you will get a good rate if booking it as a flight/accomo package through an agent ,booking accomo only by yourself much more expensive.

buy ticket from any agent ,should include minibus pick up to dock (45 mins) ferry about 1 hr 40 mins .but you tend to have to wait until the boat is full and that can take another hour.

I think that your fairly safe with beef given that the kitchen facilities are hygienic. However, pork is a different matter. I had some undercooked laarb moo at a stall in Petchabun last year and couldn't travel further than 10 metres* from the toilet for a week! Gastroenteritis they called it.

* I moved the fish closer to the toilet.

raw pork is very dangerous as it carries all sorts of nasties like liver flukes etc

really needs proper double cream.

cook steak till done to your taste ,coat in cracked black pepper ,flash fry quickly 20 seconds each side,plonk in a big slurp of brandy and flambe.

add a half a cup of cream ,leave for 2 minutes to caramelise down and bingo the perfect pepper steak that i have been selling in my restaurant for 24 years.........enjoy!
