  1. You claimed I was lying, you claimed none of the links provided information on the wealth of people attending private schools. You are wrong.
  2. Really? "For many of these families, a move to the private sector meant life changing financial decisions and sacrifices, with families forgoing holidays, cutting down on life essentials, taking out loans, stopping pension contributions or even remortgaging. Many have been supported by grandparents. These are not families striving for luxury or unfair advantage but families striving for a relative normality and a chance to give their children adequate education that will allow them to be independent in the future. "
  3. I am sure there are some rich parents, but certainly not the majority, those are facts, you can laugh at them as much as you like.
  4. If they were rich they could afford the new 20% VAT tax, that's what this is all about, they are not rich, have you even read the OP yet?
  5. Well yes, obviously the gov should do a better job and the specialist lawyers taking the action disagree with you as do 1000's of schools and parents
  6. If there is no alternative suitable education being provided by the state but there is private. No you obviously did not read the link. Perhaps you need some education on this, here's another. What will VAT on private education mean for children with SEND Driven to desperation and failed by the system, many parents of SEND children have turned to the private sector where they often saw their children’s attainment and mental health improve dramatically. The announced plans to add 20% VAT on all private education is a massive blow, pushing many already strained families over the edge and pushing many children with SEND back to the already struggling state sector. https://www.senschoolsguide.com/post/what-will-vat-on-private-education-mean-for-children-with-send
  7. It proves everything, you stated "A human rights issue to attend private school eh ?" It is, its going to court on that basis with over 1000 schools on the action. You obviously did not read the link as to why......
  8. Word salad to deflect from your dishonesty on what the head said. She is nopt saying they were struggling before this Julie Lodrick, Headmistress of Tudor Hall School, said: “We are reviewing the future of Carrdus School following the government’s decisions to introduce VAT on parents’ school fees mid-way through the school year, remove charitable business rates relief and increase employers’ national insurance contributions. "This combination has put both huge pressure on the school’s finances and our families with a number of parents giving notice to withdraw their child from the school.
  9. I don’t make statements on what constitutes the basis of other people’s posts. Really? That was another member responding to your misinformation post, do you want a link? The head of the school does not back your claims that it was on the ropes before.
  10. A human rights issue to attend private school eh ? Yes. The action will be brought around Article 14, the prohibition of discrimination, and Article 2 of the First Protocol, the right to education. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c98d3xr0290o
  11. That comment was based on your misinformation and a direct response to your post and your further unsubstantiated claim that the back was at breaking point proves that you have no boundaries as to how far you spread false information
  12. Yes Chomper: “We are reviewing the future of Carrdus School following the government’s decisions to introduce VAT on parents’ school fees mid-way through the school year, remove charitable business rates relief and increase employers’ national insurance contributions. “This combination has put both huge pressure on the school’s finances and our families with a number of parents giving notice to withdraw their child from the school. Another parent said: “We need to fight; this is a school that has been around hundreds of years collapsing due to Labour’s changes.”
  13. Falling because of the Labour budget...................jeez Again you are spreading slurs about the management of the school. Have you bothered to read the latest inspection report?
  14. No it does not. Here is that dishonesty again
  15. Not dishonest Brian, just a different opinion based on available information. The available information does not support your opinion, your opinion is false, misleading and a slur on the school.
  16. Highlight these significant problems before, please provide a link to them
  17. So yes, on the ropes. Yes now and we all know why, you claimed "before", clearly being dishonest again
  18. Wrong again, it has not folded and it was not clearly struggling before Labour introduced VAT and upped NI “The introduction of VAT on independent school fees mid academic year, further compounded by the loss of charitable business rates relief and the increase in employers’ national insurance contributions, has put a great deal of pressure on parents and schools. Consequently, a number of Carrdus parents have been left with no alternative option but to give notice to withdraw their child from the school either at the end of the autumn term, or at the end of the academic year.” “We are reviewing the future of Carrdus School following the government’s decisions to introduce VAT on parents’ school fees mid-way through the school year, remove charitable business rates relief and increase employers’ national insurance contributions. https://www.schoolmanagementplus.com/uncategorized/isc-to-sue-government-over-vat-on-fees/
  19. That does not substantiate your new slur. It hasn't folded.......yet. The fact that parents removed children from the school so soon suggests that they cannot afford the new VAT tax.
  20. Carrdus was obviously on the ropes, read the reviews, high staff turnover was already a problem. I read the Inspection report that also contains information on Staff and management. Its a good report and does not reflect your claims that it was obviously on the ropes. Another one of your unsubstantiated slurs.
  21. Deflection, they have more resources, they provide better education, they cost money. Now back to your claims on what the parents of Carrudus School are doing with the students there?
  22. Yes I know, all primary schools are prep schools, they are the same thing, only the private sector prefers the name prep, now back to your claim: How do you know they are doing this to then place them in a selective state school? Then comes?
  23. 20% higher costs that have resulted in closed schools and parents not being able to afford it.
  24. Do you have a link to this claim on parents doing this at Carrdus School? Which selective state schools are so much better than others? Whats the critieria to get accepted to these schools?
