Are Carryboy covers illegal on 2 door 4x4s?
ningnong replied to ningnong's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
True but I want to know if it is legal to put a Carryboy on a 2 door 4 wheel drive truck. A member posted in the past that it is illegal to put a Carryboy on a 2 door 4 wheel drive truck. He was very specific about it in his post. -

Are Carryboy covers illegal on 2 door 4x4s?
ningnong replied to ningnong's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
That is on the list to do, not call but go visit. But....if someone there says off the top of their head no problem I still will not be certain until the day I show up with the canopy on the truck. It would be great to see the actual law in writing. -

Is your truck a 4x4? Does it have a cap/canopy? Smart cabs are still considered a 2 door. -
Are Carryboy covers illegal on 2 door 4x4s?
ningnong replied to ningnong's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
But do you know for a fact that they are not illegal for a 2 door 4x4? 2 wheel drive trucks are not a problem with installing the canopy. I think the issue is, if there even is an issue, 4 wheel drives are heavier but 4 door trucks are taxed differently than 2 door trucks. If it is illegal to have one on a 2 door 4x4 it would make it a target at the checkpoints I'd rather not risk that hassle. -
A member here posted this back in 2014: "....Those "carryboy" covers are illegal on 2 door 4x4s.... Most trucks you have to have it noted in the blue book. 2 door 4x4, not allowed. 4 door 4x4s are ok." Has anyone here installed a canopy/cap on a 2 door 4x4 and had it successfully checked and noted in the blue book? Online images I've seen of 4x4s in Thailand with a canopy are all 4 door.

What I got out of the INN article linked in the OP. Pol. Gen. Surachate Hakpal did not confirm Am poisoned all 12. He said there is a total of 12 bodies involved with one survivor. The doctor for the one survivor made it clear he/she was poisoned. Before cremation autopsies had been performed on some of the victims so information should be available about those victims.

Intoxicated Man Beats Friend to Death in Phuket Over A Rude Comment
ningnong replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
Your comment: "Look at how they live, nothing more than savages" As if how they live had something to do with this attack. Therefore I assumed you come from a country where you don't live like savages so therefore lack brutal attacks. I was just curious which country that might be. I come from the US and pretty sure that any brutality in Thailand pales in comparison by a long shot. But really I'm much more curious as to why you think Thais live like nothing more than savages. -

Care to share the name of your native country which is apparently free of savage acts? -

Several years ago when I was ready to return to Thailand after about a 10 year break to take care of responsibilities back home I decided to try web dating. For my settings I selected to only chat with women 40-45 years old living in a village within 120km of Khon Kaen and who already owned their own house and farm. I had already lived several years in a village with my first wife so I knew the life style already and obviously liked it. And it has worked out great so far. -

This beloved poster, how old, what was his appearance and did he have the language skills to chat up a young Issan woman? If the typical expat he was at least 60 with a belly dressed sloppy and no local language skills. Did he expect to just roll in and have the "good girl" open her legs after a few furtive glances? -
Retirement Extension. Money in bank
ningnong replied to somo's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I always shoot for Wednesdays or Thursdays in the morning when dealing with Immigration, banks etc. folks tend to be in a decent mood. Monday is a definite no-no. Khon Kaen office is friendly too and easy to have a conversation with. -
Thank your for the helpful information and links!

My heartfelt apologies. In your OP I noticed the format indicated a copy and paste and was hoping for the source that exact text was copied from.

When you go to immigration be sure you and your wife dress politely, no shorts, no sandals. If it looks like things aren't going to go in your favor have your wife explain what happened and how badly you feel about it and that you are more than willing to pay a fine for any increased workload this will cause. -
Finnish man accused by neighbours of insulting Thai people
ningnong replied to snoop1130's topic in Isaan News
That may well be true but he was not buying Leo he was buying a small bottle of เหล้าขาว lao khao. I have no idea of the price for the small bottle but in the past a large bottle was 120 baht. I could believe a small bottle is 70 baht. -

เหล้าขาว - White whiskey or as some locals call it: whai-wii-sa-kee Oh, and transliteration sucks. He was drinking from 1pm until 7pm and had a fight with his wife at home. She did try to prevent him from returning to the store. Previous post I held her partly responsible for not keeping him home but after watching the video I see she did try supported by CCTV. -

If you watched the video to the end the media correspondents are grilling the woman from the shop about the knife and how he got his face damaged. From the repeated questions it looks like they are a little skeptical about the part where he injured his face falling on it. And he clearly was behaving very badly. -

To be clear he is buying the cheap Thai whiskey laocow, way stronger than beer. Nasty stuff and drinking it in very hot weather is not very clever. He is already drunk when buying the bottle in the video. Drank that bottle too and then returned to the store clearly looking to be pest. -

Issan is not your nanny state country where cops are a few minutes away and government controls every facet of life. Issan is completely opposite. Villagers are still independent and self-reliant, taking care of their own problems without feeling the need to immediately call a cop or a lawyer to fix their problems. There's a lot of people in our Farang countries that can continually get away with being absolute jerks because they no longer have a fear of getting their heads broken. Punch them out and you're looking at jail and a lawsuit. I prefer Issan justice over that any day and justice can be swift here as this guy found out. He's not going to be rude in the village again. -

The guy looks like he spends time in the gym and his wife has a bit of tiktok fame. Looks like a nice enough guy when sober. I listened to a Thai news report and it sounds like he was probably quite drunk and definitely being a jerk while trying to buy a bottle of laokow. I think his wife blew it by letting him out of the house knowing he could be belligerent when drunk. It would have taken a few Thais to whip him no doubt. Xray of broken jaw looks nasty. https://www.tiktok.com/search?q=อ้อยซีเคร็ท
