2000 baht, but look up the requirements. It isn't meant to be used as a way to get to simply extend your stay. For example, if it is based on retirement, they will want you to show 800,000 baht in a Thai bank account that came from overseas.
You could get 30 extra days at immigration with an Extension on a Visa Exempt Entry.
Just Saw Your Edit: Since a marriage Extension requires a Non Imm Permit to Stay, this would be the path to it.
cool, thanks again, i actually have a non O now from london and in the process of waiting for my married extention to come through, but this path would have been easier. now i know.

Yes, although it is not exactly a Non-Imm-O Visa, as it is immediately marked as 'USED'. It is really a conversion of of an entry, Visa Exempt or Tourist Visa, into that of an Non-Imm-O. You will receive a 90 day permission to Stay and a 'Used' Visa Stamp. It is issued as a precursor to obtaining a one year Extension.
thanks for the non <deleted>ty answer, i guess in thai visa, that's quite rare.
so if i arrive with no visa at all (UK passport) i can get a used non-O at my local immigration which will give me another 90 days? how much does that cost? thanks
BTW, i meet all the requirements for married extension

so can you get a non O inside thailand while here on a 30 day visa exempt arrival? eveything i've ever read said it can only be got from thai embassy outside thailand
-

Supposedly these new rules (whatever their interpretation which as usual is clear as muddy mud) go into effect at the end of this October.
i arrived on a non 0 middle of september and plan to do a married extension in december, how early can you start that extension?

i had a week in Cebu last year and was bored to death. only 1 ok bar to go to and everyone smoked so hard to spend the evening in there without smelling like an ashtray the next day
maybe a bigger town would be more fun but i'm not in a hurry to go back to PH any time soon.

any tips on how to make this work, i enter all my details, passport scan and photo less than 500k bytes and click verify and continue and it uploads ok, then says waiting for thaievisa.go.th then times out and dies, or sometimes i get Access is invalid, please try again. i've tried about 10 times. very frustrating.
any one had any luck getting it to work?
thx

if it's 12 miles off shore why is it anything to do with thailand, i think that's international waters
1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea
- Territorial waters, or a territorial sea, as defined by the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, is a belt of coastal waters extending at most 12 nautical miles (22.2 km; 13.8 mi) from the baseline (usually the mean low-water mark) of a coastal state.

i'm here on a 30 day visa exempt (US passport) and someone told me i should be able to extend by 60 days because i'm married to a Thai. is that correct and what do i need to show at immigration?
thx

Actually, i'm only planning to stay in Cebu for a couple of days and then Pangloa for about 5 days.
thinking about a longer term future there, maybe half half TH and PH
where's a good place to hang in Cebu, some kind of expat bar? what else to do besides the obvious.
thx

applying for schengen visa for france for my wife, i'm a uk citizen, she already has a uk tourist visa
i read this
TLScontact procedure is not compulsory, applicants can also go directly to the Embassy’s Visa Sector to submit their application in person. Applicants must set Embassy appointments through our call center: +66 (0)2696 3888. Submission time at the French Embassy, Monday morning only
so i called and they said first appointment is april 10, but i'll be in bkk next monday. i wonder what would happen if you showed up at the embassy without appointment. do you think they would let you in? anyone tried?
thanks, steve

thanks again, so you said ' If you chose the optional approach of applying via TLS there will be a service fee. Direct applications fee the embassy itself would ofcourse not cost a service fee. ' but i don't see how that is possible? according to the french and swiss embassy websites, you have to go through TLS
-
thanks for the link. i don't recall if she had her prints taken for the last schengen visa and that was done at the swiss embassy anyhow. maybe they are still on file from 2009?
so i need to get the marriage certificate verified by UK embassy. i wonder how much that costs?
also, she has no thai birth certificate, but that didn't seem to be a problem last time so hopefully ok this time.
-
thanks, i had no idea she could get it for free.
yes, i'm british and she's had a UK and schengen visa before.
i'm a little unclear about the process then. she has an appointment via the TLS website already. are you saying she does not need to bring proof of flight, accommodation and insurance since she's married to a UK citizen?
-
my wife has just applied for a schengen visa at the french embassy. on the list of docs to bring it says flight tickets.
i was hoping to wait a while and get the visa first, is it really required to get the tickets now?
also, do they check you have accommodation booked for the entire trip? i was hoping to book as i go.
also, it looks like they want her to get travel insurance. can that be any travel insurance place in thailand or is there a list of approved ones somewhere?
thanks
