More the pity that the constitution does not do that. Sadly few countries do. But banning public display of symbols will do nothing to curtail the activities of these idiots. Just make them feel more outraged and feed their conspiracy theory nonsense. The only way to fight a bad idea is with a better one. Don't add fuel to the fire by giving them any reason to feel hard done by, especially by the government. Plus the law also bans the private sale of this kind of thing, for whatever the reason. So if collector A wants to sell his old German flag to collector B, he is breaking the law. So not just a speech issue, but one of business as well.

...and how about far left wing ideologies? They going to ban the hammer and sickle soon? Or pictures of Mao or Che Guevara? Tolerance is one of the cornerstones of a diverse and free society. A couple morons waving the flags of a defeated nation won't have any influence at all. Just laugh at them and ignore them. By giving them a grievance you only make them feel persecuted.

Nicholas Eberstadt wrote about this earlier this year- a very good article IMHO: https://www.nationalaffairs.com/publications/detail/education-and-men-without-work What you say is part of the truth. Also the competition from illegal workers which drive wages down in certain jobs. Also changing family structure (fewer marriages and children) and dependency on various government assistance programs. Worth a read.

Chris Christie's long-shot mission to torpedo Trump in 2024
Hanaguma replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Curious, how do you see the rest of the candidates? Which are palatable... I saw Senator Scott on TV (The View) and he handled himself very well. Showed grace and character when he was being needled by the harpies. To be honest I am not sold on DeSantis at all. Ramaswamy is a sharp guy but really too young, he is probably angling for a cabinet post. -
Chris Christie's long-shot mission to torpedo Trump in 2024

Not a bad outcome. For me, keeping Biden/Harris/Trump ALL far from the White House is the best possible outcome. Hopefully with a principled and decent conservative in their place. -
Tucker Carlson drops first episode of bare-bones Twitter show

Sounds like a lot of fear on the left, disguised as sputtering vituperation with a side dish of snide. -
Chris Christie's long-shot mission to torpedo Trump in 2024

Just remember how he made Marco Rubio look like a fool in 2016... Christie helped Trump doing debate prep in the 2020 campaign. From what I have heard in Christie interviews, Trump was not a good student. Christie may not get the nomination, but he can do a "murder suicide" like he did on Rubio and clear the field for someone else. Then get rewarded as VP or perhaps Attorney General. -

Gotta say I like big Chris too. He is very sharp, has a New Jersey bulldog kind of personality. I just dont see what his constituency is. As I have said before, my dream is Christie/Kristi for the win. -
True. Because alongside the wages, there are also incentives to NOT work- especially overly generous social programs. Plus overly kind parents who let their adult children skulk around the family home well past when they should be living as independent adults. And partners in relationships who let their partners get away with being lazy. Nicholas Eberstadt wrote about this in his book "Men Without Work" published in 2016 and re-edited in 2022 to account for Covid.

Polling at 20% is not a joke. That is higher than everyone in the GOP field except Trump and DeSantis, yet the remaining candidates are not jokes by any means. Yet what other credible candidates are there for the Democrats? Who could win a general election- Gov. Newsom? Maybe Sen. Kelly from Arizona
