain and critizing, blaming.  is it easier to blame. then to admit the the army with this coupe established that Thailand changed problem and lot of corruption was addressed as well other problems.

Still Thailand is thanks the te government before not at the same level as it could be like South Korea. and if Taskin would have done what was needed the education system would have been recognized at the same level around the world.

as far as we can recall the army was called to change in 2013/2014 because Thailand did fall apart under the administration in power.

for those how not understand the world. all is the same every where. Only the looks and package that is comes in is different every where. gossip and bad news travel faster and need lesser time to do their destructive work. then to bent habits and change attitudes.

you are foreigner who is living abroad. why act upset about the things that made you move abroad, back home is worser otherwise you would have moved back already.

I've had a couple of mails from hospitals with a price of 3,300-3,400 (excluding doctor fees) with vaccines to arrive between the end of October '21 and March '22.  I wouldn't mind the pricing SO much if you could just walk in, get vaccinated and pay.  But pay up front, in Thailand, with its level of consumer protection (e.g. none), for vaccines that MIGHT arrive at some time over the next 8 months, with undeclared fees (other) to pay on top and with the constant (like hourly) changes here just makes it too much of a risk IMO.  If you end up having to wait 4-6 months who knows what the vaccine situation will be by then and what other options will be available.  It's a <deleted> shoot of course but with the absence of more robust guarantees I think I'll take my chances.

Not sure if you are completely correct.

The total is 3400 including coinsurance and all hospital fees.

Down payment is 1200 when you book

You have to verify your id

You get SMS and within 7 days the appointment.

Fist visit you pay the missing 500 thb

The next visit you pay 1700with the 3400 the all is covered.

The 3400 was first 3800 and if this article is correct now will be 2200.

All included (vaccine, administering, insurance, certificate)

Average price in the west for one jab is somewhere between the 10-16 euro including all

  9. the intelligent lockdown in the The Netherland messed up a lot. made that all took longer.

the lockdown system in Australia works very well and also takes longer minimal 14 days or more.

What makes the choice to lockdown for 14 days as a minimum.

quarantine come from the Italian number 40 and was used in the past as the minimum number of days to lock down an area.

old wisdom is not so bad and when lockdown for 40 days you can stop the spreading as have seen in many areas.  And do not forget to accept the tourists will not come soon due the ne new mutation in India the plus mutation that is now starting to spread and also is more aggressive in the lungs.

we need to vaccinate the world as fast as possible with this we stop the spreading as well that new mutations will evolve. When not solve this problem first we will in the grip of SARS-CoV-2 and the mutations.

  10. Those who are willing to come are probably also the once who where used to a device like this at home.

Most people just have 14 days vacation and beside that also in most countries on still have to stay in quarantine when you come back for 10 days, which is at own costs.

Think this they have forgotten to put in the equation too. the costs before and after that is what make people also not want to stay 14 days in Phuket.

when look at to retuning tourist now you see many of them are tested positive and being infected implies to support of possible new mutations beside the 20 or so that are now know and are seen  traveling with the tourists. Express ways to make spreading easy.

think Thailand better can provide the 2 jabs to the Thai people and then when 95% is full vaccinated have a look at it again. and with this also the 4th wave passes with the expected needed 3th jab.

  11. Very wise advise that should been followed up. Wise because in Europe they are now confronted that tourist returning from Portugal and Spain seem to be the piggyback for the virus with the tourists that return home and increasing the number with the new mutation. Something that is not having much effect that is seen directly due to the huge declining numbers that hide these new infections.

not sure why the UK is postponing easing of the lockdown measurements, when understood well for the same reason as this docotr warns about.

  12. all i needed was copy of aal the pages of the blue book singed, copy of id signed to proof who owns the house, the phone number of the owner (hers) and a letter signed by her tells that i lived with her and the address is the primary address in Thailand where I stayed and could been seen as my Thai address. worked fine for with me  already for many years.

It seems it's not only houses.

Recently I measured the condominium which I rent. The measured sqm was also less then the size which was advertised when I rented it.

I also would like to know how this is officially calculated.

normally is is at the height of 1.5 meter from the ground that is the area. wall under an angle depend of the angle outward if one still uses the 1.5 meter height because then also the edge of the floor/wall can (must) be use.

in general on is quiet safe to use the 1.5 meter from the ground to make the estimation of the space.

