Hi
Retired a while back, and been real heavy into python programming language ( self taught after retirement ) - can get any data set I want ie 2500 ETF tickers going back 15 years if avail.... used some algorithms ie. Efficient Frontier etc, had some success, overall still made decent money, but really feel I need a more educated approach to it.
Anyone know of any really courses ?
found this one - not cheap - and no clue good or bad

any advice appreciated

I think you need a degree in "Asian" to work it out.
I've been able to buy many (often in the many $100s) things from Amazon.com, including UPS 3 days delivery arrive without hassle, cheaper and faster than I can buy on Lazada and with no concerns of receiving fakes. Yet I've also ordered a low end ($200) 3D printer that was impounded on arrival pending me showing them my industrial import license and $100 worth of gel scar sheets impounded pending my providing a medical import license. Both fully refunded by Amazon even though they never made it out of customs. Someone in the know has a free 3D printer and someone else got some free Cica Gel sheets that they probably tried to eat.
Never had any issue with 10s of purchases from China. All I know from my own and other's experience is that once it gets queried or held it's a painful journey to sort out and often not worth bothering.
Thanks all....
Import duties last time about 4000 baht.... if incurr next time, will take the receipt and go visit the customs department and ask them why

Thx for the heads up Skip, yeh, na, would do as you say anyways, no PCR or hospital stay if I get it, even with private cover, not unless I'm really struggling that is.
Question, age, smoker, non-smoker and any pre-existing conditions would help if you don't mind.
Dont drink / smoke ( yeh - a nerd ) and no health issues - late 50's

To the title...hell NO
Forced hospitalization, a money grab, without the need for meds or a ventilator is just plain silly.
I am now naturalised.... so govt actually pay alot towards the hospitalisation - the again.... maybe back end payments to th top are a new way to spin money - who knows. ????

I bought 2 X RATs which I keep at home just in case I or tirak come down with Omi. We're both fully vaxed and both very healthy. We've already discussed it together and if we catch Omi we're not telling a soul and will just self isolate until it passes (3-5 days seems the average) We have plenty of food, water, meds at home. We have separate rooms if only one of us gets it, but that would seem unlikely as we're together all the time. Of course if one of us took a bad turn and needed medical care then we'll handle that is it arises, but all the people I know who have caught Omi were fighting fit a week later.
Interesting that prior to the Omi variant I did not know one person anywhere in the world who had contracted covid-19. Now all of a sudden I have dozens of close friends in Thailand, UK, Australia who have caught the virus, people of varying ages and varying degrees of health and fitness, and they all report that they had mild cold/flu like symptoms that lasted for 3 days.
We are in sync 100%. well written

Ps - home quarantine until day 14. Also nuts in my opinion - am sure it was Omricon and it left just as fast as it arrived.
the 14 days is still based on the Alpha.version from 2020
Sure - let’s be super conservative - 14 days - after all most Thai people have a wad of cash stashed and don’t need to work to survive ( not )

Hi Sheryl
i was an inmate for 5 nights. Dr blatantly lied “ x province has no policy for early release”, obviously did not want the pressure
Our govt care appointee was good though - after hearing I had no symptoms on day 3, but day 5 pushed the Dr to release me
Everyones experience will differ, but if the majority experience Omricon like me, then just get it and be done with if your vaxed. It really was trivial for me, had far far worse

PCR or ATK ?
I would recommend ATK unless your worried and would welcome a potential mandatory stay at a hospital.
I tested positive on arrival in Bangkok, and was wisked off to a hospital - incredibly boaring, <deleted>ty internet and Dr maintained there is no way to be released early ( which turned out to be a big fat lie ).
It get complicated quick - I you have a family, I if your Mrs gets it a few days later - off she goes too, and might have to take the kids to a hospital room if no one to take care. and if they catch it from each other in a delayed manner - thats maybe 20 days.... 20 days dont sound like a lot, but it feels forever when your in that bare walled room.
Most commonsense approach if low to mild symptoms, do ATK and stay at home - you dont want the stress the officialdom bearing down on you.
Had a sniffly nose for 2 or 3 days - that was it ! ( similar to acquaintances and family members overseas ). Really got me thinking about maybe the best approach is to let it run wild rather than tearing up the economy. Dont give a <deleted> about the intentionally unvaccinated, just wondering how to keep the at risk group safe ( cant get vaccinated, or vaccinated and risk group ). I guess its easy for me to say now as I know I can handle it, which I did not know prior to getting it. Had far far worse flu's than this
Credit to our care officer from the govt, did his best to steer us through the process, and pushed to Dr to release me early.

My 10 cents..
I had to read 100 pages to figure out entry to Australia, and still got 2 things wrong. Traveling is not easy during covid times
-
Would like to know where to find the precise rules on what to do after testing positive for COVID.
Read in one article and heard from others if after about 5 days PCR test clear, can quarantine at home if you have a house ( for thai citz )
any advice appreciated

There are a number of insurance brokers that can help with corporate property and casualty insurance programs. Don't try to do it yourself directly with insurers, find a good broker to help you.
Some of the larger multinational brokers have units that help SMEs, so you might want to contact Marsh, Aon or Lockton. They have offices here. If they are not able to meet your needs, there are smaller insurance brokerage companies that can do a good job for SMEs and which may be a better fit for your business. PM me if you want me to suggest someone.
thank you

Does anyone know where you can get commercial general and professional liability insurance for a small company ?

You missed the toxic polluted sea water. Open Beach Sewer Channels typically running straight into the sea at both ends of most beaches, deliberate design of course.
Swim Only in my 17 mtr Home Pool for Daily HIIT Fin Swims.
Open Water & Boat Trips here ( and anywhere) are WAY too Hazardous to Life. Just not worth it.
Will Walk on Beach, with my kid, getting my feet wet in the surf, but thats it.
Kid & Lady BANNED from Open Water (sea, river, lake) & Boats everywhere.
Must be from the UK. What a load of trollop.
Pattaya used to be terrible 20 yrs back, but its it has cleaned up way better.
All thai houses have a septics tank, as such there is no toilet sewerage going into the sea.
Yes, I am a diver too - 1200+ dives and have dived all over Thailand and Asia. Similans has had some of the most amazing viz I have ever seen - at one time almost limitless, and you could see the 40m dee sea bed when getting in the water
Agree with the other OP, would probably stay away from Patong, but Nai Harn area can be nice.

There is a problem though for people who travel. There are studies approved ie 2 doses of Astra or Pfeizer which are accepted by WHO and as such allow you to travel.
But, WHO and many govt bodies have no solid data on mix and match..... so might not be able to travel

I been saying this since April... its clear Thailand was good at controlling Covid previously, but Delta is a new animal
