Is it illegal to live in Thailand on those visas? Not everyone are married/old enough to get the retirement visa or dumb enough to pay a tons of money for a elite visa. As long as he is not working illegally, are a criminal etc there shouldn't be a problem, people that spend money should been treated like a criminals, time the Thai immigration starts to require background check from home country and show you have money from that are earned not in Thailand so they can continue live here on whatever visa they want as there are no options for those.

One day the might hit the retirees harder and most of you will moan, some if you guys thinks they because you have retirement visa means you are immune to be affected, no you are not.

Talk about the "Debbie Downer" post of the 2019...

Go to one of the Thai markets and pick up one of these boys. Colt M1911 BB gun.

Scares the dogs but no harm done. But, as others have advised, don't be wandering the neighborhood alone at night.

BTW, wild dogs live in Africa, what you experience is soi dogs gone bad.

I think this may be more effective in terms of both "fixing the problem" along with the TM30. Might be able to just pick it up too at a local market. ????????????

It has been required everywhere for years.

    No problem to get.

Exactly, a fresh kor ror 2 has been required at Kanchanaburi and Surin for some years.

I agree "It has been required everywhere for years" is a "broad statement." You should accept that. Then a poster goes on to say "Exactly.." Well, maybe for those offices you have had experience with.

That's a bit of a broad statement if ever there was one! How would you possibly know it's required everywhere?

As far as my own experience goes, I've done 4 marriage extensions in 2 different offices and this last one, in August, was the first time I've been asked for one.

Agree with your second sentence however.

I also read TVF, it's where I learned most of the extension related requirements. The requirement for Khor Lor 2 has popped up on a few occasions. and as I said, I was only asked for this for the first time on my 4th extension and others have also made similar statements, some quite recently.

I do not recall the 'vast member (sic) of posters mentioning this'. Had been aware I would surely have inquired about it. As it was, I didn't even know what it was until this last August. Fortunately, my wife did know.

    Have a nice day.

Yeah, what we have here is immigration not always being uniform in their demands as far as paperwork goes. I too, read good information regarding immigration on here and one thing is for sure, things are again, not always 'uniform' when dealing with these people. TIT ????????????

  4. This week I went to Chaengwattana for a 60 day marriage extension and unlike before I was asked for the Khor lor 2. Previously our original marriage certificate was okay.

While getting it, the khor lor 2, at the nearby 'khet' they said that within Bangkok it is required. Maybe, I'm slightly on the negative side but I find their continual change of requirements 100% intentional. The I/O in the back had to look at us before she gave a response as to whether the original certificate (not the khor lor 2) was acceptable or not. Also, the lady that checked the documents prior to our queue, mentioned it may or may not be okay. TIT ????

But my point of this post is that, I'm wondering if now a lot of others are finding themselves having to go get the 'khor lor 2' when previously not needing to. Or maybe its just new to me.

I have received THC legally from a hospital in Thailand after a thorough screening process and health check. They gave me a green card with the details. This is Thailand so they got the expiry date wrong and the strength of the THC wrong (0.7% instead of 1.7%). Actually, I wanted CBD (which they didn't have yet), not THC, so I have not gone through the complicated FDA procedure to get a certificate for cannabis use yet.

I heard on a podcast interview with a Thai lawyer that if we get caught with legal THC the cops are likely to arrest us first and ask questions later. This makes sense as the laws are new and documentation still a grey area, but it makes me feel a bit uncomfortable. I have never been urine-tested but a few months ago coming back from Bangsaen with the family we were stopped and searched, and the 3 heavily tattooed nephews tested, but not the rest of us.

If they test for cannabis, it does stay in the blood a long time. Even most CBD has trace amounts of THC which will show up on some tests.

I haven't seen THC available outside hospitals in Thailand. CBD from industrial hemp (from USA) is available online, though for about double what it costs in the UK.

Will you go back for CBD? As some clinics have it now. How complicated is the FDA procedure? After you have the medical certificate you then fill out the application right?

Besides, regarding these roadside tests, they don't cover THC rather amphetamines only right?

    Thai bondage? Clothes on.

Thats how you feel after experiencing going through checkpoints with urine tests, TM30 attempts online and forgetting to do the first one, and then someone crashing into your car on the way to immigration. So yeah the picture hits the feeling on the spot! "Up to you!"

From my limited experience at a checkpoint, the roadside test kit detects the presence of amphetamines, not cannabis. I need to have some privacy while I pee, so having an angry bloke with an assault rifle watching my every move was not a fun time. Not sure what the Thai translation of 'performance anxiety' is, but he wasn't having any of it...

Just tell them to put the gun down so you can pee first.

I'm just chuckling at such a comment. Oh dear..not the 'proper' cup..And then the cluttered background part..gese maybe they should string him up and hang him.

nobody seems to be willing to clarify whether or not both thc and cbd products are available.

They are both available. I received both on my visit. However, the Thai THC oil is labeled 'Premium CBD.'  The other hemp oil is labeled 'JM-1.'

  10. I went to the Sawasdee Clinic, in Bangkok.  Got a whole set of products including 'Premium CBD,' 'JM1'-(hemp oil), 'HTL Caps,' 'oil balm,' and 'aroma' oil for nose, ears, and head. They spoke English quite well also, even a few of the nurses. Beautiful office as well.

Type "Medical cannabis shop Bangkok" into google maps. It's on the second floor (1st floor above ground fl) Opposite Baiyoke Sky Tower Phone 0816304622.Walk from Ratchaprarop BTS Station (Airport Link). After initial consultation you can then order through the Line app for home delivery.

Could you explain the initial consultation a bit more. What kinda questions did they ask you along with was it pretty simple as far as proving your medical needs?

But yeah, if I understand right, once you get a prescription, you can buy it from anywhere. And a few places do not require the prescription and will sale it to you, right?

Really ? I thought that's exactly what a non o based on marriage was for . To spend time with Thai wife ( and son , in my case ) . Have you seen official guidelines/rules that say it's for O/S workers that come and go only ?

Well put. The Non-O based on marriage will be fine for awhile. If anything maybe proof of funds, IMO. As how the current 'improvements' on visa 'goal posts' have been, I think they have enough on their hands for awhile.

My daughter failed English in year 5 of Thai high school because her teacher didn't like her being better at English.

When we went in to try and get the grade changed, the 'English teacher' could only speak in Thai, no English at all.

At first, I want to say 'I can't believe it,' as I'm shocked that would be legitimate. Then, I thought...TIT.

Sorry to hear about such a case. Wow, all the while in a 'school.'
