What are you going to do with it?
-
Yes, they want USD, they'll take baht but you pay through the nose for the 'privilege'

Can someone recommend a hotel?
Phonepaseuth is good. Clean, AC,friendly, close to the CBD, restaurants and natl museum. I stayed there a couple of weeks ago. Cost about 25-30 bucks a night

No more than normal,it's just becoming more visible due to an increased use of social media and the like.
Agreed, in the US on the other hand there's a definite increase
Not sure where you get your info on crime increasing in the US, but from what I read online is been going down for years. Check your facts before posting something you don't know anything about.

If you don't mind the heat you can go to 700 year stadium for 30 baht per visit.

So according to your post you are an english teacher and everything seems cheap to you?
How's that BTS ticket and the studio apartment working out so far?
You got a bottom of the barrel job in Thailand and of course Thai people will talk behind your back about it.
I would too - just not behind your back - you're a loser. Period.
Most 'bottom of the barrel' English teaching posts pay (30k) twice as much as a Thai person with a degree gets (15k).
It's a gov't job so for the Thai teacher there'd be all the perks added in, insurance, pension, pay raises, vacation time, sick days not to mention gifts in white envelopes. The falang teacher is contract labor and doesn't get the extras,so he's the one getting the short end of the stick.

Standard for embassies and consulates world wide. It's a good job, nice salary and bennies plus double holidays.

Oh. It's open now? They said they will inform members when open again. Lol
Good to know this.
Open a little bit. They don't have the new machines yet. So they'll close again in a couple of weeks to switch out the old equipment.I'd wait a month before giving them any money.

The security guard may have been reacting more to the guy's attitude than his race. Either way the British guy got some instant karma delivered to him.

That's the reason why people in the States and other parts of the world have better lives.
I think the people in Flint, MI, South Central LA, and any number of other US locales would argue with this statement. Thailand is a just place. Like anywhere, it has good points and bad. From the tone of your post I'd say it's time for you to move on to the next challenge. -
let's not turn this into another thread on the Hua Hin incident,
Shouldn't have brought it up then.
-
It depends where you are and how you behave, drive aggressively and behave the same way and you'll see an increase in violence right in front of you, case in point, the Hua Hin incident.
I agree till you use Hua Hin as an example. The way I understand it one of the victims arm brushed against one of Thai guys and a beating was the result. The only violence was from theThais, unless I missed something the victims were not acting aggressive or misbehaving.

Make sure you have the full address of where you're staying. A hotel name in a particular city isn't enough.

I'm going out tomorrow. Will take out 10k from the ATM in the morning. Drinks n food n fun. May need to take out some more in the evening.
Guess that's a whole month's worth gone in one day. D a m n.
if your dick was bigger you wouldn't feel the need to brag about how much money you piss away drinking in a bar all day

What was it about?
-
No, but we've been using it for 4 months and nobody's been sick or broke out in any rashes or anything else.
-
We've been using one of these around the corner. Alot cheaper than Brita filters.

Paying at Seven Eleven shouldn't be a problem. I did it for a ticket from Nok Air a few weeks ago.
