From 2021 Palestinian Schools Have a Problem—and Are Running Out of Time The U.N. agency for Palestinian refugees has failed to fulfill demands for reform—and may soon face the consequences. When former U.S. President Donald Trump cut off U.S. funding to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) in 2018, he was widely criticized for eliminating a crucial source of humanitarian aid to Palestinians in need. Even critics of the embattled U.N. agency called the decision a mistake, arguing that working with UNRWA, not against it, was the best way to facilitate long-needed reform. Eliminating antisemitism, incitement, and links to terrorism might sound like obvious conditions for a U.N. agency whose slogan is “Peace Starts Here.” But it’s far from clear whether these are conditions—especially as applied to UNRWA’s educational programs—the organization will be able to fulfill. https://archive.ph/POSpz https://foreignpolicy.com/2021/11/05/unrwa-palestine-israel-refugees-united-states-funding-corruption-education/

There could be genuine reasons for that, this is not new, the concerns that UNRWA were infiltrated have been around for years. The UN has even highlighted how its schools have been used for terror. Here's just one report from 2014 UNRWA CONDEMNS PLACEMENT OF ROCKETS, FOR A SECOND TIME, IN ONE OF ITS SCHOOLS https://www.unrwa.org/newsroom/press-releases/unrwa-condemns-placement-rockets-second-time-one-its-schools

Maybe the BBC should also have done a lengthy piece on the Hamas terror videos of the innocent hostages they took while under duress. Horrific vids of girls and men having to say what Hamas ordered them to while in a dark tunnel meters underground in Gaza. Another being told live on video that his wife has been killed. Get your priorities in place BBC

Arab countries barely donate to UNRWA, and attack the West for giving millions After several countries announced that they were halting their funding to the Palestinian refugee relief agency UNRWA following information that some of the agency's employees participated in the October 7 massacre, a number of Arab countries spoke out against the decision. It is important to note that UNRWA's main source of funding is donor countries - which come mainly from the West, and not from the Muslim world. In the list of the 20 countries that contributed the highest amounts to the agency in 2022, The only Muslim countries are Saudi Arabia, in eighth place, with a donation of $27 million, and Qatar in 20th place , with a contribution of $10.5 million. Turkey is also on the list, in 10th place, with a contribution of slightly more than $25 million. https://www.ynetnews.com/article/rkahwhe56

What makes you think I have to address points you mentioned that come from the UN spokesman? I read the article. Interesting, no further comment needed. I did provide a response with another very important actor in this war that also addresses the UNRWA issue and states quite clearly that it should not be changed yet. So agreeing with the UN Spokesman. My comment of "but for longer term, well that is one of the solutions that still needs to be agreed on by all" remains.

I think changing the agency in the middle of a war is a no no and everyone will eventually agree with that but for longer term, well that is one of the solutions that still needs to be agreed on by all. February 01, 2024 COGAT say no immediate replacement for UNRWA in Gaza While Elian acknowledged the potential for alternative aid organizations, including those affiliated with the United Nations, he highlighted the absence of an immediate replacement capable of efficiently distributing humanitarian supplies in the Gaza Strip. He emphasized that, for the time being, collaboration with UNRWA is unavoidable. https://www.i24news.tv/en/news/israel-at-war/1706778362-cogat-say-no-immediate-replacement-for-unrwa-in-gaza

Hamas Unveils Truce Proposal, Netanyahu states its delusional
Bkk Brian replied to Social Media's topic in The War in Israel
I wasn't responding to your previous posts, only this one that needed you to amend your error. The death and injured figures that are issued daily by Hamas first need to be believed. Then once anyone's convinced themselves they are pretty accurate you have got to deduct the deaths and injuries from the failed rockets that Hamas has shot at Israel and landed back in Gaza. Then of course the current deaths of Hamas fighters are 10,000 that need to be deducted. As for how many Hamas fighters injured, well if 10,000 have been killed then thousands must have been injured. -

Hamas Unveils Truce Proposal, Netanyahu states its delusional

The IDF has killed almost 70,000 Palestinians since 7 Oct, but I never said (to my recollection) that the Zionists' intentions were to kill all Palestinians. I believe in that context, I used the word "eliminate," which could mean kill, but could also mean the removal of them. (Which, by the way, CNN has reported this morning they are starting to do in Rafah in Gaza.) Not getting involved in the debate on the ceasefire proposals with you as the current Hamas demands are delusional and my opinion of your proposal remains the same, also delusional but your obvious mistake here of claiming 70,000 Palestinians since 7 Oct have been killed needs a correction from you. -
Giant Hamas tunnel found under UNRWA’s Gaza headquarters During a meeting between U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Prime Minister Netanyahu in Jerusalem on Wednesday, the American diplomat was shown photos of a giant tunnel that was exposed in recent days underneath the central headquarters of UNRWA in the Gaza Strip. The meeting was attended by senior officials from both sides. The Israeli leader showed Blinken proof of the misuse of the UNRWA headquarters’ underground premises for apparent terrorist tunneling purposes. https://www.jns.org/giant-tunnel-discovered-under-unrwas-gaza-headquarters

