besides the no entry ban for 1 year ,what are their actions when i cannot pay the overstay fines

This was posted on TV in response to the same question: "If a person can't pay the fine they need to first clear the fine by appearing in court, receive a sentence, do the time in a regular prison, and finally be transferred to IDC and await deportation."

You get 200B deduction per day in jail though, I was told.

I think I am asking too much but here goes.

When someone has gone down the full route of applying for and getting TE membership in the UK and then having the visa issued in Thailand, could they (please) list in chronological order the procedures as applied to them.

It just saves so much time to see what really has to be done as opposed to repeating the guesswork.

Many thanks for this excellent thread.

I hope that somebody will reply to your request, mind you, in what way do you think it would be any different to when you apply from the US, anywhere in the world or from within Thailand? The process is always the same!?

Entering business day 5 now, hoping to hear from them today but I dont expect it. Took me two days and three phone calls just to get the application form sent to my email and another two days for them to acknowledge that they had received the application. To be honest, not the elite experience I hoped for...

Yeah, they haven´t responded to 2 follow-up emails I sent them last week (regarding other topics than the current approval process). Given that they claim to be available 24/7 that´s not very convincing but then again, once I have the visa in my pp I won´t care.....

The only thing I can suggest if you are not happy is to look for another company.

For me, it suits my purpose and Ive never been let down. Better rate less fees thats all I can ask for.

Jeez, you're completely missing the point AGAIN!

I've been transfering 6 digit sums from both my EUR and my GBP accounts. So I am indeed a (happy) customer of them. The only discussion that you completely have missed the point about was about guaranteed vs non guaranteed exchange rates of which there are both when using transferwise (depending on the currency pair).

But I rest my case since as per my signature you clearly beat me with your experience. But I still wish you a nice day in LOS.

Its not something I look at or concerned with, as I said I send from the UK and use sterling and so not interested what they do in Euros Dollars or anything else.

The fact they are based in the UK may have something to do with it.

Again, that's not the point but anyway :-))

Thats because the fee is deducted from the transfer amount, (unlike Xendpay  with which you have to add the fee onto the transfer amount) its the same with sterling. Transfer 1000 GBP and you will get 1000 - 7.46 fee the balance is then converted to THB so you will actually get 992.44 GBP converted and sent

That's not the point. As stated above, if you transfer GBP to THB transferwise guaranteeds the exchange rate whilst for EUR to THB conversions they don't.

I used and still use both whoever offers the best rate at the time, I accept it takes a few days longer than the banks but the rate you have agreed is locked in, at present Transferwise since reducing their rates is the better option but I have no complaints about either company.

It's not locked when converting to THB.

    Greetings from Thailand Elite ….

We have received scanned application form along with photograph and copy of passport. We already sent to check the record with an immigration office. This process will be about 5 working days. Once we obtain an approval letter, we will send to you via e-mail.  "

To be honest, not the elite experience I hoped for but then again, its just the visa Im after so I dont mind. After 10 wonderful years in the country Im kind of used to have to push for information/things to get done :)

It takes a while ... I submitted my application on 10 May and they forwarded it to immigration on the 11th but I haven't heard anything from them since. I won't need the visa before the end of June so it's not a big deal for me that it takes them a little bit longer ...

Hi all, wondering if anyone is on thier 3Rd time metv? I'm about to fly back to Sydney for a week and apply for my 3Rd round of metv, I won't have an issue obtaining the visa label, but I am a bit worried about immigration at bkk, as last time I flew back to Sydney for 10 days obtained my seccond metv then flew right back into bkk, I did get somewhat grilled about other visas in my passport but not the actual seccond metv, this was also in the fasttrack/premium lane,

I would be keen to hear any feedback for people who have done thier third metv, especially back to back,

Yes, that will be kind of interesting to learn. But then again, even if someone reports back that he/she had no issues when entering the Kingdom on the 3rd consecutive METV this does not mean you won´t have any issues either. After all, you are reporting on being grilled with your 2nd back to back METV whilst I personally never had a single issue when entering on my 2nd METV (also back to back). Would you not apply for your 3rd METV if a single TV user told us of being grilled when entering on his 3rd back-to-back visa? What are your alternatives that would let you sleep any better?

But I fully understand that it would be a little bit reassuring if a few users on their 3rd METV told us about having no issues whatsoever when entering the country. So let´s see what responses you will get. In the meantime, have a safe and enjoyable trip back home!

  10. Hello,

I have been living in a condo here in Bangkok for almost a year now but the rental agreement was based on a mutual agreement between my Thai landlady (living in Europe) and myself. I know her personally, so written arrangements were not really needed at the time. Since I will change my visa type soon, the 90 days reporting will be on my to do list in the not too distant future. I was told that a formal rental agreement would be beneficial or even needed when visiting Chaeng Wattana in connection with the 90 days report. Now, I want to make this as simple as possible for both the landlady and myself and wondered where I could find a simple 2 - x page contract that I could use and just update with my current address, the rent agreed etc. I´ve found a 14 page bi-lingial TH/UK  sample contract on the web and could use that one but 14 pages sounds a bit excessive and I´d prefer to maybe have a short 2 pager (if possible).

Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
