Well, I've been doing 90 day reports religiously.
I really do think if there was a major crackdown demanding additional reporting of condo owners living in their own condos, this would be MAJOR news here on this forum already, and I haven't noticed that.
There must be many many THOUSANDS of such foreign condo owners here on long term visas.
You can only do what you feel is right for you.

Yes, I can do that.
But I need more info about what you're saying.
Was that Jomtien?
Was that an owner of a condo?
I would expect a problem like that if you were renting, etc.
I'm not sure where it was. It was around 2 weeks ago. It was in this visa forum though. I believe it's down to this crackdown of some immigration offices insisting you reporting your address within 24 hours each and everytime time you enter the country. Wasn't someone find 4000bht last week in Pattaya for not being at a reported address?
I believe you certainly need to register your address.

Thanks. I appreciate it.
But frankly, if they were really bothering condo owners for not filing forms (other than address reports) about residing in their own condo, I think there would have been a LOT more news about this.
I'm hearing some news, but can you show me one news story about enforcement against a condo owner not filing a form about living in her own condo?
There's a recent thread where a retirement extension was refused as no TM30 had been filed against the address. I believe they was also fined. Why not just take your Chanote as proof of address for your extension if your the owner?

There is no facility to claim a UK state pension early. I believe without checking the OP would need to wait until he is at least 66, maybe even 67 before he is legible to start receiving it.
The way things are moving in the UK, those of us expats and those on a private pension are liable to be hearing very soon, that we will very likely be getting nothing in the way of a state pension. The last Tory government started to look at it regarding expats but I believe the EU stepped in to stop it. I'm only surprised that this shocking lot haven't yet attempted to get it looked at again. That could change after Brexit.

Great Airline to fly with. Flown with them for years all over the World. Royal Laurel Class is absolutely superb and the best value business class you will find between Europe and Asia.

I know this is a much hated response - but if you hate it, you are free to leave. Yes, we have the freedom to question the logic/validity of these requests, but end of the day it is what it is.
Most cannot go anywhere. They are stuck here with no money and no life in there 2000bht a month fan rooms. You only have to see the bitterness that boils to the surface whenever anybody asks about buying a Condo. Not too worry though because with what is in the pipeline, the no hopers will soon be getting shipped out.

Tell your friend to be prepared to get hit with import duties and customs charges. Until it arrives he won't have a clue just how much he maybe charged.
Household electrical items are cheap to buy new in Thailand. Personally I wouldn't of bothered importing them.

Good old TV. We've moved on to ethnic cleansing. Only here could ethnic cleansing be associated with a SIM card.
A lot of people really do need to be removed from here in Thailand ASAP.

It's all down to morals and upbringing - if you are happy to live in a lawless society (as long as it suits you, mind) then that's your choice, but don't try to make out it is normal.
The day you lose your visa, property, money or possessions - because some corrupt 'official' wants it that way - then you will be first to kick up a fuss...
I think it's time for you to leave Fantasy Island.....Get out before you completely lose your marbles.

So what's a good r/t flight to catch for my 'Elite' visa run?
Thai Airways (TG) to Singapore? Trying not to spend all day at the other country airport waiting for my return flight, which would be the case with TG to Vientiane or KL.
Why not do a straight in and out at KL? In fact, have a night or weekend there and do some shopping.

Anybody that understands Southendnewswork also understands that is published as a joke, laugh, satire on facebook!!
The OP has fallen for it! It published stuff such as 'From Monday morning the M25 will routed the opposite way around and everybody will need to drive a LHD car to use it' etc.

Not sure what your actually asking but you don't need any particular type of visa in order to buy a Condo. The main point is that you need to prove that the funds you are using for the purchase were derived outside of Thailand.

What you have stated is not ironic at all. (You might want to check the meaning of irony).
a state of affairs or an event that seems deliberately contrary to what one expects and is often wryly amusing as a result.

How ironical that people want to report and whinge about paying a 'Bung' but are quite happy to do exactly that, in order to get the rules bent when it suits. You really should be careful what you wish for because come the day when immigration do stick ridgedly to the rules, vast amounts of expats will find themselves out of the country.
I sometimes wonder what go's on in the heads of a lot of people.

Some advice for anybody travelling to Ranong that is already on overstay. Due to the problems in the south, there are a lot of stop and checks in that area.

I just noticed it's the 29th already ?
Your right. Too late now unless he gets the application in pretty sharpish!

A bit to late now since he is leaving on Tuesday the 4th.
He could get a SETV from London in 2 days. Apply one morning and collect the next. Extending that for 30 days gives him 3 months which is a far better start than appearing at Bangkok with nothing and wanting to stay for 6 months.
He also then wouldn't be denied boarding in London.

Or get a correct visa before you travel.

Invading there privacy funny stuff.
My country has 150 nationalities. We offer refuge and help to Asians. In fact we were the first to offer immigration including free homes. These people are lucky we spend out money in there country. I not wish to. My wife's here.
Your lucky to be tolerated here and to be able to stay for long periods of time. I feel heartbroken for you having your privacy invaded over a questionnaire.
People need to get a grip on reality and start realising they are immigrants here and as such, need to be accountable. Of course there is an airport that is open 24/7 with planes available to take you anywhere you choose to go that will make you happy.

Without a WP or a long term Visa, opening an account here now is becoming ever more difficult.

Some of these paranoid comments over a country that the West would do well to take its lead from, are quite funny.

If you have nothing to hide it's no problem. There's nothing on that form they wouldn't know about me anyway.

Just out of curiosity, are there any "scalpers" buying them and selling them at a profit because of the leadtime?
Not that I am aware of. We are not even attempting to use them anymore. They are expensive compared to other manufacturers anyway but were getting a reasonable deal on them as fleet sales. The wild track is very expensive at around £33k retail. The LTD is around £28k.
SETV, passport expiring in 5 months
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits

No idea if it applies to other Nationalities.
How long must my passport be valid for international travel?
Most countries require that a passport be valid for at least six months beyond the completion of a trip. If your passport expires sooner than that, you must apply to renew your passport. Go to Visas to determine how long a passport must be valid for each specific country of travel. In the event that your passport is set to expire go to Renew Passport and get started.
