I came to Phuket from Pattaya three days ago. Either proof of vaccine or negative PCR-test is required, along with registering on gophuget.com and downloading some app called mor-chana or something like that. I had no problems at all getting in.

    did you fly or drive?

  3. hi, i've read a few posts but they seem out of date or loaded with spammers.

someone wants to pay me for something in bitcoin. how would i take that and get baht? (i'm in thailand now, UK passport or thai passport ok too)

i assume i need to open a bitcoin account at something like bitkub, have them send the btc there, then i withdraw to a thai bank act. is that right? are there any rules on fees, taxes, limits i should know about.

please don't reply and tell me to hold onto it, i'm asking for an answer on this question only. thanks

  4. i already went to the US embassy and got a https://th.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/90/2020-marriage-affidavit-bangkok.pdf

    signed and stamped already.

so i went to the amphur and that wasn't enough of course. so i guess i need that translating and 'legalizing' by the ministry of foreign affairs.

so i have my GF call the ministry of foreign affairs and they said i need 2 things translating and certifying but not sure what the second is.

    any ideas?

    thx

I know of no reason why your residency would have any bearing on the immigration process for your wife assuming everything else is in order. You apply for an immigrant visa (based on marriage) and if she is approved, she will receive her visa and "immigrant package" and when she first enters the US she will be processed by CPB/CIS and if allowed entry, she will received a temporary "green card," and withing 4-6 weeks will receive the permanent one.

For the I-864, you will need to either:

    A) Actually have US domicile...meaning moving back to the US before the visa is issued, OR

    B) Show sufficient intent to establish US domicile. This means showing that you have concrete plans to move back at the same time as or before the visa applicant.

There are some examples of both of these in the NVC wiki: https://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Process
