You clearly have no idea regarding homeless people have you?

There are many reasons why people are home less, open your eyes, then maybe you will see.

So you have no pity for the homeless, shame on you, just hope and pray it never happens to you.

YOU, Collin, Don't know 'nothing about me so how can you say -- "You clearly have no idea regarding homeless people have you?"

I can only talk 'down to Idiocy.

To answer your concern about Knowing about Homeless People:   I have 2 close friend families that have sons who are homeless... I knew both boys since they were in grade school. I watched them grow up and since their parents were busy making a living didn't pay attention to the 'company those boys kept' and they were eventually addicted to drugs......  Both cases their parents take them back several times hoping for the best and finally give up..  One boy was taken back for about a year, but was caught still using drugs and hadn't been helping around the house and was kicked out..... He went back to living under a bridge in Los Angeles, which he prefers to having any demands made upon him to help around the House/Yard, Etc.... Under the bridge he can just exist in his own 'Foggy World'... with no demands made...

Collin, You say --  "You clearly have no idea regarding homeless people have you?"   I live in San Bernardino, California... 60 miles east of downtown Los Angeles, about an hours drive..... WE HAVE SO MANY HOMELESS THAT YOU WOULD NOT BELIEVE.... WE HAVE BEGGARS AT MANY FREEWAY OFF RAMPS STANDING BESIDE THE ROAD AT EACH STOPLIGHT .... with hand written signs begging for donations...  I had a friend who gave one of these guys some work repairing automobiles.... One day he would show up  to work and the next day you wouldn't see him... The freeway off-ramp paid the same as working....

Where I have a couple side-by side properties and I live.   we have a cement walled flood control channel behind the properties with paved roads on each side and a chainlink fence seperating us.... we have Homeless camping that close to my home... Los Angeles is trying to help so many homeless with working peoples tax money... There is a park with a lake that homeless settled into in Los Angeles... The police chased a whole homeless encampment out of the park, and afterward cleaned the area... 3,000 pounds of trash had to be removed from the lake along with a couple tons of other surface trash....

I see them daily.... What do you know about these homeless???????    I ask in all sincerity.... since you were so quick to leave 'anther' SAD emojy (we did this once before, and I pretty much let it slide)

I do not live in Thailand.... I stay and support and love my country, the USA (And that upsets a few that I love my USA)..... Until the Pandemic I lived My life 50/50 in Thailand  for the past 45 years, And I love Thailand and Thailand, including my Thai Wife and a mia-noi (or few) in Thailand.      I will bet that i contribute more than you do to the Thai people in gereral...

And I will bet you, and sure to win, that I know what I talk about homeless.... I have had up to 8 rental houses over the past 50 years, I have had a couple hundred rental tenants during that time, and basically I have learned that if you rent to people with a long tern job (They are working folks - Not the lazy folks) you will have a long term tenant............. YOU can feel sorry for the homeless and have pity... all I can ask is please put your purse where your mouth is -- until you learn more about the world as it really is...

Finally, I will add That I fully understand that there is always a couple/few percent... That are bonafied exceptions and worthy of pity, But the largest percent are looking for a 'free-ride' off of those few....

Sit back in your wheelchair, Collin, and re-read this a few times to be sure you have understood my sincere meaning....... And in the future go easy on the 'SAD' emojis....

CHEERS..... Thanks....... Have a nice day

i have researched many charities in Thailand .I make a regular donation to one charity that met my criteria . I have  made a will and the charity will be the beneficiary on my demise .If interested please email.

But BE AWARE of charities whose founders live 'A GOOD LIFE' off your donations before helping the needy with the small amount left over.... I like to see 100% of my money go to the needy.  One time I read a survey on percentages that made it to the real cause --- very enlightening, and saddening to see so many of the final break-down amounts.... Even a few charities owned private jets to transport the founders and families, who also stayed in the best hotels too.. Plan GOOD and avoid waste..

Why would people outside Thailand support Thais and not their own kind?

    Maybe I can ENLIGHTEN you.