  14. this pictures they forgot to mention the real number ONE that makes the differences. This is the blood type. Bloodtype is more important the the 7 underlaying symptoms. Blood Type O has the least problems and are the least seen in hospital regardless the underlaying problems. Beside that also some DNA sequences are indicators of problems as well that black colored people seem to have more problems then Asians and Caucasians. Blood type A is having the most problems the followed by blood type AB and B.

this you can find back in the many research reports around the world.

He worries it may be weeks or months before he can get a shot in Thailand. His business obligations - plus Thailand's strict two-week quarantine for people entering the country - make it unfeasible to return to the United States.

Not a so pragmatic view on things, vaccination is preventing things.

When it is impossible to get Thai vaccine  supplied by Goverment of buying at the private hospitals then one can see all as a part of the time you go backs on vacation back home the rest de as a part of a kind of sick leave.

When one gets infected with SARS-CoV-2 all can become worser then this short period of vacation and combined vaccination de days.

Just a matter of economics and priority.

Empty freezer is an energy waster

If your extra freezer sits empty most of the winter, it’s using more energy than it does during the summer when it’s full of ice cream.

A full freezer uses less energy than an empty one because the already-frozen food in it keeps the unit’s temperature low.

A tip: Pack your empty or half-full freezer with water-filled plastic milk cartons or two-liter bottles. This will keep your freezer running efficiently.

The water-filled containers—filled to four inches from the top—will ease the strain on the freezer’s motor and keep food cold longer during a power outage. And you can drink the water in an emergency.

put the freeze on a cold wall area  as well put in it the ice packs that store the cold. this reduces a lot of energy usage. Beside the other tips to fill up the cooler part with water bottle and milk packs because they keep it longer cool.

the ice pack you have in slim version and they can reduce energy usage easy.

also you can isolate the top and the side walls extra if you feel the need for it. and  be sure you have on the top en bottom enough space to let the air flow. this wil reduce the cost also.

  17. the Dutch did do a test with 189 people on a trip to an island. this trip for 7 days and costs about 800 euro per person. all tested free of covid-19, et al, several times before departure. on the 6th day they have 6 out of 189 people tested positive. that is 3,2%. and they operators claim this as a success.

when converting this claimed succes then the  3,2% implies that when all Dutch go on holiday this will result that of the 17.500.000 Dutch there just will be about 555.556 people that will become tested positive. This by the current ratio one out of eight will be needed a hospital care implies around 62.000 of them are needed medical care in and hospital and of these hospitalized 62000 people will, if the numbers are correct, be one out of eight needing intensive care. That is just a 7750 at the ICU.

when one take in account that today they already have problem with the hospitals, bed ice and care this will imply code black and people will die by triage. beside that all the normal care as well urgent needed care that needs to be given with in the next 6 weeks already for many is something that is now postponed.

in the west as well in the east we probably need to accept tourism is not possible until we have the virus under control and this wil be around 2022 if the expert are right and the vaccine is administered also in the poor countries.

beside a good quarantine takes minimal 40 days as the word implies

The practice of quarantine, as we know it, began during the 14th century in an effort to protect coastal cities from plague epidemics. Ships arriving in Venice from infected ports were required to sit at anchor for 40 days before landing. This practice, called quarantine, was derived from the Italian words quaranta giorni which mean 40 days.

  18. for as far as i know even in the west a contract with a set end date finished at that date set.

beside that if an employer not want you to work at his place there are several ways that you are unaware of to make it that in Thai court you will be the one that is to be blamed. unless you have very well documented case.

beside you forget an expat in general just leaves after 4-5 years the country. if you are here and have a family then you would not only speak Thai also have been legally married and switched the visa based to non-O based on marriage or based on taken care of Thai child. you are actively changing all to stay here and make it you new country. Pay taxes, plan and build a future.

most who stay abroad ire just still leaning back home and there have no actions showing they want to stay as one does when he or she really need to stay.

We all know most forget this and the local know this too. So they use this against the foreigner in the same way as this is done in the west.

you want to have success then they also look at this kind of things

Things that made it in any case one of the additional the imported facts to rule in favor of the foreigner. Why because it is clear one wanted to stay in Thailand and did do all that was needed to be able to stay.
