    Never dated there. We met and live in Thailand. We do have a house over there, and as we married in the UK, our marriage is not technically recognised in Laos, but we've never had issues going back there.

    I have. Nowhere does it say that paying someone, or receiving payment, for sex is, itself, illegal. Imagine what Pattaya would be like if it was!

    You're quoting the "law" but nothing you have quoted says that it is illegal to pay someone for sex, other than in public or in a brothel. Section 11 also applies to the owner of controller of the prostitutes and NOT the customers.
