Does anyone know what time Immigration closes for TM30 on weekdays. Looks like I will be arriving into CM around 3pm and wondered if this was too late.

I think you are reading too much nonsense here, you can go within a few days of arrival no problem and suggest go mid afternoon or weekends so easy !

Or online for TM30 and 90 days even easier from the comfort of your home !

  2. Sure 90 days is so easy on line, relax and within a few hours approved, as long as your info. is correct !  also TM 30 online or via the app.  , so only a visit 1 time a year for an extension and if you think about it and not go early morning, perhaps mid afternoon, never a problem.   Too many complaints here, just think and relax, really 1 time a year is a problem.  Never used an Agent and never will !

  3. Too much nonsence posted here from 2 posters in particular !  Quite simply if the requirements to stay here cannot be met or you disagree with them, you have a choice and I suggest rather than make comments that you cannot justify, just leave. Some of us are happy here or we would not be in CM or Thailand. Get a life and not post thousands of comments here !!

By the way you write, I would guess you are Thai.  If you are a westerner being paid by immigration to write positive posts about CM Immigration, then they are wasting their money.  They should look for a westerner who can at least write a coherent sentence.

Really, another useful post, perhaps you should look at your own posts, before making more comments that you cannot substantiate !   Have a good life back in the " Land of Milk and Honey "

Gotta say, I totally agree with you, no way you can even get in the door at CM Immigration without waiting for hours.

Unless you pay an agent to walk you in past the queues.

There's something very odd about a few of the posters on this thread.

Chiang Mai Immigration 10.45 out in 1 hour, all documentation correct and extension approved.

This website is for informative comments and information to help others and I agree there is something odd about a few of the posters on this thread, who seem to have nothing better to do than make unsubstantiated posts!

And clearly the wrong attitude. I wish all these stupid grumpy old farangs could go back home. The Thais would definitely be happier to have us here.

Please read the post this relates to before making pathetic comments !

There is no way you could have done this at CM Immigration.  What I wrote is fact.  If you would have shown up at CM Immigration at 10:45 am, you would be standing at the back of a long line in the parking lot waiting to get into the building just to get the first number.  You need to rub those sleepy little eyes and wake up.  This is for Chiang Mai Immigration, not the immigration office you visited.

CM Immigration sure and I don't need to reply to absolute BS from someone who perhaps does not have the correct documentation !

And since they have nothing else to do but complain why don't they camp out at CM IP full time and give us an accurate running commentary of what is actually happening, rather than the "Glass is always empty" in their usual curmudgeonly way!

Their choice no problem, but those who have the correct documentation never have a problem renewing extensions and never need to " camp out "   , 14 x and never camped out or used an Agent !

Has anyone recently applied for an initial 2 year Thai licence for a car ?

If you already have a full UK licence is it correct that will only be required to do a colour eyesight and a reaction test or is a written test and video viewing required ?    I have seen different threads on this subject !!

Update, went this morning , only eye colour test and watch video, out in 1 1/2 hours with licence, which included 1 hour video !!

    -VISA NEWS-

-NEW IMMIGRATION POLICE ORDER – February 2019-
First-Time application for a 1 year extension to a Retirement Visa will need to show 800,000 Thai Baht in a Thai Bank for first 3 months of the extension
(there may be more information to follow)

    NEW IMMIGRATION POLICE ORDER-

No changes to the required amount in your Thai Bank account when applying for 1 yr extensions (800K for Retirement) (400K for Marriage)

However in place of ‘Income Letters’ you must show a minimum transfer value of 65,000 Baht per month to your Thai bank account each month of the year for Retirement extension (40,000 Baht per month for marriage).

The order makes no mention of the old ‘combination method’ of adding extra cash if your monthly income is below the figures stated above.
And averaging the amount over the course of a year is also not mentioned.

We await clarification – expect local offices to disagree with the above explanation until a few have tested the water.

  12. I arrived to queue at 5.10 am earlier this month and was number 32 !   at 8.30 was told to come back in the afternoon.  I went back at 1 pm and was out by 3.30 !    The queue started before 2 am,  avoid CM immigration if possible !

Anyone arriving later than 6 am is unlikely to get a queue number for that day.

You also need the previous extension pages, last re-entry stamp and 90 day appointment copies from your passport.