I'm American, Our people have become to accustomed to being handed  'support' without them needing to work for it. THAT'S WHY.      They are lazy, physically and even to their brain functions being lazy too..... We have loads of opportunity here.... Look at how many illegals come here and do the hard work jobs because our own 'Bums' are too lazy to work those menial jobs.

I have worked hard my whole life, driving a GREYHOUND BUS for much of it,  and invested in real estate. Now I am comfortably retired and even have a decent surplus of money monthly. I have been sending $1,000 to $2,000 per month to dear ones in Thailand, since March 2021, and wish I could help more of them that I don't know about. I don't like 'proper charities', that pay first class flights and hotels and restaurants for their CEOs and family and give what's left to the needy. Soooooo, I see 100% of my donation going to the needy.....

My Thai wife of 29 years has worked as a cook at a Casino and is now 'disabled, and living with a surplus of money because of her hard work and wise investing, same as myself...    Now many of her Thai family has help they desperately need...

I know that everybody hasn't been rewarded for their hard work as us.... BUT.. Opportunity is here if you will work for it.   THERE IS A REASON, THAT Homeless folks are Home-less....... With no pity from me.... I actually know a FULL HISTORY of a couple homeless from friends families.

What percentage of the total population are known to you?

Don't under-estimate the  potential for extreme levels of violence from a Thai losing face.

The video clearly shows the malicious intent of the perp. All because the perp got snubbed and lost face.

Don't be surprised if any of your "many' do the same to you if you embarrass them.

What a stupid reply from you defending a stupid reply that said "ALL Thais are CRIMINAL....... the word 'ALL' is close enough to 100%..... You stupidly ask me : "What percentage of the total population are known to you?" I feel it a waste of my time to even reply to you but I have nothing better to do today.... Soooo..... My answer..... I know probably less than 1 in 100,000 of the total population....... BUT. AFTER 40 years involved with Thailand and Thai people, I know a few..... And THEY ARE NOT CRIMINAL.....  When I go to 7-11, Tesco, BigC, Home Pro, The local bus drivers, the check-in agent at the airport, the school teacher, The man who comes to fix my Air-Con,, My mail man, Etc, Etc. Etc......They are NOT 'ALL' Criminals.......

I can't imagine your life living with all criminals and don't even want to think about why you would suggest that my reply was wrong about  "All Thais are criminal"...... being completely wrong!!!!   ****ALL Thais are NOT criminal**** (Not even a large percent of them.....

I know a girl whose Mother was locked up in Nong Palai Prison in Pattaya... I took her there many times to visit Mom and I would always leave a couple thousand baht 'on account' for Mom to buy decent food and toothpaste, Etc.....

So I DO KNOW Thai criminals.... And I whole heartedly stick by my original reply.... ALL THAIs are Criminals -- IS FALSE... 100%.....

A few Thais are Criminals...... Might be passable........ BUT... You can say THAT about all our countries..... I rest my case....

  5. I don't see anybody mentioning the bus.... I have in the past taken 3-4 Thai friends to load their bikes on a bus and ride the same bus... a couple times the friend only sent the mitorcy and didn't travel with it.... In these cases it was Pattaya to Korat or Udon Thani and the bike went same bus all the way and family went to meet the bus..... The last case they loaded the bike inside the lower passenger compartment thru the emergency door......

In either case it was excellent service  Korat about 6 hours and Udon about 15 hours.... I cannot say how the prices compare, however.... I should think near the same prices....

The US government can supply vaccines as foreign aid to foreign countries and yet they can not (will not) supply vaccines to their own US citizens overseas!
And yet China can supply their citizens overseas with vaccines.
What else do you need to know about our exceptional nation and how we expats (don't) benefit from our country's largess?

So - the US will supply Thailand with vaccines, and then US citizens abroad will be placed at the end of the line to receive their vaccines after Thais get their shots which were given to them by the US Government???
    Does that sound about right?
The Thai government has a racist distribution policy that will be directly supported by the US government as US citizens are put at the end of the vaccination lines.
This reads better then a Kurt Vonnegut novel - you can't make this stuff up!

