The draft law has been billed as necessary to preserve Cambodian culture, but women's right campaigners fear it could be used disproportionately to target women in the conservative Southeast Asian nation.

Who would ever think of Cambodia (or all it's neighboring countries) where they don't try to stop all the 'nasty' stuff... They just struggle to hide it.... AND that is 'conservative' ?????

Last year, the United Nations highlighted social norms in Cambodia that "justify gender-based violence".

It called for the elimination of the chbap srey, an ancient code of conduct that was part of official school curricula until 2007 and teaches women to be submissive and quiet.

I find it hard to believe, the 'chbap sray' training ever ended... Maybe ended in schools but not 'home schooling'......

The same sort of thing is apparently still 'alive and well' in most muslim countries....

Where women are taught from babies that they are no better than the soi-dog, in the eyes of their men....

    And they call it 'conservative'

  2. Nakhon Sri Thammarat in southern Thailand

That is very dense muslim population there.   It is one of the 2 southern Provinces that wants to become free from Thailand control and govern themselves. The muslim men are very well known for how badly they treat the 'female gender' (pretty much like 'Soi dogs')   This guy undoubtedly had her money and value of her houses 'in his sights'.

  3. Rubber has much pollution/residue and if not policed..... (Doubtful - pay offs for inspectors more likely)..............

Rayong has Oil Refineries and Chemical Production Facilities in an area called Map ta Phut.... ALREADY A LOUSY HISTORY OF POLLUTION........

The lovely beach resort town of Ban Chang, about 40 minutes drive from Pattaya, In the near future could rival Pattaya, is nearby this 'Pollution' in 'Map ta Phut' city'.... Ban Chang has a few lovely bars (Pattaya type) and some expats live there, and Property values are 'LOW' because of the Pollution from Mat ta Phut..........

Also Rayong is home of one of the 'lovliest ISLANDS'..... KOH SAMED........ which has been spoiled by 'Oil Spills' in recent years, but now clean again......

So I am fearful of more pollution in the area, such as this New Rubber Facility......

Not necessarily selfish. Maybe just poor social skills.

In any case, ss he is still alive, he can still build new bridges.  And that should be his priority.

I am in TOTAL AGREEMENT with this........... BUT........ I know a few 'farangs' in Thailand..... Who have gone to Thailand (and Costa Rica), (among others) because they have 'burned all the bridges behind them'...... NOBODY loves them at HOME..... (but they do have family).........  I am a firm believer in percentages......... and I know of more than I like, who fit in that group........... I know many in both groups, and just want to point out 'this possibility' since I don't know this poster........

I think......... If you give LOVE, you should receive LOVE.............

The embassy will think I am mad because nobody does that. May be they will say to me, "Go easy on that Chang Beer, ok?"

i JUST CAN'T IMAGINE........ having no living relatives at home who still love you enough and want to know about and help out when you die....... Personally I work hard at maintaing a 'LOVE' with my friends, family, children, and a couple of ex's......

YOU must have 'burned all the bridges behind you' and can't go back..... I know a number of farangs in Thailand who 'DON'T HAVE ANYBODY'............. Frikkin SAD...........  indicatative of a 'selfish' past.....

Perhaps it will depend on how the Cov 9 turns out in next few months.  I like how he backs our military and blue lives matter.  He is obnocus at times, but things within his control he gets it done.  This sounds terrible, however true is that Obama was well educated but incompetent. Obama needed Biden as his "errand white boy".  Its possible most americans can put up with obnocous(spelling) vs someone incompetent.

    Its possible most americans

SORRY    Americanborn....... 'America' should be 'capitalized with a capital 'A'...... I am American and love my country and never fail to capitalize country names.... ESPECIALLY MY OWN COUNTRY.......

(Police deputy spokesman Pol Colonel Kritsana Pattanacharoen said that National Police chief Pol General Chakthip Chaijnda has assigned high-ranking police officers, including deputy National Police chief Suwat Jaengyodsook, to take care of the situation.)

Sounds a bit like the CCP way of thinking, arrested and imprisoned for 10 years, or the CCP's most used method, simply make them disappear.

Communism........... within this present 'Regime'........ Is making it's move........ (flexing it's muscle'.....)

  11. YOU ARE 'RIGHT' ....... FIGHT FOR IT.......

Knock those 'dictators' and the ARMY ouit of politics.......

Thailand..... and the Thai people I know.. (I love the 'Poor' Issan Thais best) deserve more than what this present gov't gives them.....

All of 'Issan' elderly and 'disabled' DESERVE MORE than 1 Submarine or 1 Tank costs...... 'DOWN WITH DICTATORSHIP'........ LETS HAVE A 'LOVABLE' THAILAND' again.....
