The Chinese victim, Chen Jing, approached the Facebook news page Big Kren to seek justice. The incident occurred at approximately 2am on September 24 of last year outside the World House Club on Pattaya Sai Sam Road, but the victim has yet to receive justice. According to the page, the case was being handled by Mueang Pattaya Police Station, with Police Major Wuttiann Kongdee serving as the investigating officer. 4. Photo courtesy of KhaoSod By Puntid Tantivangphaisal A blind woman has sought help from Panadda Wongphudee, president of the Foundation for Good Deeds after enduring a month-long ordeal of alleged sexual harassment by her cousin. The police are set to issue a summons yesterday, January 21. The incident was shared on Panadda’s personal Instagram account, a well-known beauty queen, actress, singer, and presenter, who also serves as the president of the Good Deeds Foundation. The organisation received a request for assistance from the 51 year old visually impaired woman, who has been reportedly subjected to sexual abuse by her cousin. The foundation sent staff to investigate the situation. It was revealed that the woman, who is blind in both eyes, resides with her mother. Although previously married, her husband left to pursue a new relationship but continues to provide financial support amounting to about 6,000 baht per month. The woman disclosed that her 45 year old cousin, who lives nearby and is the son of her aunt, has been harassing her. The harassment typically occurred when he was intoxicated, involving inappropriate actions over several months. The situation escalated when he forced himself on her by kissing, which prompted her to file a police report at Bueng Kum Police Station. Following the report, the aunt and the cousin have not returned home, leaving the woman frightened. Initially, the Good Deeds Foundation contacted the investigator in charge of the case, who has taken on the matter and is expediting the process. The police are preparing to issue a summons for the cousin to provide testimony, reported KhaoSod. Additionally, patrol officers have been notified to inspect the area, and if the man is found, he will be brought in for questioning. Measures will be taken to ensure no further incidents occur. 6. Photo via One 31 By Petch Petpailin A Thai woman and her daughter faced death threats from a man with a mental illness in the Isaan province of Buriram after she rejected his advances. The 49 year old single mother, Waenphet, and her 29 year old daughter, Pimonrat, relocated from Buriram to a new residence after being harassed and threatened by a man named Chart. Waenphet explained that her husband stole their savings and left home on January 10 to live with his mistress. Three days later, Chart visited her house, introducing himself as her husband’s friend. Chart claimed to be the owner of a gold shop and an official from the Inspection and Monitoring Committee for the Police Administration. He then offered to help locate her husband and recover her money, so they exchanged contact information. Chart later invited her to meet his older brother, claiming he might have more information about her husband. Waenphet agreed to accompany him. However, during the meeting, Chart introduced Waenphet to his brother as his wife and he then offered to clear all her debts. Waenphet rejected his offer and clarified to Chart’s brother that she was not Chart’s wife and had only met him a few days before. Chart then brought Waenphet back home. Upon arrival, he referred to her as his wife again and acted as though he intended to stay over. This angered Waenphet’s daughter, who ordered him to leave their home immediately. After being turned away, Chart contacted Waenphet online and demanded that her daughter apologise. He claimed to be an influential figure in the community and sent her pictures of a gun, threatening to kill both her and her daughter. Waenphet reported the death threats to Chum Saeng Police Station, where she was informed by officers that Chart was a mentally ill patient. Despite this, Waenphet and her daughter remain deeply concerned for their safety. They urged the police to take action, but they remained silent. They hope that media attention will prompt action and ensure their protection. In a related incident, a Thai man went on a violent rampage in Bangkok last November after being rejected by a married woman. He stabbed the woman, crashed his car into six vehicles and nine pedestrians, and ultimately slit his own throat. Source: The Thaiger -- 2025-01-22