Then it stands to reason, That you should definitely choose China............ Communist China

  7. I hope there is a trustworthy 'oversight' committee to see that Thai Govt. Officials (or PM) don't sell a good portion of it to Myanmar and Cambodia to vaccinate the big bosses....... and fill their own bank accounts some more...

Sorry to say that this statement is totally 'Asinine'.... Completely stupid.......

"MOST' Thais are not criminal..... I KNOW MANY THAIs...... that are NOT criminal, But 'smiling and loving' folks...

Too often.... You see what you want to see.... OR You hang around with the wrong people.... Not sure what the real reason but I am sure that 'Most' Thais ane NOT criminal.... I have much respect for many Thais...

  9. I have been connected to many in Thailand and I travel back and forth frequently until this year......  I have an AIS SIM card account in Thailand so I am familiar.... BUT.... I NEVER USE MY AIS outside Thailand....

Let me help you and any other TV Forum users who haven't discovered 'LINE"..... You can go to your phones 'APP STORE' and type in the search box..... 'LINE' .....and download it into your smartphone....... THEN.... as long as both parties have internet (and who doesn't now days) You can talk together (as well as send stickers or few word messages) for hours for FREE.............. FREE ..... ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD......

I have limited experience with What'sAp..... another similar free service..... But I think may be similar to 'LINE'

I'm stuck in the USA over 1 year now (It could be same in Australia, Sweden, Germany, ETC......)   I can talk to my friends in Thailand (or Sweden) for hours for free, as long as we both have 'INTERNET' connection....

SKYPE is another good one for direct dialing phone calls... You deposit a fee (approx $10 USD) and you can use it for a year or more and your calls are charged to your account at about 1-2 cents per minute (USD)  SKYPE is a EURO company and very cheap..... THERE IS REALLY NO NEED TO PAY 'AIS' THEIR HORRIBLY EXPENSIVE FEES.....

PM or reply if you want more clarification.....  I love my LINE, and I use the hell out of it.....

  10. MY OWN PERSONAL EXPERIENCE.........

I have 2 KASIKORN accounts and have had many other Thai Bank accounts     I have learned that year after year if you keep a minimum of 500 baht they will never close an account.  Keep in mind that if you have an ATM Card there is usually a fee deducted annually which could drag you below the 500. So if you have 2000b or more you should be good for a couple years.... 5,000 or 50.000b and not fears....

    MY OWN PERSONAL EXPERIENCE......

i normally was back and forth from USA to Thailand every 1 or 2 months.... I had two KASIKORN accounts on my cellphone --- I could transfer money instantly to some Thai Lady Friends, who were hurting from no work due to Covid 19. I could top up my Thai AIS phone SIM card from my home in the USA even with my USA sim card in my phone === As long as I had WiFi....... KASIKORN uses WiFi even while you are in Thailand or overseas...... SO, ANYWAY I WAS WELL FIXED..... UNTIL.... ONE DAY.... I lost my phone (and inside the phone cover I stored my Thai AIS SIM card- lost also)... So I called KASIKORN IN THAILAND, from the USA and asked how I could recover my access to my account.... KASIKORN told me that I must come into a branch with identification and recover it 'OR' call from my PHONE which they have on record (this SIM card lost with my phone) and they can re-install my on-line banking..... NOW I am almost 14 months unable to go to Thailand and I have an alternative method to send money to my friends and it works worldwide.... online you will find 'TRANSFERWISE' (RECENTLY CHANGED THEIR NAME TO SIMPLY--- WISE)... (Now I must use them to transfer money and pay an extra dollar or two per transfer)

But My suggestion --- DON'T LOSE YOUR PHONE ..... or ... AS WITH MY PRESENT i-PHONE.... Have 2 phones programed as ONE with all your info on both.... I-Phones can do that, I have learned....

BUT I still must wait to go to Thailand later and Prove Myself to a KASILORN branch to re-install my banking on my phone as before...

My own personal experience..... I hope it helps........

Well i have heard tales before about the bride being on fire on the wedding night, but this case is a bit different.

