  1. All the posts saying "Well, I live in Nakorn Nowhere and I haven't seen any of these types" gives me a good giggle. As if people are totally oblivious to the foreign lager louts and troublemakers in Thailand just because they live in East Burifoonk seems pretentiously naïve. All you have to do is read some of the "news" posts on this site, which I am sure they do, and there the baddies all are with photos, pointing fingers, and red circles and arrows right in front of you.
  2. Plenty in Bangkok too. Heaps in Phuket and Samui. Some in Hua Hin. Probably a few around the bars in CM as well.
  3. I'm surprised @bob smith hasn't chimed in on this post. He's usually keen to bash anything about Thailand. I guess, since the topic is having a go at foreigners, and is not something about the locals mistreating foreigners, it's not his flavor then is it?
  4. LBJ? Lady Boy Jaunt? He will need bob (tranny) smith to help him with that.
  5. Doubling down illiterate. Nice!
  6. Most people either go for smart or clever, but you've decided not to go for either one. Congratulations, very original.
  7. Michelle Obama with Biden as her VP running mate would beat Trump like a red headed stepchild, hands down.
  8. They are factual. Have you ever renewed a driving license in Thailand and had to watch the mandatory driver education videos? They quote similar figures. Also, do a search for "Thailand's roads second-deadliest in world, UN agency finds" from 2015. I can't link the article.
  9. Technically Thailand is second only to South Africa or Libya, depending on the year. Average is 20,000+ per year or around 65 per day. https://thethaiger.com/hot-news/road-deaths/thailand-second-most-dangerous-place-in-the-world-to-drive https://thethaiger.com/news/world-road-toll-will-thailand-move-first-place https://coconuts.co/bangkok/news/thailands-roads-second-deadliest-world-world-health-organization/
  10. I know you don't mean to be condescending, but so many punters like you on AN who assume they are always talking at a Newb if they've been here for a minute. I've been to nearly every part of Bangkok imaginable. I don't live in a Soi Nowhere, thankfully, but I've seen many of them. They all get foreigners from time to time too. And I am happy to live where there is a greater concentration of expats, not because I want to be surrounded by them, but because it makes the services I want more readily available. Everything I need is within walking distance as a result. So it's an issue of convenience. Unfortunately most of us have been to Chaengwattana, many more times than we'd like to in fact. Thousands of foreigners going out there everyday for a bit more ink in their passports. First time I was in Phuket, Bangla Road was just dirt and not paved. The potholes could be daunting driving along on the GSXR I had rented. But the smiles of the girls back then made up for it. I also used to teach a course at a Thai university and in Thai 😉
  11. when your only friends are ones that you meet up with when you go to ladyboy bars, that's hardly a shocker.
  12. 1 in 5 Americans has one of the two forms of Herpes. Same for much of the West. So 20% of the population has it. If you know 10 people then at least 2 of them have it.
  13. Ghetto has become a word used in modern English to define anywhere that has a collective of something. So, yes, Thonglor is a ghetto for the rich.
  14. Where do you get that? It's nearly 100 Baht for a small jar of high quality peanut butter at Villa. I eat it with a spoon and hard to make it last more than a day. If I can do four then you should be able to do two. If not, buy a bigger booty, money is no object, right?
  15. Well in that case let's not forget how lucky we are that there is no shortage of road deaths. Thailand is number one in the world in fact. 60+ per day on average. Hub of road carnage. Be good or be good at it, right? You also forgot to mention that it is one of the only countries where you can be so lucky as to go home with a woman and wake up with a man, right?
  16. I reckon if I went up to Bootyram, Ubon Nowherethani, etc then I would see more foreigners there than I would find in Western Bangkok?
  17. Just doing some quick math, you've only seen around 30 foreigners in your area of Western Bangkok in the last 15 years? I guess if I only defined foreigners as anyone wearing a Beer Chang tshirt then I guess I could say the same.
  18. I just had a hummer last night. I would dare call her yellow though.
  19. We are creatures of habit. Many of us lived a life of saving to reach that point. It's the only reason you made it. But once you get there, you don't know how to live any differently.
  20. Car very low to the ground. Would only take a temporary flash flood during rainy season.
  21. Well, I used to live in Khlongtoey and now I live in Thonglor. Both are ghettos. In fact, is any part of Bangkok not a ghetto except for Taling Chan where there aren't any foreigners living? I'll also be heading to the DLT office in Taling Chan in the near future. Just giving you a heads up so you can make sure you don't see me. Don't want to ruin your blissful paradise.
