I'd add that some of us are fed up with the electorate  continuing to vote for the corrupt and elite, as it was the 'party' that they supported.....

The brexit referendum result gives us hope that things may change.

Wow! You've really got a thing for pink unicorns.

You may have a point, as I hope the electorate is beginning to realise the lies told to them by our govt. - but this is just a small step.

Which is why I said "The brexit referendum result gives us hope that things may change."

Exactly why should you be shocked and exactly why should your friend have had to apologise for her way of thinking.
As a Solicitor..She obviously has NO criminal record..well educated etc etc.
She is what she is..and THAT IS YOUR FRIEND.

Loath the fraudulent corrupt eu jobsworths who want a united states of europe instead of a group of SOVERIGN nations working together for their respective benefits.
Really enjoyed my time with the Spanish people..very fond memories..have nothing against the people of western europe.
One of my best mates over here happens to be a German..he happens to want the afD to do well..he keeps in touch with family back home and talks about the crimes committed by certain recent immigrants.
In his home city..armed cops around schoos...

I was shocked and she was embarrassed at admitting to being a 'little englander" - as we're both more open (? is that the right word) than that.

Same as some of those who voted for it. To think that everyone voted Brexit for the one and same reason as you is delusional. Talking to friends in the UK, it appears that immigration was the main issue.

I suspect it was a combination of both.

My best friend is a uk solicitor, and I was shocked (after I finally asked her what she thought about the brexit referendum) when she apologised and admitted that she was a 'little englander'!

Teddy, is there any data to back up your assertion of 15 years of austerity? We hear lots of claims of impending doom but never with any context.

I believe that Sturgeon and all the other SNP front bench MSPs have voluntarily frozen their salaries at 2008-9 rates. No idea about her husband, but he isn't tax payer funded so I guess it is irrelevant.

Bill is on his way back to blighty as I type but I will cajole him further once he lands. Things the same in MNL. IMG_20180306_211419.jpeg

Exactly, the same has happened prior and post to the brexit referendum....., so presumably you don't believe the "claims of impending doom" when it comes to brexit?

t's impossible to 'prove' either way until it actually happens.

What teebee failed to mention in his post is that the poll is actually done on Twitter and not through the EU countries as the Brexit and other polls are normally conducted.

IMHO it is about as much use as a fish on a bicycle.

    teebee grasping at straws again.

I've given up on believing any poll data anyway.  It is too easily manipulated and frequently (?) incorrect.

The majority of Scots? How do you define them? I have posted this many times before, but the majority of people who were born in Scotland voted for independence in the 2014. The referendum failed due to the votes of those who moved to Scotland from elsewhere.

You're beginning to understand the problem when those who have moved into the uk are allowed to vote?

The tick issue is not an overnight fix. It will take a course of treatment to clear up the severety of the problem, then probably on going periodical treatments to keep it under control.

My dogs (live out) get quarterly injections.

Off topic, but when my dogs had tick-borne blood parasites they were treated with an initial injection (followed by another 10 mins. later to stop the bad side-effects/possibly the other way round), and then another injection a month later - plus tablets.

But this shouldn't be happening anymore as Nexguard Spectra actually works!  My dogs were continually suffering from tick-borne blood parasites - but nothing for a couple of years now since Bravecto and then Nexguard Spectra were introduced.

Whether you heard of anyone dying, they did.   A lot of people died of complications from Measles.   Pneumonia and encephalitis are two of the big killers and affects of Measles.

We have more and more children (and adults) who have compromised immune systems.   Children born prematurely that are now kept alive, but they have weaker immunity.   Measles is highly contagious.    Medical attention is diverted from more serious illnesses when there is an outbreak.   This outbreak is particularly bad, in part because it is almost 100% preventable.

"We have more and more children (and adults) who have compromised immune systems."

    How did this happen?

Accommodation on Thai beaches used to be very eco friendly, but they are now ruined by flashpacker concrete buildings. we are going backwards. I've never seen a modern eco friendly hotel in LOS- all concrete.

The title of this thread is nonsense. The planet is in no danger, and will get along just fine without any humans destroying the environment.

I agree that 'our planet' is in no danger, but believe the life within is in danger.

I thought it was obvious that humans are destroying other life forms, but obviously this is not the case......

OK. Let's rephrase "most civilians were / are living peacefully" i.e. there were riots and harassment by Buddhist nationalists destroying Muslim owned businesses, property and attacking individuals. Also it is known Sri Lankan security forces continue to use torture and other crimes against Boat People returnees, one would assume such activities are not limited to Boat People.

Which brings us back as to why the authorities have closed down the internet?
