He’d have been better off heading to Cambodia. -

I think being dead is a pretty solid alibi? -

I think Columbo would be focussing on the young relative who is possessed with her spirit? Thais don’t seem to have grasped the concept of “omertà”. -
British man dies in failed parachute jump from Pattaya condo
AlexRich replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
There are many clowns in this world, especially the ones who seem to believe that they are “experts” on Base jumping (and every other subject they choose to speak on). The jump was doable. But even a doable jump can end in tragedy. -
British man dies in failed parachute jump from Pattaya condo

No. Incredibly brave. It takes guts to BASE jump, it’s not a sport for the faint hearted. One mistake and you are dead. I don’t see them as much different from mountaineers braving the “death zone” at Everest. Like the French guy who traversed between the Twin Towers in the 70’s on a tightrope. Mad as a box of frogs but brave nonetheless. -

These guys are incredibly brave to Base Jump. The only problem is that as humans, we make mistakes, and one mistake for them is normally deadly. RIP. -
Trump is dominating the primaries. That doesn’t mean he’ll beat Biden
AlexRich replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Yes. It amazes me that many Americans view Trump as a controversial, but otherwise normal candidate. It's unbelievable. -

I would like to take you back to the last time that Trump met Putin. He met him without any advisor to record what was said. He left the room at the press conference looking like Putin’s lackey, head bowed in submission to his master. He then preceded to tell everyone that his intelligence service has told him Putin interfered in the US election. But as Putin told him he did not, he believes Putin? He’s an asset of the Russian state, a Manchurian candidate. And many decent Americans believe this guy is the saviour of the country? I don’t understand that at all, it’s as if a large percentage of the population have joined a cult. Trump in power will lead to dictatorship in the US, and the abolition of your Constitution. A disaster for the world and a precursor to war and misery. Wake up folks! -

I completely understand that if you are a life long Republican you would be naturally inclined to support the GOP candidate. That is the normal way of things. However, I don’t know how any American can look at Trump and believe he’s the guy to lead the country? A vote for Trump is a vote for the end of democracy in the US, and a move that will embolden Russia, and seriously weaken NATO. The world is looking increasingly reminiscent of the 1930’s, the rise of dictators and the march to World War. -
Joint Bank Account with Thai partner

Would it be possible to open a foreign account, say in Singapore, that your wife could access should something happen to you? -
The A-One hotel gym is open to anyone who can pay the membership. It has nice shower and changing facilities and the people who go there are very decent. That was my experience.

A bit far from you, but the gym at the A-One hotel on Beach Rd on Soi 3 is very good, and safe for a female.

We're not in China-Piano Incident
AlexRich replied to sqwakvfr's topic in UK & Europe Topics and Events
The problem is that the Police responded to the Chinese accusation of “racism”, foolishly. The Chinese complained about being filmed, even though the only reason they appeared on film was that they stood in front of the camera. Ironically one of their party was filming the pianist. What makes me laugh is that China is the world’s premier surveillance society, with face recognition cameras everywhere, and with digital surveillance of foreigners smart phones when they turn them on after arriving in the country. if they ever succeed in dominating the world we will all be living in our own version of 1984. Orwell was a very prescient writer. -
Two fellow employees beat him up, the motive not known at this time. Click the link to the article. Just another day in the Land of Smiles.

What is wrong with Thai women (on dating websites) in 2024
AlexRich replied to StayinThailand2much's topic in General Topics
I suspect that many are prostitutes, and the rest are a bunch of guys sitting in an internet cafe in Nigeria looking for a lonely sucker to send them money. I still think it’s better to meet people the old fashioned way. If you are staying in Thailand that’s easy, and if you are overseas but planning to go to Thailand then wait until you get here. Long distance relationships are not relationships at all. -

What's in store in 2024? Probably much the same as before ... some poor farang drinks way too much alcohol, stumbles down Soi 6/1 ... and wakes up the next morning with a very sore ... bottom!! -

That it goes up and down like a whore's drawers? I own a little myself, but it is just fun money for speculation.