Israel and Hamas fight house-to-house battles across Gaza

Out of all the vids I've seen, this one probably shows the day to day fighting more than others that IDF have to face on the ground. Terrorists in civilian clothing in intense urban warfare. -
By the dog bed not the best place Joe, come on mate..... Classified documents by dog bed, memory troubles and ghostwriter deleting files: Takeaways from Biden report It did, however, contain much that will concern many Americans and was overall far from complimentary of the incumbent president. The investigators painted a picture of a senile president with severe memory issues whose innocence was less clear than his supporters would have hoped, while not necessarily coming across to a potential jury as malicious or criminal. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/biden-report-key-points-classified-b2493203.html

Ghostwriter deleted Biden recordings The report also says that Mr Biden divulged classified material from his hand-written notebooks to the ghostwriter for his 2018 memoir Promise Me, Dad. The ghostwriter, Mark Zwonitzer, deleted audio recordings of discussions with Mr Biden after learning of the special counsel's probe, the report says. Prosecutors considered filing charges against the ghostwriter, but ultimately declined to do so after determining that his deleting of the tape was "his standard practice with his clients". https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-68245617

Israel and Hamas fight house-to-house battles across Gaza

Another large tunnel complex found where they held hostages. The IDF reveals a major Hamas tunnel in southern Gaza's Khan Younis, previously used by senior members of the terror group and later repurposed to hold hostages. Troops of the elite Yahalom combat engineering unit and other special forces under the 98th Division raided the "strategic" underground network, which the IDF says was around one kilometer long. The IDF says senior Hamas officials previously resided in the tunnel, and hostages were later held there during the war. "The troops battled terrorists in the tunnel, breached blast doors, and neutralized explosive devices," the IDF says. In the tunnel, the IDF says troops found a holding cell where the hostages were previously kept, a bathroom and a resting area for the terrorists guarding the hostages. https://twitter.com/IDF/status/1755215632084107406 -

Special counsel report sends shockwaves through Congress A special counsel report released Thursday detailing memory lapses by President Biden sparked swift and fierce reactions from members of Congress. Why it matters: Republicans quickly seized on the report, with Democrats privately panicking about the potential impact of its findings. A senior House Democrat told Axios they are "going to take time to read the report," but added that it is "obviously concerning." "Oy vey," said another House Democrat in reaction to the details. https://www.axios.com/2024/02/08/biden-memory-special-counsel-report-congress ‘A nightmare’: Special counsel’s assessment of Biden’s mental fitness triggers Democratic panic WASHINGTON — President Joe Biden sidestepped any criminal charges as the investigation into his handling of classified documents concluded, but the political blowback from the special counsel’s report Thursday could prove even more devastating, reinforcing impressions that he is too old and impaired to hold the highest office. Special counsel Robert Hur’s portrait of a man who couldn’t remember when he served as Barack Obama’s vice president, or the year when his beloved son Beau died, dealt a blow to Biden’s argument that he is still sharp and fit enough to serve another four-year term. https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2024-election/-nightmare-special-counsels-assessment-bidens-mental-fitness-triggers-rcna137975

So plan B being? Who else is there for the Dems if this is true? Special counsel report specifically cites Biden's age and poor memory as a reason he wasn't charged US Special Counsel Robert Hur's newly released report cites President Joe Biden's memory and advanced age as a reason not to charge him for mishandling classified documents. In Hur's yearlong investigation, his team found several classified documents improperly stored outside the White House stemming from Biden's time in the Senate and vice presidency. https://www.businessinsider.com/special-counsel-report-biden-age-poor-memory-reason-no-charges-2024-2

Your just making up your own facts. @Brickleberry Your point 4 for instance. No its NOT a legal issue. Its your fake rage only. The UNRWA is NOT being stifled from distributing aid because of this. The countries that have temporarily suspended aid money only account for around 50% of the aid UNRWA get and the UN have also stated the budget will last till end of Feb or early March anyway. Your ridiculous claim that this is making those countries legally complicit in genocide is just off the wall!! I wonder why Arab countries supply so much less aid to UNRWA than the west, perhaps time for them to step up regardless of this. Some do provide but nowhere near the amounts the west does.
