I have a non o now based on marriage and do yearly extensions and might just change to this one from Elite, would that be possible on my current permission to stay which expires march next year? Ie could I just swap to an elite visa after that in March 2017?
I just dont want any hassles for the next 20 years and it would suit me.
Ubon Joe you do a great job..............but I guess many already know that.
I believe you would need to cancel your non O when you require the PE visa to start.

After reading the whole thread, yes, the OP's story does seem true.
But airlines still have no access to a blacklist register.Haven't they?

15 years in Thailand, speak fluent Thai, happily divorced from my mad ex-wives.
As some comments in this thread suggest, I am too trusting, and this has lead to my downfall before. I am not a hard-nosed business guy and I readily admit that my 'goodwill' (some would call it naivity), has been taken advantage of on various occasions (by both Thai and 'farang').
My Thai family are supportive but fear this guy, as seems many other Thais do in the locality who I have asked for help. Thai anger + krathom + gun is not a good mix
Personally, I'd pay a pittance to a Burmese to 'take out' the guy, as he no doubt might do to me if he loses face.
I will make no decision at all until I get some legal advice.
As to paying the guy to leave my resort, he has already stated the amount ==> a ludicrous 4 million baht Since it only cost me 3 million baht to build, I'm not running to the ATM....
Don't pay him anything. You will never be free of him. Default on your lease agreement as your landlord has suggested. If he persists in staying, let the landlord deal with it.
What can you lose? The land isn't yours and the buildings are useless to you without the land. Empty them of your stuff and anything you can retrieve.
Way up what you have earned against what it owes you. If your more or less square or even in front, walk away. I really fear for this not ending well for you because unless he is dead you are never going to be free of him. I know how this works and your on your own.
You made a mistake but your alive to start again. Wipe your mouth and walk.

Abrupt.....That describes them perfectly! At least you had the extension or you would probably still be on hold

Leasing land as a foreigner and sub leasing back to a Thai....I see this ending badly.

Interesting.

Having waited over an hour on hold at the Thai Embassy in London to receive further clarification, I gave up to wait until later to try and get a straight answer. I will be interested to hear what further enquiries to Hull say.
Unless you have the extension number of the department you require, it's normal for the London Embassy to never answer the phone. When and if they do answer, I will tell you 100% that they will not be very helpful. It is probably the busiest Embassy I have ever been too anywhere in the world. The place is snowed under with people.
They prefer to deal by email and post.

Is that in the main area alongside the other counters?
Looking at the premium lanes, the TE area and immigration office are to the far right of the other Premium desks. It is a dedicated Premium lane for TE members.

But you are interested in clearing immigration (on arrival at Suvarnabhumi) with minimal queueing. Are members allowed to use the Premium or VIP counter or whatever it's called? If not, would someone describe in more detail where the 'hidden behind a screen like it's part of the immi office' Elite counter is located? Are there signs off to the side as you enter the main holding pen type area?
I have no idea why you would want to do everything yourself when you have paid for the service? Using the TE service is by far the quickest way to clear immigration and customs without any hassle at all. I believe the TE members dedicated Premium lane is in a secure area and not sure if you can just walk in alone without an escort.
The only people I have seen there are passengers escorted by immigration for questioning and TE members being escorted by TE staff.- 1

Thanks for your post. Some good information being put together in this thread.

They will issue a second passport as long as you provide justification for needing it. For example, people that travel frequently for work and need to apply for visas during their travels.
Thanks for that. I have never needed it as I always get the one with the most pages I can get. I would imagine though they need some some sort of proof that you really need it and if you were to get caught working the visa system here with 2 passports, there might be consequences?
-
Taking the best rate you can get today,Sterling is down around 10% against the Baht compared to this time last year.

Not that I would but how would I as a UK citizen, get a second valid passport? I've never tried but I cannot imagine they just issue a second one on demand? If they do, that's an eye opener.

Glad you enjoyed it

If continually changing a passport in order to reset a visa count isn't a work around,I really don't know what is!

But with regards to DMK (Don Mueang) all I said above was that it would be nice if TE came up with an official agreement with Immigration so that TE members can official use the current fast track booths now as a "temporary solution" till they officially launch their "own" services at this
I'm with you now! Yes, it would be nice but until they get the go ahead I don't think there is anything they can do at Don Muang.
The desk at Bangkok, you would never know was there. It's in a screened secure area which is also part of the immigration office. Unless your a TE member or escorted by immigration for questioning, you probably wouldn't want to be there.
It also houses the TE reception area where you have a drink while they get your luggage. TE and immigration are very much hand in hand. The reason you never get an issue I expect.

As you can see in the link. A fast track desk exclusive for TE members.

Yes Bangkok. Next year they are hoping to be set up in Don Muang. When they do, I would expect the same facility.

I´d be surprised if they man a booth for PE members only ... even @ BKK.
But just allowing TE members do use any of the existing "VIP booths" at DMK would be a real benefit.
I'm coming through again on Monday evening. I will ask. As I say, it's definitely in a separate area and screened off with TE signs all over it.

Would be great if (prior to launching the full service) they´d officially announce that TE members can use the VIP line at DMK. Fast immigration at DMK would be the main perk for me anyway (not being greeted at the airplane etc).
I'm not sure but I think they have there own premium lane anyway at
suvarnabhumi. It's right next to the immigration office. I assume it's there own Lane as it's the other side of some screens and I've never seen anybody except TE members use it. Your through in a couple of minutes with no delay.

I would be tempted to just get in the VIP line and see if they let it go. Of course you may be directed to go to the end of the queue in the normal line. It never hurts to try.
I came through there last month from KL and the IO wasn't familiar with the PE visa. He needed to look the list of visas up on his screen, ask a colleague and then stamped me in for 12 months. I never tried the premium Lane but it was a quiet day anyway.
I spoke with TE and they confirmed they have put in the permissions to operate a full service from Don Muang but don't anticipate it to start for around 12 months.

I usually fly into Don Muang so I can connect via Nok Air to Ubon area. Does their priority immigration service also apply to that airport?
No, not yet.

Considering worry free Health cover will run you upwards off B100,000 (Depending on age) a year with people such as AXA PPA, then as long as your not easily disappointed and hopefully never need it, then a plan for B12,000 should be fine.
Personally, I really cannot see they can offer too much for that kind of money.
My health care in Thailand is nearly double what I pay in the UK for the same cover, which brings it to around B130,000 a year. I admit it is a top cover policy and you could get cheaper and cut it down should you wish. -

This shortened summary is guilty of the same muddling of "visa" and "permission to stay". It occurs throughout. Example:
I doubt there is site that ever gets the correct analogy right 100% of the time
Hopefully people might find the information, on the whole, useful.

Either way, he needs to cancel any visa or extension in his passport before they will issue the PE visa. They will stipulate that when applies. They will not even consider the application while he is on any other visa or extension. Best he contacts TE for the correct way to proceed.