  10. UPDATE Thai driver released on 600,000 baht bail after killing motorcyclist By Petch Petpailin Photo via Matichon The Bangkok South Criminal Court released a Thai sedan driver on bail set at 600,000 baht this afternoon after he intentionally hit and killed a motorcyclist on Sukhumvit Road in Bangkok. The 30 year old suspect, Seree Srettheenamwong, was captured on a security camera deliberately crashing his white Toyota Altis sedan into a black electric motorcycle ridden by 49 year old Rittisak Prakuptanon on Sukhumvit Road yesterday. The collision caused Rittisak’s body to hit a security camera pole on the footpath with significant force, resulting in his death at the scene. Seree fled the scene but was later apprehended in Soi Sukhumvit 4. The fatal incident reportedly stemmed from a conflict earlier near the Asoke Intersection, where Seree’s car collided with Rittisak’s motorcycle. Seree allegedly refused to compensate Rittisak, leading to a high-speed chase and a heated argument, which culminated in the deliberate collision. Seree was charged with intentional murder and reckless driving causing death. The charges carry a potential maximum penalty of death. He was transferred from Lumpini Police Station to Bangkok South Criminal Court for temporary detention. Photo via Matichon According to police reports, Seree refused to provide further details about the incident and requested to address the matter in court. He also declined to speak to the media. Reports indicate that Seree was visibly emotional, crying while seated in the police car. Initially, police insisted that bail would not be granted due to the severity of the case. However, this afternoon the court approved Seree’s temporary release on 600,000 baht bail. He is required to wear an electronic monitoring (EM) bracelet and is prohibited from leaving the country. 12. Thai sedan driver arrested for intentionally hitting and killing motorcyclist By Petch Petpailin A Thai sedan car driver hit and killed an app-based motorcycle rider following a traffic dispute on Sukhumvit Road in Bangkok yesterday. Officers from Lumpini Police Station were alerted to the fatal accident on Sukhumvit Road in the afternoon. They arrived at the scene accompanied by rescuers from the Por Teck Tung Foundation. They discovered the lifeless body of 48 year old app-based motorcycle rider Rittisak on the footpath between Sukhumvit Soi 8 and 10. Rittisak was wearing a pink long-sleeved jacket from his company and jeans. His damaged black electric motorcycle was found nearby. A witness informed the police that Rittisak’s body struck a security camera pole after a white Honda Altis sedan hit his motorcycle. The driver of the car, later identified as 30 year old Seree, fled the scene but was chased down by witnesses and stopped in Soi Sukhumvit 4. Seree was subsequently taken to Lumpini Police Station for questioning. According to a report by Matichon, Seree admitted to crashing his car into Rittisak’s motorcycle near Asoke Intersection. He did not stop to check on the accident or offer compensation but drove away quickly. Rittisak, however, pursued him. The two engaged in a high-speed chase until they reached the location of the fatal incident. Rittisak manoeuvred his motorcycle in front of Seree’s car, blocking his path, and demanded that Seree get out of the car to resolve the dispute. Seree claimed he refused to exit his vehicle and attempted to escape again. Intentional murder Seree stated that Rittisak banged his fists on the car’s windscreen several times before returning to his motorcycle, seemingly assuming that Seree would flee. Seree claimed he then got out of his car and kicked Rittisak. At that moment, Rittisak attempted to leave, but Seree followed him and deliberately crashed his car into Rittisak’s motorcycle, causing Rittisak’s body to strike the security camera pole with fatal force. Seree has been charged under Section 288 of the Criminal Law for intentional murder, which carries a penalty of death, life imprisonment, or imprisonment for 15 to 20 years. He was also charged under Section 201 of the Criminal Law for reckless driving causing death, which carries a penalty of up to 10 years imprisonment, a fine of up to 200,000 baht, or both. Rittisak’s wife, 39 year old Saijai, reportedly fainted upon arriving at the tragic accident scene. She revealed that she and Rittisak had been together for over 24 years and shared four children. Rittisak had been the sole breadwinner, working tirelessly to support the entire family. She said she and her children were devastated by the loss. Saijai left a message for Seree. “Why were you so cruel? Didn’t you think he had a family to take care of? This issue wasn’t serious enough to take someone’s life.” She added that she would pursue the case to the fullest extent to seek justice for her husband and her family. 