Might have something to do with the garbage quality phone in Australia that the screenshot was captured on.

Wow, amazing if they are still there. The Thai man who owned it must be retired by now though. He was already in his sixties some 30 years ago. I think I had them make me some shirts and pants too. Was always very well done. Rarely needed any adjustments from what I recall.

Here is a photo. Should help.

That is a true fact. And applies to most of them. Referring to that 80s-90s era, the majority of the big Sikh run tailor shops on Sukhumvit Road, between Soi 1 and Asoke, used to send all their tailoring work to a couple of double-wide shophouses at the end of Soi 4, on the right, just before the entrance to the tobacco monopoly. There were rows of sewing machines and fans spinning day and night. Presumably it was a lot of cheap, migrant labor doing the sewing. The tailor shops on Sukhumvit were/are really just glorified (high priced) fabric shops. Not sure if that's still where all the cutting and sewing is done for the remaining tailor shops, but at that time I was told I could just purchase good quality fabric from Chinatown and take it to one of those shophouses to have it turned into a suit at very low cost. I never tried it out though.

Definitely a true gem. Text from the Nana Hotel website: Tailor Shop When you visit d&d Tailors, it is like entering into your own private fashion design work shop. The highly skilled tailors are very knowledgeable about the latest fashions from around the globe. If yo

Weak. Try reloading.

As long as it's free that all that matters to you. So do add it to your list of travels. You surely won't be disappointed. It even has free toilet paper.

Noticed that. He/She/Him/Her/It/That/ makes posts trying to trigger people 90% of the time, but rarely has anything of relevance, substance or value to add. Many of the posts are broadly off-topic and are usually nonsensical. Just short 3-4 word sentences with an antagonizing tone. OCDC and ADD combined with narcotic drug use is possibly the underlying issue. Got to give it credit though. Never seen another poster receive as many sad and confused smileys on the site. Should be given an award! 🥇

I get it. So many free public toilets, so little time. 👍🏼

It's fantasy and fetish for some I think.

OK, 2015, I was close enough.

Got it. 👍🏼

I thought my OP was clear: Your first visit to Thailand was in 2019 and, thus you have no reference. I wouldn't expect you to have anything useful to add to the topic.
-
Sorry, don't know that person. I don't think there is a member on this site with that username?
-
Presumably, lots of runny eggs, all throughout the hotel. 😉
-
Agreed. But this topic is in a very different stratosphere.
-
Sorry, I got a bit lost. Who are you referring to? Anyway, a lot to be said for a cheap breakfast if it's good and to have someone sit on your face, if it's good too. Nana Hotel can still probably cover you on both. But most would value that in any city of the world.
-
Yeah, a shame some of the other old gems like it are gone like The Honey Hotel, The Federal Hotel, etc.
-
Thats 9 kilometers away from the Nana Hotel. How is that in any way relevant to the subject of the atmosphere of the Nana Hotel lobby 30-40 years ago? Why don't you now give us a list of at least 50 more hotels located within any part of Bangkok priced at under 1,000 Baht a night? I'm sure everyone reading this thread came here for just that kind of hard to find information. I'll be awaiting your fine intel with bated breath.
-
Wow, you are quite the brave adventurer. I'm impressed.
-
What an astounding epiphany. Are there also lots of new hotels that are new?
-
FFS, more screen captures from your cell phone that nobody needs. Are you going to post photos now from every 2-3 star hotel within a 10 block radius of the Nana Hotel? Since you have nothing better to do, here are 3 more to get you started, make sure you post at least 5 photos from each one: The Atlanta The Miami Ruamchitt Plaza
-
Photos nobody needed. Plus, nobody needs you to post photos from Australia that everyone has the same access to on Google Maps in Thailand. Also, anyone who has been in Thailand for a long time knows the place very well. So a total waste of bandwidth, along with 98% of your posts. Why don't you simply follow what I posted in my OP below?

There actually used to be a really good tailor shop in the basement of the Landmark Hotel. It might have been called Profino Suit. Not sure if it's still there, I doubt it. It was owned and run by an older Thai man and his Indian son-in-law. Prices weren't the lowest, but it was quality and reliability. Another good one was on Silom Road next to Silom Complex in a small shop house. Also Thai owned and operated. It was called JR Tailor. Again, probably gone by now.
