Donald Trump Interview | Lex Fridman Podcast #442
RSD1 replied to OneMoreFarang's topic in Political Soapbox
Delusional. You should borrow some money from family members and buy some of Trump's DJT stock. -
The phrase “draining the swamp” was coined by progressives in the early 20th century (not by Trump who used it rent-free during his first run for the presidency) and in U.S. politics the term generally refers to removing corruption, inefficiency, or entrenched interests in government. Not so ironic though is the fact that Trump's actions during his four years as president fully fits the narrative of "the swamp". If the shoe fits...

Fully agree 100% about Bush and Chaney. They were a true abomination and those were some extremely dark years for America. However, Trump also caused some comparable civil and economic damage domestically during his one-term presidency. But thank goodness at least that he wasn’t, and still isn’t, capable of winning a second term. Chaney supporting Harris though is really just a sign of the swamp draining itself.

It’s not worth you worrying about it since you are financially unable to invest anyway.

Donald Trump Interview | Lex Fridman Podcast #442

I would be interested to watch it if she did. It would be an intelligent conversation at least and not a pure insult to American voters. But I also don’t think it will happen. It’s all about campaign strategy at this point and she doesn’t need that interview to help propel her. Trump on the other hand is struggling to remain relevant, while Harris sucks up all the air in the room. Maybe Trump should go on Rogan, Piers, Russel Brand, and the rest of the motley podcasts to try and gain even more exposure to his ghastly ineptitude. Perhaps it would be useful for Harris to go on Lex though after she wins the election and prior to her inauguration. It would help to give the American people a better understanding of what lies ahead for them in terms of her thinking and planned policies under her administration. -
I actually think Trump and Vance are doing a great job together and they shouldn’t change a single thing in terms of their current approach and strategy. Their bumbling campaign efforts, together with all their continued gaffs, missteps, and their ongoing racist and misogynistic comments, are all helping to hand the election to Harris on a plate. I also think everyone was very relieved that Trump didn’t take on a useful running mate. Though no one ever expected Trump to actually choose someone that would help contribute to his downfall when there were presumably some better options for him. But truth is stranger than fiction and let’s do bless Trump’s bizarre attraction to weirdos. So we should all be thankful for Donald’s ongoing campaign buffoonery and his disastrous VP pick who can’t even be trusted to be left alone in a room with a full bottle of mascara and a comfortable looking couch.

Lol.

Amen. In addition, Vance is a huge Achilles heel. With the mortality issue on the table for Trump, most Americans can't imagine taking the risk of having Vance ending up as president. He's not only weird, but dangerously inept.
-
That's just making excuses for ineptitude, but you are basically saying Trump is a fool. That part many can agree with.
-
TBH, Dick Cheney is really mainly doing it to show support for his daughter's decision to support Harris. And his daughter being a respected conservative politician with integrity does matter.
-
The only thing Trump threatens is democracy and the rule of law. That's why so many well known republicans are voting blue.
-
Trump is the swamp. And he lined it with even more swamp dwellers like Paul Manafort, Roger Stone, Steve Bannon, Michael Flynn, George Papadopoulos, Rudy Giuliani, Mark Meadows, Peter Navarro and others who have all either already served jail time and/or have been indicted for their political crimes related to Trump. Trump's own CFO also already served two jail terms for criminal corporate financial fraud that he perpetrated on Trump's own behalf. So the swamp runs deep in Trump world. Then you have the 3 former Trump lawyers and veteran swamp dwellers (Sidney Powell, Kenneth Chesebro and Jenna Ellis) who all pleaded guilty and accepted plea deals in a federal criminal prosecution related to their involvement in efforts to overturn the 2020 election results in Georgia. It's amazing how so many people can have such a distorted view of reality.
-
So all democrats are part of the swamp?
-
You mean like Trump when he lowered taxes for the rich?
-
What defines an elite? Someone like Trump who proclaims to be a billionaire, but when he can't even raise $400 million to pay his own court fines?
-
So, who cares which hand he uses? 🤦🏻♂️
-
That's all true about them and it's even worse with their lies and fabrications about WMD, destabilization of Iraq, etc. But that isn't really the point is it? It's about well known conservatives openly jumping ship and crossing party lines. It's a trend that confirms the Trump cult of personality is steadily dying.

You must be joking. This was garbage. I watched a few minutes when it came online and immediately clicked off. The 200 IQ versus the 20 IQ. It was unwatchable. -
These are dangerous to health because you are inhaling oil and artificial flavor in the form of chemicals into your lungs.
-
Yes, I saw that a few hours ago. I don't see how it changes anything in terms of helping Trump win. It would have hurt Trump if he was sentenced this month, so he might have gotten even less votes as a result, but it won't give him more votes because sentencing is now delayed. It's not an issue on the ballot.
-
Not a nail biter for me. It's a done deal. Americans now have the best reason they ever had to elect a female president and change history and they are going to jump on it. The only niggling thing will be Trump's 2.0 post election campaign to try and subvert the election results again. Hopefully it doesn't get too drawn out though. This time he isn't president, so he will have even less sway with anyone and all of his lackies who fought for him last time either went to jail, lost their law licenses, and/or went bankrupt as a result of his conspiracy. And forget about fake electors and lies about rigged voting machines this time. You can't play those same cards twice. Nor will he be able to try to put pressure on state officials or try and get the DOJ involved. He also doesn't have a vice president that he can try to pressure into rejecting the certification of the election.
-
What hard drugs are you on?
-
He does. And the goose is cooked. Don't see how it can go any other way. Trump lost in 2020, as an incumbent president to somebody even older than him. So that was already bad. Now Trump isn't even president and he's up against someone much younger and who is an incumbent vice president. Meanwhile, Trump is now also a convicted felon. Hard to imagine he really has a chance.
-
You know the tides are heavily turning away from Trump cultism when you have a very conservative and former two-term vice president who openly plans to vote for Harris.