14. Photo courtesy of KhaoSod English By Puntid Tantivangphaisal A Russian tourist’s harmless social media livestream took a violent turn on Pattaya Beach when a local woman, mistakenly believing she was being filmed, assaulted him in a dramatic scene outside the Pattaya City Police Station. The incident unfolded in the early hours of today, when Evgenii, a 45 year old Russian national, was livestreaming near Pattaya Beach. Standing by a coconut tree, the woman became enraged, accusing him of filming her without consent. Despite her companions’ efforts to calm her down, she charged across the street, pulling Evgenii off balance and causing minor injuries to his knee. Evgenii reported the assault to Pattaya City Police at 4.30am, presenting video evidence from his livestream to prove he had not targeted the woman. Police confirmed the footage showed no breach of privacy, leading them to press charges against the woman for assault causing bodily harm. Under Thai law, the offence carries penalties of up to three years imprisonment, a fine of up to 60,000 baht, or both. The case has reignited concerns over Pattaya’s beach areas, often frequented by women colloquially referred to as “coconut tree girls,” who solicit foreign tourists. Recent regulatory changes, introduced by the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security in October 2023, have shifted the handling of prostitution-related cases from police to civil authorities. Officers now document such incidents and forward cases for further investigation, emphasising community-based resolutions. While police aim to maintain public order and protect the city’s tourism image, this incident underscores ongoing tensions between tourists and locals, reported KhaoSod English. Picture courtesy of Dailynews By Bright Choomanee A family is seeking accountability after a 33 year old coffee shop owner and award-winning barista, was fatally struck by a car while cycling with friends in Chiang Rai on October 9 last year. The driver was revealed to be a school director from Chiang Saen district, who has yet to take responsibility for the incident despite previous mediation attempts through a prosecutor. Most recently, at the Office of the Chiang Rai Primary Educational Service Area 3 in Mae Chan district, Sojilak Jaibao, Yotthaphon Chaibao’s wife, along with his relatives, wore black shirts and held signs demanding justice from Doctor Suteerat Aridech, the director. Sojilak disclosed that during prosecutor mediation, they requested 10 million baht (US$294,724) in compensation due to her husband’s young age, potential, and promising future. However, the other party offered only 1 million baht (US$29,472) and showed no genuine concern, failing to reach out after the accident until the office’s legal officer informed them. Consequently, Sojilak was asked to negotiate on behalf of her husband. Doctor Suteerat confirmed that a fact-finding committee has been established, which is expected to conclude its investigation within 90 days. The next steps involve interviewing Sojilak and the accused before summarising the findings in one to two months. Preliminary legal advice suggests the director could face severe disciplinary action if found guilty. Potential consequences range from dismissal, if the misconduct is severe, to salary reduction for less serious violations. The process will adhere strictly to established procedures, ensuring justice is served, reported KhaoSod. Source: The Thaiger -- 2025-01-22

He then insensitively asked, “Shall we go to a hotel? I’ll cover the room costs.” The incident, which took place today, January 20, at the pier in front of the former district office in Bang Pa-in district, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya province, was shared by the victim on social media. The girl posted photos and a video to warn others of the man’s inappropriate behaviour. The victim, referred to as A, and her 16 year old friend B, filed a report at the Bang Pa-in police station with Police Lieutenant Vallop Meuangloi, seeking action against the man. A recounted the incident, explaining that while they were sitting by the pier, the boat driver suddenly sat between them, embraced her, and suggested going to a hotel, offering to pay for the accommodation. He then tried to kiss her, causing her to flee in shock. When she confronted him, he initially denied his actions and became argumentative and threatening. Fortunately, a nearby angler intervened to mediate, while her friend, suspicious of the man’s actions, secretly recorded the incident on video. Upon being shown the footage, the man apologised. Subsequently, the helpful angler was reportedly attacked by a group of teenagers, leaving him injured, which heightened A’s fears of potential sexual assault and further violence. In response to the incident, Police Colonel Adirek Pothipan, the superintendent of Bang Pa-in police station, ordered an investigation to locate the suspect, reported KhaoSod. The police identified the man in the video as 42 year old Somkid. When brought in for questioning, Somkid admitted to the charges while sobbing at the table.