Hey Thai electrics, keep using extensions cables, plug this in, ohh i will plug this in, result overload, and this is the result you get.

You should be giving more positive and sympathetic advise.... Have 'you' NEVER been 'Unwise' and suffered a loss..... I think they did great while accepting this 'loss'...... Do you really know that there wasn't other 'problems' that caused this, or that they didn't put trust in others that resulted in this 'fire'?????

SAD. I feel pity for this couple just starting a life together.... After a start like this this..... I can only wish them 'best of luck' in the future.... And you and others joke about it.    Sad

  13. It is too bad they didn't start this a few years back   My wife's oldest brother was one of those.... Now he is retired but still an 'ex' RTP <deleted> in Korat....

And then you saw those few in the news on TV Forum recently about RTP killing wives/girlfriends (one burning her body with car tires)...

This stuff goes on all around the world, BUT it seems Thailand has more than their share, with Gov't officials, as my wife's RTP brother, receiving money from traffic stops,  and other 'officials' collecting 'brown envelopes'......

Sorry, but no. People will not be getting their money back. They might get a few satang - assuming they filed the proper paperwork with the Court - on the baht, or maybe a voucher from TG. That's it. Someone is always left holding the bag.

I understand that Thai is in bankruptcy....  I don't know about YOUR CARD - If it is a Thailand issued card then it may not offer protection the same as other countries cards.   In a similar situation MY CREDIT CARD COMPANIES give me a protection similar to 'insurance coverage'... That protection is basically that -- If you buy something using 'Our' credit card and you DON'T receive the service or the merchandise you paid for --Then you are not required to pay for the item, or can apply for a refund if you already paid for it....

I may not have any present dealings with THAI, But I have had many dealings with my credit card companies (Especially with 'online orders') and I have been given refunds in ALL the cases...

IF YOU DON'T GET WHAT YOU PAID FOR -- Your credit card 'should' cover your loss.    And I can anticipate some credit cards needing some pushing to give you that protection.....

Thai military has a lot to learn about their treatment of their ranks and it seem to think having an Aircraft Carrier (which doesn't even have a single aircraft to assist it) and buying Submarines are more valuable than taking care of their disabled/afflicted members......

So, in summary you have not purchased tickets from TG, and then obtained a refund.

    Is that right?

And you've obtained a refund from a company which is in bankruptcy protection?

    Is that also correct?

Look, we get that it is relatively easy to dispute a charge, and potentially get the merchant to issue a refund. Especially for those of us in/from countries with reasonable consumer protections.

I bought a ticket on Qatar last year, and was able to obtain a refund in ~ 10 days, when they cancelled a segment. (I had actually already paid that credit card bill, so no reason to involve them; just worked with QR directly.) I did not re-book, or take a voucher.

TG's situation is abnormal, for a whole host of reasons. The Central Bankruptcy Court (will) control which creditors get what, and what expenses can be incurred. Jet fuel: OK, processing a refund: Not OK. TG's "recovery plan" may cover refunds, but I wouldn't count on it. They'll string you along with a re-booking or a voucher.

Yes, some people did obtain refunds early on.

Hey..... I am NOT making you any promises, and after your nasty replies I am hesitant to even suggest more to YOU..........

But my 'bottom line' to you is that 'sometimes' persistance and Hard Work pays off......I HAVE NOT been involved with Thai Airways.... AND I don't know your credit card is giving you the protection that I am accustomed to, so I can't offer specific help.... I can ONLY GUESS that you are spending more time 'venting' on ThaiVisa.com than you are spending hounding Thai Aurways and  YOUR credit card....... Without knowing all your details, I will guess that after sufficient work and waiting... You will get your money back.... eventually.............. Cheers, Mate,              May your rewards equal your efforts.....

"they can basically tell you to get <deleted> and that is the end of it."

Maybe for you it is the end..... NOT ME...... I will wear them out with my fighting and I will ask to speak with the 'TOP' (supervisor)...

90% (not 100%) it depends upon YOU .... occasionally there is 'small print' YOU overlooked... I always read the 'fine print' and don't continue after reading it.....
